October 9, 200619 yr Let's go back to the first time I've actually watched sports... MLB-Baseball 1. I started watching baseball in 1st grade for a homework assignment. I liked Nomah. Nomar Garciaparra 2. 2004 comes around, and Nomar is out. I start enjoying all the wonderful-ness Bill Mueller does for the Red Sox. 3. July 31, 2004 comes, and Nomar is gone. Bill Mueller is now my favorite player. 4. After the 2005 season, Bill Mueller signs with the Dodgers...And no one on the 2004 Sox is still in Boston except for Ortiz, Manny, Schilling and a few other guys. I have no favorite player... 5. Papelbon and Lowell start of 2006 well. I start liking both of them. 6. Meanwhile, on the hated team, the Yankees, Chien-Ming Wang, who is from the same country as I am pitches well. 7. For my birthday in August, my mom gets me a Wang shirt. I now have a three way tie for favorite player...Lowell, Papelbon and Wang. 8. It's post-season time! Papelbon went down injured at the end of the season...But Wang is still sharp! Wang is my favorite player for 1 day... 9. The next day, I found out that the Dodgers have a Taiwanese player named Kuo. I can finally cheer for a Taiwanese baseball player without getting killed at school! 10. Both the Dodgers and Yankees are out, and I've returned to watching hockey...Next season, Wang, Kuo, Lowell, Papelbon and perhaps somebody the Sox pick up in the off-season will be my favorite players. NHL-Hockey 1. I started watching hockey in 2003, during the 03-04 season. I didn't really have a favorite player... 2. After about half the season goes by, Joe Thornton and Glen Murray are my favorite players. 3. During the playoffs, Murray scores that overtime goal. He's now my favorite player. 4. Strike! No, I'm not getting baseball confused with hockey. It's the strike that causes no 04-04 season. :cry: 5. The 2005-06 Bruins stink. Sidney Crosby makes headlines for the Penguins, and although I've seen him only a few times on TV, he becomes one of my favorite players... 7. Oh noes! Thornton is gone! But Bergeron is awesome! Bergeron and Murray are my favorites... 8. Off-season comes along...Still those two... 9. The 2006-07 season has finally started! The addition of Zdeno Chara was a good move, and I now have 3 favorite hockey players. 10. We'll see...Depending on how the Bruins do this year... Soccer... Clint Dempsey. When he scored that goal against Ghana, I was at school, and my I could hear shouting all the way down the hall, lol. I am a Centerfielder, and i really admired this guy Playoffs 2004: Curt Schilling :3> , this guy turned me and lots of others in New England gay. We fell in love with his work ethic and toughness during the 2004 playoffs. Also liked Bronson Arroyo 2005: Jay Payton, followed him in Spring Training, man was he good! Big Papi too, wow, he was AWESOME! Bronson Arroyo again! 2006: Bronson Arroyo and Mike Lowell and Jonathan Papelbon were my favorites this past year. Now: Probably...Papelbon No Longer Playing: Yaz. Carl Yazstremski. He was AWESOME. NHL: Gordie Howe, Kevin Dineen, P.J. Stock, Dan Phaneuf, Jason LaBarbara, Eric Staal NFL: 1993(the beginning)-1999: Tedy Bruschi, and he's still one of my favorites. 1999: Tom Brady, Senior at Michigan University. Guess what, I predicted it, I predicted he was going to be one of the best Quarterbacks of all time. This is no joke. I was so excited when he was drafted 6th round. I saw him play a game in college (on tv) in which he led his team down the field in the 4th quarter (think it was versus Notre Dame) and won the game.
