LeonardMart
Maybe you could add a few training tips like: starting with the crimson swift is not so good because you have to wait for them and for now there is a lot of competence for the birds. Better try tracking the polar kebbit, it gives less xp but faster. Keep catching the best trackable creature until lvl 15 and go for the ruby harvest butterflies until lvl 20 and trap the tropical wagtails with 2 traps at a time. At 23 use the deadfall on wild kebbits. they give good xp even until lvl 28.I didnt try catching the sapphire glacialis butterfly as the kebbits gave me still fast xp, but butterflies give also nice xp so maybe you could try it at lvl 25. Now im lvl 28 so i cannot reccomend more things. maybe kill kebbits till lvl 29 and go for the lizards abomb67 edit: I used a slightly different method. I used two snares and butterfly catching at snow area (level 25) to get maximum xp. Also, wouldnt it just be quicker to stay at the ruby harvest with two snares until level 25, all that moving around slows your training, and it doesnt take that long anyway. I will look into adding a training section into the guide, but no promises. Many people have different ideas, and it could just cause an argument. blacktaurus
Polar butterfly is Snowy Knight, not Night. Spotted Kebbit gives 105xp, not 104... That's for now, if i find anything else, i'll let you know... abomb67 edit: updated. Thanks

NukeMarine
Catching salamanders - bait is not mandatory to catch salamanders. Just set net, smoke it and stand away from it. Making the tar: You get herblore experience making the tar ammo. It's also "Make X" so that's cool. Getting Swamp Tar: Tar is available as monster drop (anybody know any) or from Lumbridge swamp. Though stackable, Guam Tar: 30 xp Harralander Tar: 72.5 xp Herb Tar has to be wielded in ammo slot. Right Click to get that option. Each color salamander can ONLY use the tar type assigned to it. Experience using Salamander Range - 4 times damage Melee - 4 times damage Mage - 2 times damage, NO SPLASH EXPERIENCE (it says defensive stance, but only mage gets xp). All combat types are close combat. Max Damage (using Black Salamander) - appears to based off Range skill for range (20% your skill level), Mage skill for mage (25% your skill level) and Str Bonus (standard formula). Speed is 20 shots per minute Although it's flame damage, fire breath shield and anti-fire potions do not hinder damage. abomb67 edit: Very useful for the ranged guide, will forward that along. Eddo89
What Agamoto means earlier is that there is no longer a link to the Construction Guide, if you press the link to Skill Guides, it does not show the link to it. The page is still since I used search to get there, just heads up on that. Not demanding or anything, but a map of each hunting area really helps, took me 10 minutes to find the Crimson's spot because I was walking around in cricles. abomb67 edit: have no fear, maps are in the works, they just take longer than the written guide. We will get that construction guide link fixed. Templar GuardiansWhen are trying to lend something, the word to use is borrow. Not barrows, which is a mini-game. ty10124
my guide is easy and i have 55 hunting lvl 1. Crimson swift till lvl 9 lvl 9. Copper longtail till lvl 19 lvl 19. Tropical wagtail till lvl 29 lvl 29. Swamp lizard till lvl 41 (Swamp lizard are easy xp if you use 2 traps) lvl 41. Horned graahk till lvl 43 (after you get a perfect fur and 2 near perfect furs take them to verrock and get the rmor made then go back, the rmor makes it easyer to hunt) lvl 43. Spotted kebbit till lvl 49 (you need an egal for this part, just go to the npc and borrrow one for 500 gp) lvl 49. Razorbacked kebbit till lvl 51 (i would make a tracking guide but way to lazy, there is a method to them thu) lvl 51. Sabretooth kebbit till lvl 55 (bring the following: knife, axe, tinderbox, torch, fill the rest of space with logs) there are trees around you but people are always cutting them, also pick up a raw bird meat that people drop. madlax1974
One can find swamp tar in Lumbridge Swamp. I have a better idea. Hunt Cave slime in Lumbrige dungeon. They are 100% Swamp Tar (1-9). Remember spiny, anti-poison, and a light source (not a open flame). This way one can get a lot of swamp tar faster, then runing around in Lumbrdge swamp. Masterd99
This is my strategy and it seems to be working extremely well. Levels 1-11 Polar Tracking Levels 11-29 Cerulean Twitch snares (at 25 add in butterfly catching while waiting for birds) Levels 29-47 Green Swamp Salamanders Levels 47-59 Orange Desert Salamanders Levels 59-67 Red Salamanders Levels 67+ Black Salamanders A tip when net trapping, Keep an extra set of small fishing net and rope with you incase your trap collapses and someone is attempting to take your spot. It saves that valuable 2-3 seconds of picking up your rope and net off the ground. Quest Cape - 10/18/2006

blacktaurus
Here's a tidbit another user found on Official Forums - it seems Gloves of silence do not last forever. Something bad about the Gloves for thieving, they break too fast.. I used them twice for pickpocketing they broke on first fail, when my victim hit me. I have used gloves twice on Paladins at 83 Thieving. I pickpocket and get hit by the victim I got a message saying; "Your Gloves of Silence have worn out." I have 54 Hunter so I can wear them. However a friend uses them on Master Farmers with no breakage, her Thieving is 74. So be prepared to lose your Gloves of Silence at some time. EDIT; I won't be using them again. Two pairs broken in less than 30 attempts = not good, not good at all.. So looks like they are no good for thieving anyway.. I bet that girl with lvl 74 almost never get caught thieving farmer. Thats why she doesn't loose hers. I'm 62 Thieving, and I have strange feeling, that these gloves give nothing to me... While pickpocketing Master Farmer number of succesful attempts was very similar to failed ones... Sometimes I failed 10 times in a row...
