Record for spawning a Brother in Barrows?

Well, I am one to double, or even triple spawn the Barrow Brothers in the tunnel. This gives a better chance of getting an item (each brother drops something into the chest, and ocasionally one of their items, so if you kill 2 guthans from double spawning, you can get 2 guthan items, and more of a chance of just one in general). Well it's never worked out for me, but for some it has. Anyways I had a torag tunnel, easy to double spawn. The "Safespot room" was one of the first rooms I entered and I got Torag right away. I then went back through the door, to heal with guthans on a skeleton. Then going back to double spawn, and I get my trusty Torag again. 2 Torags, toughy :P I then do it again, getting a third, and then once more to get a 4th (3 on one side, and 1 on the other). I'm amazed. Rarely do I ever get 4. So then I thought, is it possible for more? I've never seen more. I go through the door 4 more times (back and forth twice) and comes out to be...

The four torags I have are on the opposite side of the door, and the one that I'm nearby is all by itself. There you go, my record number of spawned Barrow Brothers. 5 :anxious: Btw, I killed them all with my trusty ancients.

That is what I've been told at least. I could be wrong but I saw some guy on Tif kill no brothers except for guthan and ended up with full guthan by the end of the week, and since there were no other drops... Just makes sense.

The most I've gotten was 4. 4 Karils. Get one, go through the door to get ready, get another one, panic and go through the door again, get another one, gather my wits, and realize the side with only 1 is better to deal with, go through again, get another one, and then realize the red bar is in danger, and PANIC BUTTON to ecto.

Hehe.

Btw, killing more than any one brother does not increase your drops, or your chances. The chest reads the brother as either dead or not.

It will not give you 5 different rune drops if you kill all five, and the only thing that it will do for you is increase your kill count.

So, I kill one, and leave the rest. Rats are a wee bit easier to kill for kill count.

My record is 4 Karils as well, that almost killed me IRL and in game :wall:

I went in, he popped up, went through the door to pot up and stuff, another showed up, so I went through and once again a Karil shows up, then, panicing and at about 50 hp, I went through the door (1 is better then 2 ;)) and another showed up, hit a 20 on me and I hit my trusty ecto. But, that's a lot of torags o.O.

5 spawns of same brother could be a record..never heard this number before.. And ive done a few trips myself.

What I still dont understand is what is causing this phenomenon. Why opening 90% of time the same door without respawning, and then suddenly ...boom.. twinbrothers... could it be related with killcount, time spent, order of killing in barrows or tunnels, or just 'luck' ?

i dunno really...i heard that kc doesn't actually increase chances much, but each brother leads to a big proportion of luck, so lets say 1 brother=2% chance of an item, and like 1 monster=0.2% chance, then killing like 10 brothers is a 20% chance of an item, i've had 3 double brothers and gotten an item of one of them, it may just be coincidence, but it was after a 38 run dry spell..so maybe they do help

Wow. 5 Torags.

I don't do Barrows runs much myself, so I have never had a multiple-spawn type thing happen to me. I guess I am lucky like that.

If I did get multiple brothers I would probably freak out too much to beat them anyway. -.-
