October 25, 200619 yr every1 tired of bothering to go to world 1 / 2 to sell your gear? eveyr1 tired of gettin RSI for typeing really fast to try and sell your gear. well my idea fixes all your problems its fairly simple in fallador to the west there is a 5 unused houses that bear no significance. that is where we build the Auction house now for the harder bit of the plan, the actuall set up of the Auction house When buying items this happens Now its fairly similer when selling items When an item is sold, the money is automaticly sent to your bank. you must have the money on you to buy the items from the auction house. when buying items you can click on what you want. and it pops up to a page, where highest price is at the top Started new account: flipflop v2

October 25, 200619 yr BAD IDEA an auction house would kill runescape its fairly bad now what do you think is going to happen to the economy if this is added prices of common items will be nothing and prices of vauable items will jump really high the harder to find items are still lower prices because with no AH the rich players cant control the market and prices and a rich player still pays higher prices for items because he can't just go and buy 100k coal at 100g with ah he can and the markets will crash and the rich will get richer and the poorer and the game will lose alot of players an AH for runescape with its small number of items is bad, AH's work only when you got a large number of items a player need and different qualites or rarities for those items etc but in runescape rune is rune and dragon is dragon etc +'s no -'s So to recap an Auction House will force players to sell common items far lower (50-60g coal any one?) and force the rare items prices higher. BAD IDEA
October 25, 200619 yr Not if you can set a reserve price. When you put your item up for auction, a reserve price should be set. If the bids do not reach the reserve price, then the item does not sell. Simple.

October 26, 200619 yr alright. I find these and market stall threads very ironic. You have signed up for a forum, correct? signing up gives you privilages to post your topics and opinions. A whole section of these "forums" allows u to have a marketplace and sell all your items instead of going to world 1/2 or watever. This is what the forums are designed to do! instead of creating a uselsess update, just use the forums more, it'd be a lot better. October 26, 200619 yr GReat idea! Also, not all ppl use forums(especially sine they aren't supported by jagex). And the rs forums are members only. No duh there would be minimum bids or reserve prices. Ofcourse, the major market fluctuations would be annoying for merchants(or beneficial), but they're rich and can handle it. These would also be interworld, right? If so, that's great. My personal use would be to sell this stupid Guthix skirt nobody wants to buy. I've tried the forums, I've tried world one and two. Nobody buys it, but it's still worth something. These AH's would allow people to sell these things, and other items that previously had low demand. Such items include: String, low level ores(for newer players), low demand foods(pizza or cake), clothing, talismans etc. Also, would there be an option to posta request for an item not on the Auction boards?

October 27, 200619 yr One auction house for all the worlds isn't going to happen. Do you have any idea how much network traffic that would cause just to get every server the same auction house. It is impossible to do. The load on the servers would be to big and a small lag between a couple of servers would mess everything up. That is also the reason why every time you change wolrd you need to wait until your profile is upload to the new server. They connect every 30 seconds or so. Realtime is not possible. I like the auction house idea but each world will have it's own seperate auction house.

Somebody looks at the price and bids higher, 250 each. Eventually prices are stabilized within a few gp of each other. This would make merchanting only possible in the fluctuation of prices, not in ripping off noobs. It goes like this: "that guy said the price of coal was 50gold. Then he bought it for 75, how nice." then he goes the auction house "wow, it's a lot more expensive here. I'll sell mine for cheap." six hours later "whoa! People sure do want it a lot, 300 for each of my coal!! Neat! Hey, wait a minute, that guy was lying, well I sure won't let that happen again" Then he lives happily ever after.
