WHAT?! ?! PEOPLE STILL DO DISSECTIONS WHILE THE ANIMAL'S ALIVE?!?!

I believe so. It is called vivisection. In ancient Greece, they did that with convicted criminals :uhh:

That's disgusting! The poor animals!!! Seriously, that's not even funny!! That's just barbaric.

They scramble the brains so the animal doesn't feel it, but I still find it wrong.

My personal favorite was the shark we dissected. That was really cool, especially telling it that the operation wasn't covered by its HMO

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

AMEN!

Let's see... I've dissected a worm, frog, squid, squirrel, deer.

My girlfriend who was in biomedical science and is in optometry school now dissected a live rabbit (they give it anesthesia and then put it to sleep when the lab is finished) and now she is dissecting a cadaver for her anatomy lab. Her professor has been in the lab too long because they all talk about how if he comes to the table he'll start digging around in the cadaver and start sloshing dead person juice everywhere. He splashes people with it he gets so into things. My gf got hit in the face with dead person juice... ewwwww....

She said all the cadavers are really fat people and they have to take all the fat out to get to what they need to see. Bleck...

Throughout my schooling we dissected worms, clams, frogs, and fetal pigs.

Wow, no where near as bad as I would've thought. I guess it's the blood that makes me sick, that's the disgusting part. Blood...

Blood...
=P~

Anyway, I'm starting a university science course this year, so hopefully I will be able to do some dissections. I find the inner workings of animals interesting.

In Highschool I've dissected a Fish, Pig and Sheep Intestines and Heart (pretty much all the stuff which keeps them alive). They were pretty cool to do.

I've never disected a whole animal, but i've cut open cow's hearts and livers and lungs in biology. Everyone else was wearing gloves but I didn't need them, stuff like that doesn't bother me too much. But when people started throwing around the liver I protested :P

I made her tell me exactly where it hit and made sure not to kiss that cheek for a few days. I couldn't get the mental picture of dead person juice on that cheek out of my mind.

I wouldn't be able to do it. I'd fall to the floor and faint from queasiness first.

Better not take biology dude. Anyway we've had to dissect starfish, squid, earthworm, cat, chicken, deer, fish(not school but gutting a fish I caught) and oyster.
