December 2, 200619 yr Well, I just got back from Detroit Metro, because we were taking my exchange student so he could go back for a while to Slovenia. He was flying Detroit-Chicago-Warsaw-Ljubljana. Ah, but the atmosphere was amazing, reminded me of waiting for him to arrive with the Slovak player when they first arrived in America. There was so much internationalism, people speaking other languages, people hustling about going from place to place. I loved it, I wish I could be there right now, I'd hop on a plane to Europe in a heartbeat. :P Anyways, anyone else love airports or airplanes? Or have any good stories? Me doing staff.
December 2, 200619 yr  I got lost in an airport once. When I finally emerged to the parking lot, I saw my mom arguing with security because she had parked in the wrong place. Airport security is very rude. :-k
December 2, 200619 yr one time I was at an airport waiting for my flight and I saw a pinball machine and started playing it. I only bought one game, 50 cents. I got like 12 extra balls and doubled the highscore before I had to get on the plane. I had to go so I just let the extra balls fall down and I counted at around 8-12 (dont really remember). I guess I'm a pinball wizard and didn't even know it. btw that game lasted 30-40 minutes before I let my extra balls just die.
December 2, 200619 yr I love aeroports too. The athmosphere is truly brilliant, especially in the morning. Big glass windows and the orange morning sun shining through them. My favourite place is that tax-free zone (I have no idea what it is called) after security check, so many languanges, so many last calls, so much swarming people all around the world. I never get used to it! And of course all that excitement before boarding the plane. I remember when I went through security check at alicante aeroport in Spain and I glanced at the x-ray monitor: Suitcase of a person behind me went by the screen and it showed two grenades, one revolver and a knife. Next bag revealed two large guns and two knives, and the guard operating the x-ray machine didn't do anything. So do they have some kind of lookahead programs on x-ray monitors or something? December 2, 200619 yr Author Yea, at the terminal there was some people speaking Czech, French, Bosnian, Arabic, etc. And while waiting for our players a while ago, I eaves dropped on an amazing story some people were telling their friend about their travels to the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland. Agh, it was truly amazing! And of course, it's really fun to try and guess where people are from or going. And I agree, airport windows are awesome!! But they are so big, you can get lost. We got lost going back to the parking garage. Me doing staff.

They probably didn't want to cause a ruckus. I'm sure they pulled him and his luggage aside out of site of the public. Calling him out right there may have worried onboarding passengers. And they might have canceled their flights. Me doing staff.

