Do f2pers have to wrok harder for cash?

Featured Replies

F2P money-making is very difficult if you have poor skills to work with.

However, let's say you have 55rc. That's 6x airs per ess, and running 1k ess per hour, thats 6k airs you've made. At 15gp per air, minus the initial ~20gp cost of 1 rune ess, you're making a profit of 70k gp per hour.

--- I'm not saying 70k gp/hour is good or bad, but it's about enough to buy the best possible f2p bodyarmor.

--- The best p2p body armor is a Drag chain, which takes more than an hour to earn money for (unless you get lucky and an NPC drops it).

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that money is all relative to what you can buy with it. F2p'ers don't need as much money because there's a lot less stuff to buy with it.

* 3m cash in f2p can buy like 14 full sets of the best armor possible, along with 300 lobsters.

* 3m cash in p2p can buy.... like 40% of full guthans.

If you look at skills however, it actually costs more money for f2p for the same skills. If you want 70 crafting, you're going to have to make it into hardleather bodies, and that's going to cost well over a million. It's going to cost only slightly less for members. So it can get kind of annoying, but oh well. F2P can still make pretty good money merching and what not.

All f2p has to make money is mining, smithing, and woodcutting. Fishing isn't that good because the only good spots dont have banks or are in the wildy. Members is like a whole other of skills and money making possiabalites.

PURE F2p

If you count scamming, it's easier in F2P cause you don't ahve to pay. ;)

But us law-obiding citizens can't make good enough cash as P2Pers. If we fish swordies for 300 ea, you guys fish sharks for... however much it is.

Yes, I find it much harder to make money than my brother. (I'm f2p, he's p2p.)

Even though he's a higher level, p2p'ers can pick flax for an easy 100k+ an hour, at any level. F2p'ers have to train skills, and even at the highest level, they can barely make over 100k and hour.

You forgot about crafting, cause making str ammys and power ammys are also quite good for money

F2p'er have more competition for the few things they do have that can earn them money and the things they have dont earn them as much money, so i say f2p have a MUCH harder time earning cash.

The truth about f2p is that it's not a matter of working hard, but a matter of coping with bordom. Sure members seem to have "easier" money, but that's because they can enjoy it more in their member world with all of the different skills open to them and all of the quests and activities members allow. F2p is given only a ground set of activities, in which can get boring quite fast. Once you get bored, you usually move on, but the limits and boundaries of f2p are so tight that you do not have too much of a choice to move on to.

It is harder for F2P to make money, but that is the way we should have it. We are not paying to play the game.

Though like you said Mining Rune is a great money maker, it is really hard to get. I notice that most miners quit mining before they ever get 60 mining. I personally just reached my goal of 60 wc, but had already made it to 60 mining. Mining took many weeks during the summer to obtain, mining iron/coal. (Mainly Iron) Woodcutting took 5 days total to get 60 I think. Of course the competition for Yews is alot higher than for addy or rune. The problem with mining Rune, isn't really the competition, but PKers. PKers can be really annoying when out in areas such as Greaters and Rune Rocks. Though I can't mine Rune, I occasionally walk by them to see if anyone is mining.

Don't get me wrong, but P2Pers do have the option of mining Runite in the Heros Guild, if I am not mistaken. That means there are only like 4 Rune Rocks in the worlds total. But only 2 for F2Pers, and they are in the Wildy. :ohnoes:

Guthix Gladiators!

yes, being as a nonmember i can defenitly say it is a lot harder to make cash

simply with working skills:

members can make up to 1mil an hour wiht 91 runecraft, 400k+ with 85 mining, and several other ways

nonmembers can make a tops of 300k (on a good day) with 85 mining

as to merchanting, members have a lot more access to other traders (forums) and many different items compared to nonmembers

Example:

avg amount (of friend) merchanting in nonmember for a day: 1m

avg amount (of friend) merchanting in member for most of a day: 4m

I am not complaining, I find it more fun to have harder access to making money

anyways sry i wrote like an essay lol

IMO, unless you have 85+ mining or have a decent amount of cash/rares, the best way to make money in f2p is buying chaos runes from the shop. :o

And merchanting rares in f2p is difficult; theres always a greater need for it than the sellers, so we tend to get ripped off.

The only problem with rares on f2p is the fact that not alot of people have over 100 mill if there f2p.

Part of Runescape since November 2004.

Most F2P skill money makers make 50-100K / hour.

Most P2P-only skill money makers make 100-400K / hour.

F2P'ers have to work harder for their cash yes.

+1, p2ps get to fight dragons, collect herbs, do treasure trails, f2ps dont have the privledge to do any of them, so yes

I'd say that its easier to make money in P2P.

If you're really lazy you can pick little blue flowers and spin them, all whilst being half asleep :P

Personally I think in F2P you'd have to take more time to make the same amount of money, and there's less choices and ways to do it.

Optimistic Elder in Runescape's only cult, The Order of Cabbage.

F2P is harder to get money, with my skills on p2p i cud get a decent amount of cash, I could craft nats or cut magics or somethig, but on f2p my options are limited and because i dont have 85 mining i can only cut yews i gess but the prices for yews have dropped...considerably...and it is harder to level up things like crafting...They won't necessairly have higher totals or skills than p2p just cause they work harder....They work harder on skills but members have more variety of things to do in that level which helps them level faster and not get bored of it...As much as you can on f2p

It varies - If you subtract the method of moneymaking: Merchanting you will find that it is all different based on the psychotic and status of the player.

If a player LIKES a certain way their devotion will vary depending on the skill and many other variables. there are many ways to make money - some more fun than others.

Not all money lies with rune mining. Just so you all know :)

bought yews at 300 each when they where 350 each... no buyers... waited some time yews where below 275 each...

rune ores doesnt run away or drop many... they wont go below 10k each cuz meds alch for 11,6k (1,6k = coal)

The highest alch value per rune bar is 12,8k (Rune Legs)

As a 99 smith you can make some cash off buying the ores as high as 12k ea since you could sell full sets or other random rune junk (although I prefer alching & using the blast furnace + kingdom for coals)

Dead+Dude4.png

as a member i can fish for lobbies nex to a bank and then sell them in f2p for big money. compare that to having to fish in karamja.

It's way harder to make money as F2P than P2P, both when it's about merchanting and skills. Merchanting is alot easier because you can merchant with alot more of items, and skilling is easier because you can make more expensive stuff.
