killersushipunk
My school is raising money to build a dam in Kenya. I am on a homeroom group to try and raise money for this The dam will give clean water to about 2,000 people, and will cost $6,000. If anybody has any ideas for a fundraiser, please post them. We have already raised about $1,000 through a raffle and coin drives. We need to get the money before the school year ends. The ideas need to be reasonable for a school with about 800 students and their parents, so no Live Aid concerts or Bono or anything like that. Ideas we already have (or bad ideas for any reason): ~Raffle ~Coin drive ~Homeroom Competition ~Magazine sale ~Selling wristbands ~Selling junk food Cool people (those who have helped) Me :3> Darkmage099 Astralinre ShadowFaxPZ Petey Ideas: Concert Bake sale Movie night Silent Auction I used to have a link to my school's project to provide fresh water to a Kenyan Village, but the sig police changed the link to say something, which, if followed, leads to an "ahem" adult website. Let me ask you. Which do you think is worse?

Astralinre
Bake sales, carwashes, and that sort of thing are great for making some money. And while you can't have a Live Aid concert, there's probably someone in your school who has a band, who would be willing to do a benefit concert. Hope that helps. :) "In so far as I am Man I am the chief of creatures. In so far as I am a man I am the chief of sinners." - G.K. The magazine thing isn't such a good idea, becuase our school already uses it to get money for otner stuff. I like the food sale thing though! Pink
We're doing a battle of the bands to raise money. It will get us an estimated $3,000 and our school has 700 people in it. We have 10 bands comming, charging $7 for an entry ticket per person. We have two other middle schools where most of the students are comming and a larger highschool (with 1,500 some) comming. We also have one really good band comming...

She offered to play so kids could come to the gym and hear her play (and miss class) I'm not sure that $7 would be right for us, but I still like it! Faux
In our DECA chapter, we had a (successful) movie night and a coffee sale. Movie Night - Set up a projector to play a DVD. We had Scary Movie 4 (Halloween theme) - Don't sell tickets. - Make money from selling pizza and pop. Keep in mind that we sold even more pizzas in the school's lobby (front hall) to make more profit. Coffee Sale Fall/Winter weather - people want something to keep them warm. I think this was more profitable than movie night. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

The FBLA club at my school does a "Rude Awaking" coffee shop every morning, They sell a handfull of different kinds of coffees and hot chocolate and a bunch of cookies. From what i hear they really make some bank on it. Gamertag: King Arizona
jak722
Ask restaurants or other place of business if you can place Tip jars on their counter for people to donate. Or even ask those restaurants themselves if they could donate a few things. Ask your city hall or something for a few funds. Ask your local paper if they can mention your cause in their paper. Go busking in a public place for money. Do a walkaton or a "march for *insert cause here" type event. Look for sponsors and companies willing to advertise through your group. Try doing auctions. Set up an outdoor barbeque. Set up an online website and get donations from people, or from advertising. Try a car wash. Bingo night? A water ducky race or with anything that floats. (found this on the web) Make your own stuff like t-shirts, posters, calendars, stickers and sell them for slightly higher than the material cost. Go door to door and beg, hehe... Or sell candies and stuff. Your shame is your limit! Err... I mean good luck! : The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. WutangFlu
At our school we sometimes have feeds.. like say Burgers, chips, pop, and a bar for $5-6 and we usually get a few hundred $$ profit from it.
xvillexvalox
Write a letter to Angelina Jolie, "save your yet-not-adopted children!!" But seriously, ask your school to hold a district dance, entrance fees at 15 dollars, and a donation box up front. The sucess/profit from this all depends from how many people are in yuor district. (in my high school of 4000 (9000 in district), homecoming dances bring in a pretty penny at 15$ per person) Well, I'm running blank on ideas, hope this helped? SLOWSTORM
We've had alot of luck selling coupon books. I think the company's called Fun Rays, or something like that. They run through the UPS Store. Might be worth checking out. ;-) When you are learning, you are growing. If you stop learning, you stop growing. If you stop growing, you die.
