possible October update gets delay?

Finnally i found someone who gets as upset as I do when theres no update. I mean none in two weeks! Just because theres an extra monday doesn't mean that they should delay further. Sorry if I sound picky, I just like it when they dont delay.

 

 

 

Don't get me wrong I am not upset about the updates Jagex gives, I think they work hard, I would just like to see some fun things happen more often, other games like Guild Wars can do it, and they don't charge Monthly payments.

You guys steered this whole thread into "upset about no updates". Anyway I'm staying my own topic, my opinion on this is:

 

 

 

I'm pretty impressed with Jagex's staff, working hard to make non-buggy updates every months, not many other online games do that. (Everquest always make buggy update, then followed by series of bug-fix patches, Guild Wars never update until next expansion, etc..)

 

 

 

But the thing is in october, think about it, someone pay 5$ for *one month* only for this october, this person only got Elemental Workshop 2 and rename magic staff to white magic stuff update so far. I know they are working on fixing mystery ban / mute. I bet Jagex will update something in this october, but not all of these "behind the scene" updates. So there are chance that some of these update will move to next month. That's my guess.

The cape Update is a GREAT update... People wanted a update for high levels.. Well you can't get much higher of an update...

Deangut has it right, don't whine. They will get all the updates out. Look at POHs, people have expected them for what, 4 years? or 5? They always get their updates out...

I thing about this pointless topic that i hate is people are asumming all the updates are coming out on monday. Remember a few months ago they were runing late on an update because it was buggey. They relased it the last day of the month. It was i belive a wensday.

As for the cape update.. does it really matter? So what is Jagex is a bit behind schedule, even though they probably aren't. If they rush the promotes the chance of making mistakes and causing mass complaints by players who actually have something to complain about, rather then how long it takes for the game to be updated.

 

 

 

I however wish I had not dropped my full camo before this new wardrobe update.. that is my only complaint. Too bad the only one I can blame is myself. :-w

I just hope that Jagex comes up with a new fun minigame or skill or branch of magic or something that's extremely fun and exciting by the end of the year. Jagex is quickly losing the interest of much of it's high leveled community, therefore to keep players playing they need to add something fun (not just something meant for high levels, like a Fire cape) to keep players attached. That or bye bye to a nice number of memberships -.- .

 

 

 

Examples of "Something fun" in the somewhat recent past: Barrows, introduction of Ancients ( :twisted: ), Pest Control, Dagganoth Kings, Fight Pits&Caves, etc. Jagex, we need something like these additions!

If you count that cheesie - pointless player gallery an update, you have serious problems. I for one am getting very frusterated at jagex. They have been lacking good high level updates for quite some time now, dont get me wrong all these low level quests they are releasing at fun for....an hour maybe less, i just think they need to start turning out high level stuff. Also the release of a player gallery that horrible is a disgrace, if they think that is a sufficiant update then they seriously need to revise thier update plan.

JaGEx does not have to do anything fast. they make the game, so they make the rules dont they :wink:

 

 

 

You are correct, but we also pay Jagex per month to play "their" game, and for this sum we expect content for our ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã50 per year. I am not saying Jagex have to bring out updates, but due to the fact players pay monthly, they are obliged to bring them out.

 

 

 

So many people keep saying "Jagex don't have to do anything" but you are wrong, they do have to do things otherwise people would just cancel their subscriptions, they might make the rules, but we pay the bills, never forget this :)

 

 

 

Ummm.. please think about how many complaints Jagex would get if they brought in updates which lasted a few hours from people who couldn't make it. That's why Jagex release holiday updates two weeks before and after the actual holiday.

 

Also there's no need to make Jagex work harder on weekends just to get release updates at a time which little kids wont cry about..

 

 

 

I never mentioned updates, these should still go ahead as planned, holiday updates are also not what I am talking about.

 

 

 

I am talking about evenings after 4pm perhaps once a week, just somthing to break up the routine, I have only been playing for 9 months but i pay Jagex ton's of money per year for 4 subscriptions and would like to see somthing to keep the "majority" of scapers happy..

 

 

 

I am not talking about a recode of the game as such, just a small tweak to make somthing more interesting :P

 

 

 

back in rsc jagex released an update every few months. I think they can just stop releasing updates for 2 years and the number of subscribers and leavers will remain the same. Jagex rules. People complain but for every one person who decides to quit p2p due to jagex not offering enough, another 10 will join.
