School Shootings

Lol the only problem across the Atlantic is kids thinking it's cool to waltz into class one morning and happily stab someone for being the wrong colour, or whatever. Then they waltz out again and get sent to juvenile for a few years.

A couple months ago there was a threat racial threat written several places around my school and people had excused absences from school, but I went anyways. I'm no pansy. Plus there was at most 9 people in my classes (30 people in my biggest class), so all we did was have fun.

But I didn't feel the need to tell everyone about it.

Wow we get nothing like that here in England, America truly is a dangerous place :|

Yeah, you gotta be hardcore tough to make it in these streets.

There's a lot of gang activity at my school. 90% of the black kids (most of the school) have joined the gang that they call "the Westsides."

Then I think we also have the Crips and the Klan.

:|

There are many fights a day...Oh I would say at least 4 or 5, and the cops that camp at our school all day have to drag the kids and about 5 kids have to help the cops hold them down because they are so violent.

This is high school, but holy hell. One kid was arrested for selling marijuana. No wonder the kids are so stoned and stupid all the time.

I don't see students in America being any more or less violent than students in another countries.

Chechens are the only source of school shootings in Russia...

the russians are the best! Hands down!

We've had threats like that before. And we have at least one bomb threat a year. I can't even count the number of times someone has brought a gun to school. It's only a matter of time, in my opinion.

My school is about 50/50% black and white. We never really have any racial violence.

Stuff like all this never happens at my school  . In my tenure at least we never had a gun, bomb threat, or any real gang violence (even though my school's in the trashy part of town). There's a handful of fights every term and a bit of drugs but that's about it.

For what it's worth the school is pretty much 50/50 white and mexican with some asians and blacks for good measure.

There's never been a shooting (threat) at my school that I've been informed of. There were multiple bomb threats before I moved from the junior high to the high school. If someone in my school threatened us with a gun/knife I wouldn't be very afraid. It would take some balls to kill another person..

If a guy held a gun to my head, it would scare the [cabbage] out of me. Knife, not so much. Just run like hell.

But just because you have a gun doesn't mean you can aim. For example, alot of trained gunman can barely hit a high speed moving target. A guy without training with a gun? Geez, the recoil would probably mess up his shot so much that they'd miss.

Yeah, I don't have much faith in other people's aim. I've never fired a real gun but I'm incredibly accurate with airsoft guns and a bow and arrow. Though I'm sure the recoil would mess me up a bunch. The biggest reason I wouldn't be scared of someone pointed a gun at my head is because I know once they pull the trigger it's over. There's no point in being afraid if you have the chance to control yourself and possibly gain control of the situtaion. Also, with death comes peace.

Oh, about a month ago, at this other school, this guy brings a gun to school to get even with this dude that pissed him off. So, he has a getaway car parked in the school, so when he walks in and when the bell rings to get ready for first period, he pulls the gun on the dude and shoots. What's sad is the guy missed even being right up to him. Then he ran like hell and jumped in the car.

You don't "see"? Then I suggest you open your eyes. Depending what you mean by violence which im assuming is school shootings as that is what this topic about. America is definetly at the top of the pile.

luckily for me, i live in australia and we dont really have school shootings here.

we had one really bad shooting in tasmania in the 90's though (not a school shooting) - it was called the Port Aurthur Massacre. about 35 people were killed.

after that, the gun laws in this country became more strict.

While I don't agree with how hard the enforcement was - it worked. While all other forms of crime went up a bit (ie: hold ups using knifes, etc). It would've been a lot worse if they were all running around with a damn gun.

Lot of criminals have been scared off when they were wielding a weapon, and then their potential victim pulls out their own for defence. Can't be a [kitty] and shoot someone with a screw driver if they whip out a cricket bat or something to hit back with now can you.

I just asked about it today, and I found out there are three gangs at the high school I used to go to. One is called "White Fear", I thought they were called "White Power" before. Then there is "Free Soldiers" and a group that associates themselves with the KKK. All three of the gangs are white supremacists :? . Stupid, since there are about three non-white kids at school. Stupid even if there were more.
