remmeber practice makes perfect, also its advised not to post your first peice of work unless it happens to be really good...

This is where they want I should sign?

I didnt say it was bad I'm just saying a general rule...

This is where they want I should sign?

I only insulted it because you went and insulted every MSPaint'er by claiming your sig only sucks because you made it in paint.

Paint isnt the best program on the block so I (ME) found it a bit hard to do does that answer your question 'mature boy?'

I do understand what you're saying, do you understand what I am saying? You said, in your very first post "i only used paint though." That sounds like you're saying that paint is the reason why your signature is bad. Saying that insults me as an MSPainter. I'd appreciate you blaming the bad quality of your signature because you're a beginner, not because you used MSPaint. Just because you didn't find MSPaint easy, doesn't mean it's not the "best program on the block." In fact, it is one of the best.

C/c: I think you should make the "dragon longsword" look more like a sword and less like a stocking/leg/sock. The big, blue blob in the top left corner looks just like that. A big, blue blob.

By the way, did you wake up this morning saying to yourself, "I think I'm going to post a crappy signature that everyone can flame." Well, the good thing is, there is no way it was ripped.

draw lines with your 1px pencil tool and edit intill your satisfied, try spending more time with the line work and maybe shade a little. Dont forget to zoom in to get neater stuff.

Women, put your handbags down please.

There are several elements to making a good pixel signature.

A background

A main subject (character or something else)

Sub-characters (normally)

-shading/highlights

-light sources

-depth

-anatomy

If you include all those elements then you should have a nice signature.

spacescenev24.jpg

Great things can be accomplished in MS Paint. If you look at Faelenof and Demented Hero's current signature threads you can see the amazing works they have done. I also made my signature in MS Paint as well.

Colour- You used too bright a colours and the default MS Paint colours as well. Double click a colour to change them. Go to custom colour and choose something around the middle of the Colour board.

Anatomy- Even though it's not using people. Your items can be hard to make out what they are. Try using the line tool making short lines at a time. This way you can make good curves and straight lines.

Also, how you react to peoples post can determine your reputation further on. If you take people's C/C , and not blame MS paint for the quality of your sigs people can treat you with respect, etc. However, if you flame people and blame the program, not the artist, people wont take you too seriously.

Just work on the thing's I, and everyone here, has suggested and you will improve. :D

paint isn't an excuse look at terlys work

Or MXM.....or GS

anyways, work on the lineart, make it smoother, and actually try to make it look semi realistic. Do not jsut use default colors that are on the default pallete, double click on a color then click "dfine custom colors" and you can change the color to an extent (I find it to be limited at times :x ) this is vital for shading, and also for geeting a more realistic outcome. Look at the tutorials on this site in the stickies, they are very good for starters. If you are really commited, check places like the pixeljoint, where you can study shading and linework tactics. Thats all my C/C as of now..

better, but NEVER save pixle work as jpeg, save as .PNG it saves the quality of the work.

Mayby you should save image to .png file :D

Here is some advice:

1. When you draw picture, zoom it to x8 or x6 and then you can do good work.

2. Learn to make shades. I have trained long time but still not perfect.

Good in that picture is that there is no contour.

I post later on this topic some picture which you can copy and paste to paint and zoom it. Then you see how you have to make shades.

Sorry about bad English.

New Sig Coming soon!

i made a very, very fast mini pixel tut that may be able to help you with linework a tiny bit. i dont know about others, but i learn by watching, so this is animated. not much text, and its a small scale pixel so you cant really see detail. but it outlines the basic steps in making a pixel.

ill consider making a better tut, animated, at some stage.

I've taken MORE advice and made V3.

I've dropped the rune full helm.

09f719550fdb82a41cc724ce46d5f579.png

some things you did wrong was making the dragon helm too square and the edges of it should be round. the dragon long should be thinner. The letting was made a bit more round in mine and i added some space at the bottom since the letters where so close to the bottom. Did this a while ago but forgot to post it, just found it today. Never save as jpg, it was a horrid sight when i opened it with paint.

Here is it with a non-pixeled font, looks a lot better and people dont really give you a hard time about you not pixeling it.
