October 7, 200619 yr straight to the point: 5 lines is too short we should be able to have like 7 BUT.. in profile there should be 3 options: hide signature, show signature, and link signature. the link one would be a button by the bar that pm and profile is, it would say signature. just an idea  ~Guy RIP TET "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche
October 8, 200619 yr I'd say 6 lines at the monst. Most people get along fine with 5, but yea... sometimes it just isn't enough. Anything over 6 and even I'd have to wonder what you're putting in it :-?
October 9, 200619 yr Author when i did links, the atual thing was not over 5 lines, but the text (links) was RIP TET "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche
October 9, 200619 yr Hmm, I'd say 7 line limit AT THE MOST here... I have had times when I wanted to drop in a couple nice things, but then I tripped over a thread WORTH SUPPORTING... Kind of like those 3 in my siggy now... :P [Edit] ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
October 9, 200619 yr 10 seems way too much, specially if someone already has an image 175 pix high. If you have that much to write about, you could easily post it somehow as a topic or even just post it in another site to be linked to your sig. After all, it is all just a sig, people come here to read the posts contents more than other parts of a topic like sigs. Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art

Basically the person who began this thread, from what I can figure, was upset with how, if you put images into your siggy, it cuts down the number of lines of text you can put in it. I have actually had times where I experienced this phenomena already and have disliked it, to say the least. I also noticed in some cases, the 30 KB image limit is actually too little, because no matter how hard some authors try, it ain't possible to get some small-dimensioned images to pack into a small file size without degrading the image beyond the limits of readability by those whose eyesight are not 20/20... So I would like to ask for a 5 KB image file size limit in this thread. :) ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... October 10, 200619 yr 7 Lines FTW! I somtimes find the limit annoying when I want to fit in that extra line or two.
October 10, 200619 yr Another alternative is to write all those 10 lines in a small font which you can fit in a 450x175 image sig, then just use that image as your text. Pixel sigs by me.Pixel Art
October 10, 200619 yr Another alternative is to write all those 10 lines in a small font which you can fit in a 450x175 image sig, then just use that image as your text. Nicely said. But that option has one DEADLY catch on it... You can't then make the lines of text into seperate links. :( Yeah, 10 lines of text will be too much anyway. 7 will do. Just 7... and a 35 KB image size limit instead of 30 KB... ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... October 10, 200619 yr I'd agree but you have to think about the users of Dial-Up who have to put up with enough and wait minutes just to load a thread. This in no way will help. Legendary F2P Skiller
October 10, 200619 yr I'd agree but you have to think about the users of Dial-Up who have to put up with enough and wait minutes just to load a thread. This in no way will help. Heh, it ain't the text in the document that kills. It is all the images and such that are loading up that does that. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... October 10, 200619 yr Therefore a option should be put in the profile to disable sigs viewed Maybe do both the "siggy disable" and the "expanded sig limits" in one shot then? :-s ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... October 13, 200619 yr I want 8 lines, 10 is a bit too much http://magicrpg.free.fr/pages/golden_sun/golden2/intro/01.jpg[\img]
October 13, 200619 yr I want 8 lines, 10 is a bit too much 7 seems more than enough for me. October 14, 200619 yr Author ok, 7 :) i was away from rs and tip it for a few days :) back now RIP TET "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche
October 14, 200619 yr I think five is fine. Why would you need 7 different links in your signature? Honestly, there's nothing uglier (on this forum) than a signature stocked full of quotes and links. I just don't see the point.
October 14, 200619 yr I'd just want a slightly larger file size. Any particular reason why it's limited to 30Kb? I'd LOVE to have it to be 35 or 40!
October 16, 200619 yr Less! Less. Please! 3 lines, all in size 7, and 300x150 image/s with max filesize of 30,000 is what I'd like :P Don't want to wear out my scrolling finger. Where the bloody hell are you?
October 16, 200619 yr Camerons reply is exactly the reason why raising the limits really isnt feasible. You are all thinking of yourselves when it comes to adding signatures, but what you dont take into account , that nobody comes here to see your signature. Yes adding larger images and more text would allow YOU to be more creative and personalize your account , but its other members that have to scroll through all your signatures to read the actual post content. Yes there is an option to disable viewing other members signatures, but why should someone have to disable all signatures just because some users want huge ones? October 16, 200619 yr Heh, I don't mind scrolling through all the siggys. It sometimes helps me to see inside a crazy person's mind. ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people...
