18/10/06 - Capes of Achievement... and Goats!

Featured Replies

Almost (they'll all be up soon) all the Skill Cape animations are here;

SwordFish666's Guide To Skill Cape Animations! [WARNING 56K]

Capes of Achievement... and Goats!

Are you one of the hottest firemakers? Craftier than a clockwork cat? Bit of a wiz at wizardry? Try out our new Capes of Achievement today!

Experts across RuneScape are now selling these stylish new additions to your wardrobe... but watch out! Only players who have reached level 99 of a specific skill or completed all of the quests will have the right to wear the latest in-game fashion and gain access to a funky new emote to show off their new cape!

(from the Knowledge Base)

skillcapeanimii0.gif

Each cape comes with a matching hood, and if you've mastered more than one skill, a trimmed model will highlight your talent. So whatever skills your achievements lie in, you can show off your dedication with these elite new items. For those of you who still wonder about reaching level 100 ... there's a sneaky boost to your stat on each cape, temporarily giving you the effects of that unattainable century!

To find out where you can buy one, wander over to the Knowledge Base article.

This week also sees the release of a tough, new breed of animals. Herds of Desert Goats can now be found wandering around the Kharidian - um - Desert. Now there's a surprise!

Intrepid explorers who go hunting for these bleating beasts will find that they can collect goat horns, which, when powdered and mixed with Harralander, can make a new Combat potion. This magical (level 36) elixir combines the properties of a basic Attack Potion and Strength potion, so it's a handy addition to your inventory when heading into difficult combat situations.

Warning: Goats and the desert effect can be bad for your health!

By the by, they have the date wrong for the release unless they suddenly moved to the states..

Player-Owned House Costume Room

Do you love to collect different outfits for your character but have trouble finding room for them all in your bank? Is your local banker buried under a heap of lederhosen and frog masks? Your problems are solved!

From now on, if you have level 42 Construction, you can add a costume room to your house. Chests, wardrobes and cape racks in this room can be used to store many of the ensembles you can acquire around RuneScape, including:

Treasure trail reward costumes

Random event reward costumes

Minigame reward costumes (such as Castle Wars armour)

Quest reward costumes (such as Temple Knight armour)

Recent holiday event rewards - you will find that the room automatically stores any holiday event reward you are entitled to!

Plus, of course, the new Capes of Achievement!

Naturally, bigger, higher quality pieces of furniture in this room can store more stuff.

Please consult the Knowledge Base article for the complete list of storable costumes.

In other news...

As always, we've been working hard behind the scenes to fix glitches in the game. This week, among many other minor bugfixes, watch out for the following changes:

Higher-level slayers may be pleased to hear that Duradel, the Slayer Master of Shilo Village, has finally restored Nechryael to his list of assignments.

Ever since the update to the combat interfaces, your attack style would be reset to Accurate mode if you switched weapons to a magic staff. This will no longer happen unless there is no appropriate attack style available on the staff to match your previous mode.

Yep, I can already feel the in-rush of air as millions of players read the news and open their mouths to complain!

I'm personally surprised by it being Members only, everyone knows to get 99 in a skill F2p work twice as hard, but I'm not really bothered, all my excitement's stored for the Halloween update ::'

calvinandhobbessigedite.png

I'm f2p and let me start the rants...I hate you jagex :boohoo:

jk

Now I can play normally, no more power training for capes.

17th to 99 Smithing OSRS

I really like the new 'combat potion', that was a good idea to save inventory space while training :D

Come on people start recording those emotes and put them up here

I hate jagex...

+ the skill cape bonusses are pathetic

99-100?WTF,it isn't even usefull

=D> Jagex manage to release the New Cape but there are still some bugs.

Those who bought the Quest Cape should keep the Cape in their bank before logging out. If they logout before keeping the Cape in their bank it will be gone for some reason :ohnoes:

They still need to know where should the Fletching Cape be place since there are some player who are Pures... :-w

Also the so called "Animation" will not work for some players.

A lot of work for them now. =D>

  • Author

True, but then again Jagex never said the Capes would give a huge bonus, they made it clear that it was to show the Achievement of getting 99 in a Skill and showing it off.

A small bonus and a very cool looking emote is a great update ::'

On a side note; The Bugs people have been reporting so far (18th Oct)

  • Fletching Cape is in the Ranging Guild! Meaning if you have a pure skiller you wont be able to buy it.

Fletching Emote does not 'opeterate' for some players.

Quest Cape is either unequipable for some players or it unequips itself if you change Worlds giving the message that you haven't completed all the Quests.. Already the most popular theory to why the Wise Old Man asks for 99k again everytime players World hop is that he plans to take over the World.

Frankly, I'm not surprised.

Clearly this is all a plot of the Wise Old Man's to get more money, villainous fellow that he is. I mean̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ã

I think that everything is members only :x !!! Get more things to f2p!

Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

qwhat was truly the point of this? f2p cant have this which its hard enough for a f2p to get a 99 skill but i mean i can see they want to get all the f2ps to pay BUT most people that have a 99 skill in members most likely have a firecape except pures and youd wear the fireccape wouldnt you?

New bears and rats are F2p, happy?

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

Well, when I heard about the incoming of capes of achievement I really felt happy about it, but today i felt sad because all my achievements in the game to have 99 skills was for nothing!

Anyway, who cares! I just play the game for enetertainment not for competition or challenge.

cant wait to read all the rants about this  i cant believe that these capes arnt f2p. its soooo much harder to get a 99 in f2p and now we dont even get the capes. they should make even better capes for f2p cause its just so much harder 8-) :XD: :XD: :XD:
