October 24, 200619 yr What is SO great about having the first post? I notice this alot on nexopia, and a skiing site i go to. I guess there is just something special about being the first person to post in something big? :-s Its especially funny when numerous people are online when the story first comes out and 6 people say first post and make a fool out of themselves.

October 24, 200619 yr It really pisses me off. Do they not get enough attention irl and have to post something that contributes absolutely nothing to the topic? I see it *alot* with the WoW forums, especially if a WoW developer posts, thus making it a 'legendary' thread and the first page is usually: "first page of legendary thread :)" :wall:

October 24, 200619 yr I never see any posts here that say "First Post." I don't know if I've ever saw one, even going back to the Scapeboard days. I don't go out of my saftey zone of OT and M&M very often, maybe that's why I don't see them.

October 24, 200619 yr Yes it's highly irritating, though I must say I see it more on the Runescape related forums than I do in the Off-Topic one. Maybe it's because the person that gets first post gets the most attention or something?

That's so annoying. Who the hell cares you're "posting on a legendary thread"? Does it get you social status you were online while the post was new and you got on the first page? If you have something to say, say it. But reading 3 pages of comments that are "Hi, posting on a legendary thread" is rubbish. It makes you look dumb. I wish Merc moderated the wow forums.

On forums the first post is the topic opener, in this case it would be F_M_N_T's post. If someone posted "first post", it would actually be the second post. That, is what we both said. But I said I've never seen someone post "first post" on forums before. I've only seen it in places where the first post actually is the first post.
