I don't watch a lot of TV. :? . I only watch certain shows, and I don't waste time browsing to see what's on. I usually record the Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, House, CSI: LV, and all the sports I'm interested in.

Yea MTV does kinda piss me off. RealWorld is so much crap and, FYI, I'm the kinda guy that if were in a white room and there is a kid running around saying "the room is black the room is black the room is black!" I would seriosuly just punch him in the face. I'm not a violent guy but it gets under my skin when I know something for a fact and someone else tries to say the oppsite.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway, I have family friend, an elder relitive actually, who lives in SouthBeach. My family went down to visit him last year around spring break. The beaches were simply packed with old guys and 30 year old guys looking for the types of girls they see on MTV. Ironically that night we saw an new episode of RealWorld SoBe and lo and behold, everyone seen by the camera was hot and under 22. Then back in Wisconsin when I return from my trip everyone asks me if I met any of the girls on the show and if I went to any of those parties -.-

Kinda funny though, we are all to blame for the music MTV shows. This may sound racist but hear me out: The majority of white middle class americans teens are computer literate. They all know about Kazaa and iTunes and such. However inner city black american kids probably aren't as educated in these matters so they go out and buy CDs from rappers and "gangsters". These CD sales are far higher then, say, techno due to the fact that while there are tons of Techno fans, most of them download the music. So MTV shows what they think matches the biggest audiance, after years of this mainstream kids join in and now white rich teens (even girls) sit and watch shows about rappers and drugs, and during this entire time the rappers get richer and richer getting 'grillz' and chrome Escalades, etc, etc.

MTV and VH1, DUMB. I find it to have terrible music and even more terrible shows.

If you want to listen to music, turn on the radio. The videos can be watched on the internet. Seriously if it bugs you that much, just don't watch it?

Ha well im an MTV/MTV2 Fan, watch The Best Week/Yr and I Love the... on VH1.

I love techno!! Club techno is the best! However, it's really only popular in Europe, and in discotheque's in Europe. I don't even think MTVE shows any techno, but maybe I'm wrong.

Trapical, i see what you are getting at, and youre right. Its not being stereotypical or rascists, its the truth. The station focuses on the target group or populace that watches that channel. Unfortunately, around where i live, there is maybe 2 black families (exaggeration, but still) and everyone who watches that channel ARE middle class and white. Thats one of the reasons it pisses me off, because it makes everyone around me listen to only rap, which techincally isnt a form of music. Music requires instruments, not drum machines and the same annoying sound clip played over the whole song.
