Attractions To Skills?

For some unknown reason, I enjoy expensive skills. I guess partly because it forces me to runecraft and push my way towards 91. I guess also because from what I've seen, expensive skills are the least popular to train.

So some of these include construction, prayer, herblore, farming, crafting... :)

Slaying is probably my most addictive task. I just love the variety although it can get a bit annoying when you keep gettin' tasks you really don't want (i.e. jungle horrors or black dragons).

Farming is my fave skill after that... just coz it's hard and you get respect for having a high level.

I started mining and smithing with the idea of making my own armor and swords. Now I realized that with a high non-combat skill set I will never have to worry about gp. I need some money for a quest or to speed train a lower skill, I just go and make cannon balls, mine pure ess, or even fletch some arrows(which btw makes it real nice to train range). There is always a way for me to make money now which makes things so much easier. I know some find it repetitive but I've never found it boring, I just move between a couple skills to keep things fresh. It also helps to have a dual monitor system so you can read guides and forums.

i would have to say, magic for a combat relted skill, but for any none combat related skill, i woud say.... fletching/wood cutting/rune crafting/ i dont know why, i just seemd awkwardly drawn to them

Mining- I wanted to mine rune to get rich. Got 85, never really mined rune though

Strength- I like to hit high, plus it was the most important pking skill on rs1

Theiving- Pickpocketing paladins on rs1 was amazingly fast and you got caught a ton less.

Slayer- Great items as slayer monster only drops, plus it complements my strength training.

Range because its awesome when you can be like half a mile away and smack people with 19's

Magic because of the snares....and thats it

Defense because it makes people angry that their 85 atk and 85 str just got owned by 1 skill...and it lets me run around in castle wars longer

Agility because in the wilderness, besides your prayer, hp, and defense, it will be the only thing that'll help you escape

I never particularly liked the risk when doing combat, hence I have remained the same combat level in over a year and a half now. I pretty much enjoy everything else apart from combat, I'm even partial to a bit of range on the odd occasion.

I like to do the less popular skills: Farming, Herblore, Crafting. Slayer and MTK keeps my Farming skill going, Herblore is my money makey, and I try to just break even with Crafting.

umm its got to be runecrafting at the moment... all be it none of my choice, bbalking (with his undisclosed jelousy :P) helped me alot in deciding what skill to do.

but yeah competing with friends has always kept me going and striving to better myself :D

(on an extra note, thanks bbal for giving me a discrete little shout out :3> )

edit: spelling

Slayer is my favorite skill, lots of different tasks, amazing moneymaker.

Second is farming because it just too easy to level. I get tree seeds from Miscellenia and herb seeds from slayer monsters. Every day I log on I harvest and replant all trees and herbs, then move on to slayer and do a round of herbs after every task. Now I'm 84 farming without really trying :P

Slayer is my favorite (slayer 94)

But since I am cb 126, i slay less as I loose the cb xp for the levels

Therefore now I train all skills, with the objective to be the highest possible in highscore (total 1928, around 850th) \'
