This is about one of my friends irl. For the past year (last school year) he had been asking my why I play such a garbage game like runescape. I told him I find it fun and addictive. I asked him how long he played it, he said he never got past the account creation page. He was basically going off the one sided information another kid told him (who pretty much boasted about using an auto-miner when he did play, by the way)

 

 

 

So earlier this month I told him to set up an account. He sets up an account, plays for a while on f2p, and now he's hooked.

 

 

 

 

 

Does anyone else have a story where they've proven someone's ignorance and shown them how good the game actually is compared to the stereotypes placed on it?

yea there was this guy in my class, and he used to skit at me and my friend for going on runescape, and he said we were sad, then it started to go about the class that runescape was good, and he decided to try it. Then he became a member not long after, and now outranks me in most of his skills. It just shows how some people follow the crowd.

Haha! Finally a topic to tell my short story of how my sister got on RS:

 

 

 

Me: You should play RS oneday

 

Simone: No ways, RS is boring and repetitive

 

Me: It's not

 

Simone: Yes it is

 

 

 

A while later, I asked her to go on RS - try it out, gave her something when she started, and a bit of healthy competitin, nothing to crush her spirits, and soon she had a great accy and eventually admitted she never played RS in the first plac x.x

Hehe...just remember not to get too addicted and forget about the people you know irl! :wink:

I used to hate this game when i saw my friend playing it, then i created my own account and here i am, played over 5 years now lol -,- But i'm not really hooked on this game tho :)

i tried to convince one of my friends, he made an account on it a long time ago but got stuck on tutorial island (thought he just had to light like 100 fires) and just quit from boredom

 

 

 

about a year later i persuaded him to create another account (because he forgot his password lol) and finally got past tutorial island and got lvl 5 then got bored again

 

 

 

well he wanted to get a 3rd chance so he created a newer account with another name (he didn't like his other name) and got past tutorial island again and found out the only fun thing in the game is pking.. well after dying at lvl 10 and losing all his tutorial island stuff and got bored from being lost he stopped playing again

No I don't have any stories like that... all my friends have quit. In fact the person who introduced me to it, quit after I started playing. RuneScape is the Microsoft equivalent of MMOs, everyone says it sucks but they know nuthin'.

My best friend, he said it didn't intrested him and seemed dumb. When me and my other friend finally convinced him to make a acc...he was 100% additcted :shock: Once I couldn't sleep and woke up at 5 AM, logged on RS and saw him there :shock: (he realllly likes to sleep to! :o) Said he's been waking up at 4:30 for three days in a row :shock:

 

But hes much better now. :)

My friend told me about runescape, I told him it was dumb and that I prefered age of empires. I eventually join because he keeps going on about it and another friend of mine also joined. Well 4 and a half years later despite quitting around 5 times (once for 2 years) I am still playing! The rest of my friends irl have quit though.

I'm an excellent example of not liking Rs (from what a couple of my friends where talking about years ago when they played RSC >> they don't play anymore) and I started then to play RSC and got hooked and then RS2 came out and I've been playing RS up to me stopping.

I have a story of an opposite fate..

 

Quite awhile ago, I got a friend to play RuneScape with me, and he liked it.. He bought membership within the first ten minutes off Tutorial Island, he played for a week.. Then said that the game was the worst he's ever played..

 

But, still to this day (This is about two years later) his account is STILL a member, so he's been paying for membership for the WHOLE entire time he hasn't been playing..

 

Just thought I'd share that.

Yeah, all my friends and my brother have quit RS, and say it sucks... well maybe not my brother, though his account is only lvl25... They paly other games like Knight Online, etc: Anyway, the only person i know that plays RS is my friend (never mind the contradiction) who is a lvl 69 something char, and im rapidly gaining in combat on him.

Whenever someone thinks of runescape, the first thing they say is "The graphics suck." Psh, though it may not have the best graphics, i like it. Hehe! :wink:

About 5 years ago all my friends were trying to get me to play and I wouldn't. I kept telling them it was trash, but they finally got me to play and I was hooked ever since.

I notice that alot..

But they don't realize that the gameplay is great, and often the community is great too.
