deuteronomy_af
Well, does anybody have any tips on how to get to 85 without losing a little bit, or no money? I currently have the materials to get to 55. I realize that this is quite a big goal, but am willing to do it. So please, tell me your tips. "Dr. Lutzka, Dr. Lutzka, He's a fake!" Foooman
Cannonballs or Iron Knives
TeeBeaun
buy iron ore and rings of forging, or make them, and then make iron knives, they are the only items you can sell for more than the iron ore is worth. If you sell them to break even with your supplies you will sell them a lot quicker.
Ethiery
Cannon balls, just be patient, buy your bars 550-600 each, selling cannon balls 180-200 each. A man who doesn't read, is no smarter than a man who can't read.
sheepdean
do family crest quest, get goldsmithing gauntlets, do between a rock quest, use the gold mine with over 140 rocks, bank, mine, bank, mine, rinse, repeat, smelt all gold once you are done Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. deuteronomy_af
The website says it's 25.6 exp for a Cannonball. You get 4 C-Balls for each Bar, so is it 102.4 exp a bar? Or 25.6? "Dr. Lutzka, Dr. Lutzka, He's a fake!"
Japlin Chev
I'd say buy coal and iron, make steel bars, then make cannonballs, it may take a while but will get you to 60 quite fast. Chevroi - Formerly Japlin69My Old Blog
Goobore
Well, does anybody have any tips on how to get to 85 without losing a little bit, or no money? Money is always in a tradeoff with speed. You have to decide how fast you want to do this. Then you can decide on how much time to spend mining, smelting, smithing, and hi-alching or selling. For example: Slow but makes lots of money -- mine ore, smelt, sell steel bars. or Slow but makes lots of money -- mine ore, smelt, make and sell cannonballs or Medium speed but makes lots of money -- mine ore, smelt, smith steel plate, hi-alch. or Faster but makes a little money -- buy ore, smelt ores, sell steel bars or canonballs or Faster but costs money -- buy steel bars, smith plate, hi-alch So, you can: -- mine or buy the ore -- smelt the bars or buy the bars -- sell bars or smith them into plate or balls It all depends on how money you want to earn or spend and how fast you want to earn smithing exp. I currently have the materials to get to 55. I realize that this is quite a big goal, but am willing to do it. Getting to 85 smithing is like getting level 55 smithing more than 19 times. So please, tell me your tips. You can also do the quest for the members goldsmithing gauntlets and then smelt gold to earn exp. Finally, getting hi level smithing is not as good as it once was. Rune armor is now the 3rd best in the game. Many members spend their time trying to get Dragon and/or Barows gear. Free players need rune but there is plenty available. You can buy your way to 99 for about 21 million gp. Hope this helps
Captainkidd
I wouldn't do steel bars, you can only get 7 steel bars per load, I did that once for exp it tock me all day to smith 1k steel bars #-o I will never do that again. I would do what sheepdean said, well kinda do family crest quest, get goldsmithing gauntlets, do between a rock quest, use the gold mine with over 140 rocks, bank, mine, bank, mine, rinse, repeat, smelt all gold once you are done do family crest quest, get goldsmithing gauntlets yea get these, just buy like 1k gold ore and go to the port where you do the ecto stuff and the banks right next to the smelt and make 1k gold bars and trade for ores until 85. sorry if this comes out like crap, I can't see my kittens on my desk....ugh. Mayjest
I wouldn't do steel bars, you can only get 7 steel bars per load, I did that once for exp it tock me all day to smith 1k steel bars #-o I will never do that again. I'm just wondering if you're inventory's been reduced or something, coz I can get 9 per load quite easily. With the furnace in Phasmytarius or however it's spelt, it doesn't take long at all. I personally go for the exceptionally slow way - mine it, smelt it, smith it, alch it. Sure, it takes ages, but I find that finally getting my goal after having put all that effort in to be more 'worth it' than buying a level. Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores: Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! mrsir17
The website says it's 25.6 exp for a Cannonball. You get 4 C-Balls for each Bar, so is it 102.4 exp a bar? Or 25.6? I'm pretty sure you get the same amount of xp no matter what kind of armour you make out of a bar. for instance, making a pl8body would get you 5x more xp than a dagger, but would also take up 5x more bars. goal:1000 total f2p lvls. Elessar3019
You could try buying gold ores from power miners (if indeed anyone powermines gold) and then smelt and sell for the same amount of money. perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is anotherAMEN! PhelimReagh
I'm doing it by smelting iron bars and cannonballs, and smithing the smelted iron into knives or arrowheads.
