1. There are a few mods that take the population of a server. It's kinda rough though, so don't take it as the exact number.

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/census.ph ... rtypeid=-1

2. If you've got less then 2 hours to play at a time, it's better to play when you got rested xp up. You basically get 200% for killing monsters, not quests though.

3. Depending on how long you play, it'll take a while. Longer if it's your first character you're levelling.

4. Comes out Jan 16th. You don't have to bother with it at all unless you have a level 60 character because all of the content is for 60-70 levelling. I suppose you could get it to play as draenei or blood elf.

1. They just hit 8 million worldwide. There are probaly 3000-5000 on at any given time in each server I'd say.

2. Food and drink, use them.

3. I've been playing for a little over a month and I'm level 48. However my shaman was probaly made half way in, so I've only been playing my shaman for probaly 3 1/2 weeks now. He has 10 hours play time on him but probaly half of that is Battlegrounds / AFK / looking at the auction house.

4. Jan 16th :).

1. Varies from server to server, and side to side. The difference in alliance and horde characters can be quite noticeable.

2. Depends on what you're doing. Yes, you could just log on and run a few battlegrounds til you log off and get bored. Or cash in a few quests. But "effective playing" pretty much requires you to sit down and multi-task a bunch of quests while you leveling, and when you feel like doing the end-game, that's going to take even larger chunks of time.

3. I think it took me 18 days of /played on my first character, and 12 on my second. There's some obvious gawking time in there, and the second one would probably have been a lot faster if it hadn't been made on the alliance side (first one was horde).

4. Next week.

3. I think it took me 18 days of /played on my first character

Heh, exactly the same here.

It is possible to play for less than a couple of hours at a time, but it is geared towards doing more. Endgame PvE is totally aimed at spending 3+ hours working with several other players - and that's why I quit.

fractalsignature2lq4.jpg

1. Most people are level 60 and spend alot of time in the big city, Ironforge/Orgrimmar, so go there to see more people, you wont find many in the low level areas. There's a reason it's called Lagforge...

2. Hmm, well, tbh, I don't get much from sitting less than 2 hrs, if I do want to game seriously I need to sit at the very least 2 hours to do a bunch of quests at one time, you could spend less time just gathering quests though, but that's just plain dull, better to game for longer each time and do a little of both.

3. 17 days on first, second lvl 55 and 7 days played.

4. 16th in Sweden, the events around it have started just recently.

korla3eaqd3.jpg

Jeez, how do you guys level so fast  ? I've been playing like 2 weeks and have 2 level 20-22 characters, and I play 3+ hours a day.

phx.jpg

Gamertag: King Arizona

18 days /played time is 18 days on the game. That is 432 hours spent playing.

fractalsignature2lq4.jpg

Ooooh, didn't catch that bit. Then maybe you guys arent freaks afterall.

phx.jpg

Gamertag: King Arizona

1. All the people are hiding in Ironforge/Orgrimmar. Or they are raiding.

2. You could, but you lose out on 80% of the game.

3. 5 days played time to get to 60 if you know what you are doing.

4. Jan 16.

3. 5 days played time to get to 60 if you know what you are doing.

Of course he isn't going to know what he's doing, so that's a misleading answer. No new player is going to be able to get to 60 that fast.

i believe alot of people misinterpreted my question. at most i can play 1 hr a day. weekends 2 hrs. i found it very hard to get anywhere without sitting down for 8 hours at a time. is there any way to be efficient, and not miss anything, without playing 3+ hrs a day?

thank you all for your answers.

happiehour.jpeg

Hmz... Liberal use of http://www.thottbot.com perhaps? Usually I only use it whenever I get sick and tired of particular quest or I have no clue where to go, but you could read up on various quests you want to do well in advance so that when you do have time to play, there's less mucking about, more getting exp.

Otherwise it's just a matter of using the double-experience to it's limit, and making sure you always end a session inside an inn.

You can't pay via paypal yet, but Blizzard says they're working on it.

Some tips for easier playing

1. Use http://www.thottbot.com for quest help. Very nice

2. Use http://www.allakhazam.com for quest help/pricing on stuff you sell/buy

3. Make sure WoW plays windowed full screen, allows for much easier alt+tabbing to the internet, and still plays full screen.

