- A landing ground for commercial airplanes

There are helicopter, tanks, jeeps, and loads of other things surrounding and in Area 51 guarding the place. Whats funny is Fort Knox is more heavily guarded and that is only gold.

In my opinion this is all about the cold war. The cold war really kicked this thing off. Are enemy technology wise are the Russians. We want to gain the Russian's technology and hide ours from them. That is what is all about.

I want say yay, or nay on this subject. I will provide a argument for boths sides though. The argument against was pretty much talked about above, so no need to restate. I will however give a argument for aliens.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There could be aliens there, the hangers could house UFOs. There have been enough stories for a person to say there are aliens out there.

 

 

 

Plenty of people have claimed to have formerley worked at Area 51 and say there is reverse engineering going on there. Specifically the Roswell Crash incident has been cited many times. Now I do believe that there are secret planes being developed there. All the stuff we know for sure could be above ground. What others are specualtion, aliens and such could all be below. In a underground base. And as somone else said, those mines could also be underground bases.

im going to go out on a limb here and say that 90% of "UFO" sightings are simply test aircraft that got a bit too far out of the testing range, or someone happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. you would honestly be surprised at the technology available to humans.

"shapes that humans can't make?" that's pretty much limited to spherical cubes. with CNC and Rapid Prototyping machines, we can make damn near any shape you can think up. there are several rapid prototype technologies that are even certified for flight. i'm on the formula sae team at my school, and one of our alumni works at Boeing on the "phantom works" project, making one-off parts for Boeing aircraft, and the Renault F-1 team.

I remember he mentioned it to me once, he is a flight mechanic and was looking at all the different bases you can be stationed at, he was in his chief's office and he flipping through a base register table, something like 800 operational air force bases each with their name and then a sentance about it (location, operation type, division, etc) It was alphabetical and out of curiosity he asked about area 51. His chief lauphed and flipped to the page with the listing and then handed it over to him. It said something like "flight testing and heavy trails of developmental weapons" It went on to give some codes that said you need so and so many years of experience in your field, and you have to have been in the armed forces for more then 15 years due to the classified nature of the projects.

Therefore, whenever somebody sees a futuristic looking aircraft-prototype flying around somebody shouts "UFO!" and suddenly any possible military type speculation subsides and everyone talks about UFO's.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's so top secret because again, the technologies they test there are advanced, they wouldn't want their secret getting out. I also doubt that they shoot random "drunks" who accidentaly stray into the territory without some kind of reason. The simple fact is there are hundreds of theoretical physicists and experimental physicists (not employed by the government) all over the world working on physics. They have formulated so many laws and rules that have stood up to every test thrown at them. Even I can see the proof for them. It's not like there's a branch of government scientists keeping all these amazing physics secrets to themselves which nobody else has been able to think of. Sheesh.
