Azurechaos
Nope. Here's the reward from a clue I got from steel dragons earlier today: I'd say if this were true, a clue from a steel would be something very good nearly every time... Maybe it's just my luck. Gugge
I do a lot of clues. I never noticed any difference in reward related to monsters. I also never noticed any difference in reward depending of clue lenght and difficulty. A long hard treasure trail, with several stops in deep wildy, sara wizards, travelling all over the world is as likely to give junk as a short and easy one - but *when* you get something good after a long hard trail, it definitly feels like you worked for it and deserved it. Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

Exactly my thoughts... Somehow disappointing to receive after a long trail ( i've had them up to 4 emotes and 5 wildystops...) a black d hide body, rune dagger and 20 nats... I never noticed any difference in reward related to monsters either. However, when I started doing Treasure Trails (approx 1,5 years ago), I was given the impression it did matter, because I read this in some guide.. n64jive
This is how i beleive... They throw 100 sided dice(a programm does)...each dice has a number on it, which is weighted... Whatever number comes up, it's generated into the clue reward. This is done at the exact moment of opening the clue

masterdez
The reward is randomly generated when you finish the clue, just like when you kill a monster. A friend completed a clue once and got the reward, a sara plate. Something happened and the server had to roll back, so he finished the clue again and got a different reward. Each clue reward will be totally independant of each other, and the monster it was dropped from. Founder of Fast Free Double Natures Click here to see my Goals and Achievements! WHy would they choose a different mechanism? By re-using it, they avoid unnecessary developments. Kaioke
Since this is a Java based game, rand var's are pretty complex, however I'm sure Runescape programmer's have gotten better at them over time, and a wheel is spun. The first wheel is probably how many items, ranging from two to six or something - I believe. Then a wheel is spun for the first item, second item, etc. On the item wheel, there are special spots which give higher up items; ranging set vs. rune armour, 3rd Age Armour vrs. A guthix page. Toxic388
Let's see... Abyssal demon - (rough estimate) ALWAYS basic rune armor, trimmed skirt once. Iron Dragons - ALWAYS basic rune. Gargoyles - These are good for clues. I got robin and a bunch of other "god" rune stuff. ~Retired 10/17/07~"One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures." - George W. masterdez
Ive said it before and ill say it again, the clue is randomly generated on completion, it doesnt depend on the monster at all. And congrats on the 3rd age plate, ive got a 3rd age ammy in the first week :) Founder of Fast Free Double Natures Click here to see my Goals and Achievements!