They didn't do a thing, but when my sister had small scissors in her backbag, they stopped her and went through all her stuff. December 2, 200619 yr I've had bad experiences with airports :? on my way home from Florida one time our flight got delayed and we had to spend the night in the airport... it was freezing cold in there and we all had shorts and short sleeve shirts on :( i ended up sleeping under the chairs there covered up with newspapers, i looked like a hobo lol 8-) 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.
December 2, 200619 yr I hate them. The delays, the queues, the security, the hoardes of unruly children running riot. Food's normally rubbish, nowhere to sit, the only entertainment is looking at the books which won't fit in my suitcase. I love going on holiday, but I prefer it when I get there. December 2, 200619 yr Airports are cool...For a minute. They have some cool stuff, but if you have to wait 4 hours in one, it gets really boring. This summer, I had to spend 4 and a half hours in Newark. In fact, I'll give you the whole story... I left my house that day at around 5 PM. This was right after the Big Dig incident, in which a woman was killed. So we had to go the long way. But so did everyone else. As in pretty much everyone. The following will only be understandable to Bostonians. We had to go to the north, near Cambridge and the Science Museum. We were stopped on the drawbridge because a cruise ship or something had to go UNDER the bridge. The police station is nearby, and that's where they control the bridge. But also, there's an automatic sensor in which the drawbridge thingies go down when a boat is about to come through. So the thingy goes up and down, and everyone is stuck on the bridge. And the boat is stuck out in the Atlantic Ocean. Then after we get through the bridge, we get stuck in traffic. Half an hour later, we get to the airport. And we BARELY make it on. We get to Newark, and we have four and a half hours before we leave for Seattle. We ate, looked around, then just waited. For a long time. Boring. Me = Asleep. And Logan is the worst American airport. At least according to my dad, who has flown to pretty much every major American city. Just kind-of-randomly, I'll list as many airports I've been to as I can think of: Logan (Boston) Newark Dulles BWI Orlando Atlanta Nashville Detroit Seattle San Francisco Honolulu Toronto Vancouver Chiang Kai Shek (Taipei) Domestic Taipei Airport Taichung (Taiwan) Fong-Yuan (Taiwan) Hua-Lien (Taiwan) Heathrow Other Airport in London I can never remember the name of (G-something) Edinburgh Yeah, I fly a lot. My first flight was when I was 8 months old. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
December 2, 200619 yr I love airports and airplanes.. I do infact have a story, but due to me being lazy I'll keep it short and simple. A few years ago I was on a flight to Hawaii with my family and there was a passanger a few rows ahead of us who was drunk. The stewardess refused to serve him anymore alcohol so he got mad and stole some alcohol from where ever they keep it. They finally calmed him down and I'm fairly sure he was arrested when we landed in Hawaii. Well, it was better if you were there.. :P Internet Marketing For Newbies
December 2, 200619 yr I love Airports! I never get bored. I just watch planes take off, or eat food and snacks :P. Plus, you are so anxious to get on, it's...erm..may I say, Wonderful! :D I go on Airplanes a lot, because we tend to go on more vacations than the average family..but not anymore, we'll be spending summers at our new family cottage :). My mom and my aunt own it, so I have lots of fun with my cousins up there :P
December 2, 200619 yr I've had bad experiences with airports :? on my way home from Florida one time our flight got delayed and we had to spend the night in the airport... it was freezing cold in there and we all had shorts and short sleeve shirts on :( i ended up sleeping under the chairs there covered up with newspapers, i looked like a hobo lol 8-) Hah, I forgot all about that.. That was a horrible night. How about I tell the story in some detail? We were leaving Florida and there was a bad storm so our flight was delayed for about an hour. Anyways we got in Cincinatti about 10 minutes after we were supposed to be on our next flight. Well the flight crew knew our flight had been delayed in Florida and appearently couldn't hold the flight for a few minutes. So we went to see if there were anymore flights we could get on that night. There weren't any so we asked for our luggage sos our lu that we would have warm clothes for the night. They refused to give luggage since we had booked a flight for the next morning. So we spent the whole night in an ice cold airport. That is the one time I've ever hated an airport.. December 2, 200619 yr I once stayed overnight in Vancouver airport. I love airports, but, that night sucked. Nothing is open there.

December 3, 200619 yr I had a terrible time at the airport 2 weeks ago. I was coming from LA X going to Calgary. We have a 6:45 am flight and we had to be at the airport at 4 or so. And the only shuttle we could catch from Anaheim was at 1:45. SO we get to the airport at like 2:30, and the airport doesnt even open until 5. And they only had 2 benches in the whole area. So i feel asleep bent over my suitcase and when i woke up i have morning mouth and i felt like [cabbage] the whole time.
December 3, 200619 yr Last year in August, we had to stay at the airpot for nine hours, it was pretty fun. Only thing I hated was going through crowds of people in the eating area. On or way back, our flight was delayed so we got to spend a night at the hotel :D I miss that comfy bed...
December 3, 200619 yr Gahhhh!!!! I HATE AIRPORTS!! I have the story why: A while ago, my dad, sister, and I were going to Florida from Newark Airport. We got the the airport, everything seemed fine until we had to go get out tickets. My dad booked everything months before this and we were going to pick up the tickets there. We tell them our names and stuff and find out we only have 2 tickets for 3 people. They didn't mark mine and my dad's middle initial. So because we have the same first and last name, I guess they thought it was 1 person. We had to wait 5+ hours to get it straightened out. It was like hell freezing over then taking a blow-drier to unfreeze it. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
December 3, 200619 yr I remember in the airport once. My mom saw these actors and she was like 'omg, take a picture' I had to drag her away to stop the embarassment :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
December 3, 200619 yr I once stayed overnight in Vancouver airport. I love airports, but, that night sucked. Nothing is open there. That's unusual. I've been in airports of every continent and most of the time, shops and facilities at the airport work 24/7 (given that people are constantly arriving from different timezones). The only exception I met was in an argentinian airport at night, at 1:20am local time only the bathrooms and a caf̮̩̉̉ with some sandwich and drinks on sale were open. The taxfree shop and everything else was closed. I guess it was just some kind of program that recognizes similar shapes of weapons. They didn't do a thing, but when my sister had small scissors in her backbag, they stopped her and went through all her stuff. The first statement is correct. They wouldn't even be able to pass through the metal detector let alone the inspector with knives or grenades, and if they really detected them, tens of security reinforcements and special ops would be there before you could blink your eyes. They use those programs in most airports, so don't be surprised when your bag is being scanned and the monitor insists you have a semiautomatic machine gun in your bag. It's just a distinctly similar shape.
