January 10, 200719 yr One small point. Name ANY other game ever you have played as much as Runescape.I forcast that 90% of you wont be able to name a game you have played for even half the time you've played Runescape. I played Deus Ex through the first time in 20 something hours then completed it twice more(i reckon i played the game for 40 hours total). It was a brilliant game i loved it but after a while it was boring. I have played Runescape about 10 times longer and im not bored (frustrated, angry, happy, tense but not bored). Now i'd guess a lvl 126 combat with say 1600 total would have played a lot longer than me (77 combat, 1030ish total) say another 2 times longer. thats about 800 hours or 33 days. That is why you are unhappy about content not being aimed at you. You've played the game so much that no updates can overtake your boredom of the game. Find a new game, take a break do something else. Halo 2 Madden NFL 200X Z0mg look im so kool even mods tok to me.
January 10, 200719 yr Very interesting. Their general concept should be to keep players, and the most of the characters quitting are mid-leveled players. High level players, unfortunately, are pretty much addicted new high level quest or not. Darn, let's go on strike, in wilderness so Jagex loses lots of customers. Just kidding, don't pk, it's mean! :-)

January 10, 200719 yr Every player is equal in value. We higher levels may not get as many updates because we're a dying breed (I speak of us pc-virgins so to speak, damn you pest control), and the mid-levels are becoming more prominent. Hence why we have: a)High level monsters b)Skill Capes c)More abilities (higher skill levels = more to do in RS) etc... So really, Jagex has kept us all pretty balanced. Except for that damned PC update. There's cake through here, apparently.
January 10, 200719 yr while, true they're workin on it Barb assault is geared to higher levels.. Care should certainly be taken before attempting to help the people of Sophanem... if you want to survive this high level combat quest. :-w Barb assault is geared towards people above the average rs player intelligence. But being a high combat onl helps you survive longer As for the quest we really aren't sure what "high level combat" is to JaGeX. As far as we know it could be for lvl 80s seeing as how mots quests are geared towards the lvl 60 range And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti.
January 10, 200719 yr I am sure Jagex Values all players but it is hard to give the higher levels updates because of all the lower levels. Look at the rants after a new quest with higher requirements then the average player has....

Except for that damned PC update. Your not a high lvl, and for the record: The high lvl monsters arnt a challenge to a high lvl, i can solo kq and kbd and chaos elem with ease, i can kill 5 moles per trip without trying. Skill capes have terrible stats, if i wanted to brag about any of my skills i could reffer to the high scores. And what new abilities? mining still finishes at 85(has since rsc) fletching still finishes at 85, fishing pretty much finishes at 76 unless you want to trawl, ect. There are no quests with high requirements (dont say me2, 56 agility isnt a high skill). Jagex adds skills like prayer that can half the effectiveness of a 99 combat skill with the click of a button, whats balanced about that?.
January 10, 200719 yr there are still plenty of higher level updates. Take skill capes and desert treasure for example. Especially the fight pits. What Jagex needs is a team based super monster, one that can't be soloed or duo'd like all the other monsters currently in runescape. A team of 5+ would still struggle to kill it even with time and planning and good weapons/armor. I think that would make everyone happy. :)

January 10, 200719 yr I don't know if I qualify as high or not. But I really feel that we need more updates centered towards the people who have been playing for a long time. Runescape never would have gotten as big as it is today if it wasnt for the long time subscribers. The last very good high level update I would say is Dagganoth Kings, when these were realeased people realised that there was a massive profit to be made. They also quickly realized that you need to be a higher combat (still only need 90 technically). The kings made many people group together to defeat them as a team, also made people stay members longer because the 126's had the huge advantage of 99 prayer (98 for some who cheaped out :P). Now the kings can be duoed (easily even at my combat) or solo maged. Right now as wakka said, we need another boss that cannot be so easily killed. If you took the principals from Barbarian Assault where team work is needed to complete the goal it would work much better. Make it a HAS TO HAVE FOUR PEOPLE or more monster where you will need to communicate with you team else you will either do no damage or just make it madder
January 10, 200719 yr yeah, that makes perfect sence, that is until you think. everyone says that high levels are neglected but look at all the stuff we have access to, sure every update isnt about us but those "low-level updates" helped every current "high-leveled char" get to his current level at some point. and personaly im glad not every update is geared towards my levels because then i wouldnt have time to increase those levels even further.

But the fact is that there is ENOUGH mid lvl content now, a new player could sign up and play for 3 years off the current mid lvl content, whilst the high lvls still have nothing.
January 11, 200719 yr But the fact is that there is ENOUGH mid lvl content now, a new player could sign up and play for 3 years off the current mid lvl content, whilst the high lvls still have nothing. You beat me to it. When Jagex said HIGH level combat quest, I was very pleased. (Even though i'm not that high). But the quest was easy. A level 80 could do it. *Sigh* lol. Currently: Quit Ages Ago
January 11, 200719 yr One level 3 is the treated the same as One level 126. A player is a player. (Members are favored though. But because they pay monthly, of course. :P ) And you have some sort of proof that the f2p income is not significant? Add income from free to play is a significant part of Jagex income. Check out the Runescape Investor blog
January 11, 200719 yr a lvl 40 member for 3 months possibly and a lvl 126 member for 1-2 years so a 126 should be more respected by jagex for all the cash they paid anyway. -.- 1593th to 99 Farming - July 08.
January 11, 200719 yr To be perfectly frank: We're worth $5/mo to Jagex no matter what our level is. And since the bulk of Jagex's clientelle is mid-lower levels, that's what most of their updates are aimed at :( And that's why we have a high combat quest now, with totally no other requirment. There are loads of people with only "good" combat stats. (PC :x ) When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+
January 11, 200719 yr I personaly disagree, whilst in the simplest of ways, me being a member of the game is worth ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã3.20 a month to jagex ($5 for you americans) now I feel as a high level, and many othere high levels, we add to the game. Whilst we are only directly responsable for $5, indirectly we are probaly worth alot more, this is though our knowledge of the game, the general maturity, and some other small features. If you look at if from a different angle, if you where to open a bank account, that gave you a debit and credit card, the bank will give you a lower intrest on the investment as your money is not secure, and may disapear at any time. In this situation a Low level "newb" is a bank account with a credit card. however High levels, are like a longterm investment account, our money is locked in there for several years, and is unlikely to be removed. Banks offer longterm investment accounts a HIGH intrest rate, as their money is classed as secure.

OFF TOPIC: Why did you steal Muggiwhplr's signature? 99 Crafting Blog
January 11, 200719 yr I dont know who Muggiwhplr is if that answers the question? Its only a temp one untill I make a better one anyway :). As for your point, I feel that not alot of high levels do quit actually, we tend to be addicted, and stuck in the habbit. Its hard to stop playing. But when a high level does quit, it tends to be more highprofile.

But when a high level does quit, it tends to be more highprofile. i agree with you there, although im not considered that high a lvl, but once i achieve my tank targets and become somwhat of a high lvl i still wouldnt quit aftere iv done all i can. as you say it is rather addicting jagex do value each player (and lvl) exactly the same as anyother lvl, members may get more benifits as they pay to play, but in all aspects i think each and everyone of us are valued exactly the same A servant to your dreams, this blood will spill
January 12, 200719 yr We're worth $5/month to them, it is upto us how much time and effort we put into our account, just because we play more dosent mean we should be more privelaged..thats biased, right? De_Pk - Level 117 - Banned September 30th '06.
