I am not sure if it is not english, but it does not sound like it. It is in my signature. it is another way of saying goodbye I think...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pronounced 'Sie-o-nar-a', is kind of an English/Spanish way to say goodbye. Probably most notably English slang, but it might have some Spanish roots.

A Japanese education observation team came to visit my school and I had to be a leading guide. We (me and 3 other guides) had to learn some cheezy japanese lines, such as hello, thank you, and goodbye. Sayonara (goodbye) was one of them.