zyrm
as far as i can tell the butterflies raise your stast by a random amount i tried ruby harvest on someone 3 times with 76 attack 1st time raised by 5 2nd by 16 3rd by 14 he used one on me and it raised my atk by 18 from 81 black warlock aso raised his str from 84 to 100 and 99 the snd time i havnt tried with the other butterlfies but i dont know if its based on your original lvl or random they wont allow you to take butterflies into cwars to use butterflies they must have their accept aid on ive just caught about 30 of each butterfly and ill begin more experimenting with them it might also be worth noting that jungle trees near hunting spots have been updates so you can chop them for wood [omg] who cares if its nerfed or fixed.... you people will argue over the color of a green apple if it was a topic on this fourm god. nimdop
right, Ive updateed my guide... sort of... to get to lvl 43 from 41 you need to hunt approxy. 30 graahks, but bring some decent shield, an axe, a few lobs, antipoison, and DONT FORGET TEASING STICK AND KNIFE!!! catch spooted kebbits until 47 (black warlocks at 45 are slower and give less xp) at 47 catch orange salamanders (dont bring bait its really the same thing) until 53 53 catch chinchompas until 55 55 pitfall kyatts until 57 57 catch dark kebbits until 59 59 catch red salamanders until 63 63 catch red chinchompas until 67/69 67 catch black salamanders in lvl 20 wilderness (not advised) 69 catch dashing kebbits until 71 71 catch imps until 80 :wall: 80 catch imps 5 at a time until 99 99 get hunter cape and gloat about it! \ http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k312/Nimdop/DA.jpg
Joker4515
I don't know if this is the right spot for this but I was walking around with some chinchompas and I was at the Khzard battlefield, I attacked a Khzard warrior and there was one next to it. My chinchompa hit BOTH the warriors. At first I thought this was someone else fighting it with like a bow or something. But then another warrior came behind the one i was fighting and I hit all 3! CobraL1
The Gloves of Silence have a limit to them. After you are caught (pickpocketing) a certain number of times, they dissapear. I'm not sure of the limit, my friend just told me her's dissappeared. I think it's a rather good thing to know ahead of time, eh? I won't call the hospital because you won't learn anything if I do. darkblade986
Spotted Kebbit Spotted Cape Spotted Cape 40 Reduces your weight (reportedly 2kg) The cape actually gives -3 kg to your stats. I am lvl 45 Hunting and just made a bunch of capes personally. I weigh -1 kg in my jungle camo and boots of lightness, and -4 kg with a cape equipped. abomb67 edit: We have it confirmed at -2 This may mean it's -2.5kg, where he was somewhere between -1.5kg and -1.9kg, so if the cape reduced 2.5kg, it would appear rounded to 4... Can't confirm it myself but opening up the door to the possibility. EDIT: Possible confirmation of this idea in next post. Also, I took the liberty of making a map of all the paths in the Woodland Tracking area for Common Kebbits. I was planning to do the Jungle one next, but got a little bored. Quality could definately be improved by someone... and the key is as followed... The Paths all lead to a bush, which if desired could be painted a solid color. The Dust-Brown spots are the burrows, and (obviously) the red lines are the paths. I am 99.9% confident I obtained all the paths, and the only one I might be missing is one from the bottom center to the middle, but I don't see anything to show that their might be. http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/5016/speaktrackingspotyp9.png A little small, I know... I forgot to fix that before uploading and quality isn't harmed much if you increase it's size by 200% (per MS Paint's Sketch/Skew option) don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
darkblade986
Possible confirmation of my thought of -2.5k with spotted cape, and would kinda make sence with the other cape... With Cape http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/5900/withcapern5.png Without Cape http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/9272/withoutcapeny0.png By "kinda make sence" means that if the higher cape gives -5kg, then it would probably seem more likely to give half for the lower cape rather than an abstract 3 less. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
Mr_Blueboy
I agree with Dark: The spotted capes lower your weight by about 2.5kg. I was going to post that, but he beat me to it. Proud owner of a quest point cape.
pokemama
I noticed different readings from my spottier cape as well: sometimes -4kg, sometimes -5kg depending on what else I had. Obviously fractional amounts are involved. So: we need someone with time on their hands to conduct some rigorous experiments to figure out how much the capes really reduce weight. This activity is not for the faint of heart. ;D it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
