Locke
Old thread, but the other day Obama formed a presidential exploratory commitee. Looks like he is running. I'd say he looks into it and makes a 1976-Reagan like run for it just to test the waters. He's behind Hillary and all the major Republican choices in all the polls, and he has dropped in the polls, not moved up. I think he needs to prove himself more. He's a great speaker - but what does that mean he'll do? His 2 years in the Senate haven't shown us much so far.
Arcticrunite
Well, if Obama needs Lousiana to win to win the seat in the White House. He aint winning. Read this. HARVEY, Ill. -- New Orleans' football season is all but over. That's the message Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has for Saints fans when their team comes to Chicago for Sunday's NFC Championship Game. "The Bears are going to the Super Bowl," a gleeful Obama told reporters Monday outside a church in suburban Chicago. "I am happy for New Orleans. I think it's a wonderful story for their city, but this fairy tale ends when they come to Chicago." The winner of the Saints-Bears matchup will head to Miami to play either the Indianapolis Colts or New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Feb. 4. The prediction from the state's junior senator, considered an early favorite for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, struck little fear into Louisiana's congressional delegation. "All I'll say is that the Saints reflect the same spirit of hope and recovery that the people of New Orleans have," said Adam Sharp, a spokesman for Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La. "Every challenge that comes up and is put in front of them, they surmount every one. And we're looking forward to the game." Obama said he was pleased with quarterback Rex Grossman during the Bears' 27-24 overtime win against Seattle. "The defense bent but it did not break," he said. "And Grossman looked all right." I think he just screwed himself out of a vote by them Cajuns :/
Celt23
Thus far Obama sounds like a better candidate to me. Whichever is nominated, they'd both set a record if elected. Clinton: First Woman Presidant Obama: First Black Presidant
mad4u689
If the election comes down to McCain and Obama, two of the few big politicians I actually trust and don't dislike extremely, I will be orgasmic. Finally, an election where it isn't "the lesser of two evils". We can hope. Gamertag: King Arizona

Bubsa
Who'll win? Race or Gender? America decides! Seems to me that too much is being made on the fact that one could be the first black prez and the other the first female. Right now, I'd slag off the media and America and such, but to be perfectly honest, I don't think it's avoidable. I just hope enough people look past that and focus on what America desperately needs: A respectable presidency. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