4. Get some UI upgrades like Atlas, Atlasloot/lootlink, maybe titabar/fubar and later CT-mod for loads of valuable little addons

5.Play a DPS class like mage, rogue or hunter. Mages can make their own water+food and teleport to the big cities which I found very comfortable (my 60 is a mage). DPS means Damage per second,, i.e. a class that kills its enemies quickly, htereby finishing quests and killing mobs faster, generating quicker XP. A bad choice here would be the paladin or priest, they have DPS alternatives, but they don't come close to mage/rogue/hunter DPS.

6. Also, I find it slightly easier to be alliance since more people tend to play alliance, meaning that you'll be having an easier time finding groups (not really interesting until lvl 40 or so, but still, more people to play with as oppsed to more people to play against if you are horde)

hmm, that's all for now, if are wondering more, and don't find any answers from the knowledeable people checking this thread you can send me a pm, I like to help people get addicted to WoW. Myself I'm quitting next friday when uni starts, but good luck to you hehe ;)

korla3eaqd3.jpg

Be warned though about alliance. More people play on it so there are more people to group with but you also should be warned that your que times to ge t into a battlegrounds will be quite long. My horde character takes 1 minute to get into a battleground and my old alliance toon takes 15+ minutes...

Plus horde owns alliance.

In reguards to a class to play I would choose what you enjoy the most. Generaly you want a class that doesn't have a lot of downtime / kills fast. Why I love my shaman for PvE, I can go on and on with very little downtime... the only downtime I have is me casting a 3 second heal every few fights.

Oh, and pet classes have it the easiest in PvE IMO, aka the warlock and hunter. I'd be weary of playing one of those though because they are both way overdue for a nerf.

A healthy mix of grinding and quests depending on your class.

true, but you also have to take in consideration the amount of downtime compared to the time it takes to kill an enemy. and a mage aoe grinding in pure +dam/sta gear for example beats a shaman all things considered when it comes to speed of leveling. but shaman are a nice jack of all trades class ofc. and may be easier for a new player to play due to heals, I don't know, I never did much healing, only have a lvl 35 priest.

Yea, they have the easiest, but from what I've heard warlocks are very safe to play, but immensely boring due to their slow killing. They just dot-fear-dot-dot-fear-shadowbolt-shadowbolt-fear-shadowbolt-shadowbolt repeat last 3 until done. And they're slooooow. Hunters seemto be the kings atm, especially in BG pvp with silencing shot making them impossible for casters and combat traps, their normal wing clip and disorienting shot just normally good against everyone ;)

sorry if I was very negative to what you said Nad, didn't mean to ;) hope you can take it

1. How many people play approx. i was on silvermoon (very high pop.) and i rarely saw anyone.

It depends on where you are. Some zones have less people in them than others.

2. is there a way to play without sitting down for 2hrs + at a time?

Sure, as long as you don't plan on doing any instances or raids.

3. How long does 60 take?

Took me about 3 months when I played.

4. when is burning crusade coming out? or did it already?

In a couple days I think.

Actualy warlocks are incredibly fast killers, right next to rogues and hunters in PvE. I have a 27 warlock and on average a fight will take me about 12 seconds from start to finish to do. The bigest thing with locks is that they are incredbily good on saving mana, get a good wand and you can replace your shadow bolt hits with dots.

Hunters are EZMODE no matter what the case, I have a 29 one lol.

You haven't seen my shaman DPS then, hehe. I can usualy take down most targets my level (grinding wise) in about 17 seconds I'd wager. Generaly get around 100-150dps on same levelish mobs. Once I get more +hit gear It'll rock.

That being said though my shaman is decked out in full blues lol. I wouldn't recomend shaman for a first class though as they can be really boring at times.

all true Smile unfortunately

Yeah I laugh at all the alliance waiting in huge ques just to get beaten by us (save for AV :().

It is nice being able to get in 3 or 4 AB rounds in an hour if I'm lucky though. :D

Of course one of the only classes I haven't taken up very high at all is mage (along with never playing a druid, lol). My highest mage was a lvl 14 in horrible gear. However I may spec elemental on my shaman when I hit 60... A mage in mail and a shield. 8-)

sorry if I was very negative to what you said Nad, didn't mean to Wink hope you can take it

Nah, its fun actualy getting a conversation out of this lol.

I don't know what burning crusade is or do I know anything about WoW burning crusade is coming on my birthday
