dkjestrup
me and my friends do a lot of barrows (I have 40 prayer so i cannon) and we all get tons of r00ns. My friend does slayer dart so all the chaos runes gained are profit. He gave around 750 too me and i had around 1300 already so i decided to use ur guide. I maged with fire bolt using bolt guants (spell?) and looted 2 r00n kites and 1 g shield which with my merchanting skills i sold for 250k (130k for g shield and 60k per rune kite) so i made around 50k. Not half bad considering mage exp. Thanks Terly for the best Avatar in TipIt -winks-

marnuke
I was also disapointed with the no exp thingy, but:   The ice trolls outside the caves give experience. Question - do they have the same great drops? Someone found a safe way to slay them (outside the caves)?   anyone now?.... Barrows drops: ahrims staff (2), karils coif, karils xbow, torags plate body, veracs helm.

Norton3000
You should also tell about the spot where the honor guards are. Very good guide anyway. :   You can btw get exp from those trolls in the caves.   Edit: I made two trips (about 3 hours) and got 5 rune kites, rune warhammer, granite shield and a lot of alching junk. \ Retired from RuneScape for as long as possible. Norton3000
are g sheilds/rune sheilds common? Rune kites are very common. I've got only one granite shield this far so I would say its "rare" drop. Mightybigboo31
I found that when killing the ones away from the mines but near the soliders that it is very effective to use a Dwarf Cannon since it is multi-combat. However since it is range pray and sharks are a must all the time. Btw yes they can be used as a slayer task i have 13 to go.
sirgudi
i use the lazy way...troll runts just north of neitiznot.   u hit a 1 with rune cbow and let the guards do the rest hehe.   no food or tele needed =]

ikraz66
Yeah, this is probably a good way to go if you're ranging the trolls, but I prefer meleeing them. You left out a few major details.   First of all, make sure you say how dangerous the trolls are. Even though they are relatively low levels, they hit HIGH and OFTEN. I think the trolls are really level 120s in disguise =P~    The yak hide armor from the quest makes the male trolls hit less often, but still pretty often at my defense level. but I prefer to use proselyte armor instead for its prayer bonus. I also wear the fremmenik shield because it lowers the females max range hit to 2!!!   I also wear a black mask since i mostly kill these trolls on slayer tasks. I kill the trolls just north of jatizo since there are lots of them very close together and there are honor guards that help you kill them. I use melee protect the whole time, with a few monkfish to heal from the constant 2's that the females hit. Generally you need 4 monks and 4 pray pots for a full inventory of good drops. Good defense isn't important if you can wear proselyte armor. 43+ prayer is required, but the higher it is the better. Also, 60+ attack and str is a good idea, but 70+ is a better idea since you can use a whip.   a 120 troll slayer assignment took me a little less than an hour, and I made about 300k in drops after taking off the cost of food and pray pots/ super sets.  Proud owner of a Quest cape! sevenphotos
Some additional information that I found while following this guide.    1) You do not need to finish the Fremminick Isles quest to start killing Ice Trolls. You merely need to start the quest to get transport to the island. Actually, I did not check, but you may even be able to skip starting the quest.    2) Once you are there, there *is* a range safespot outside the caves. Head north over the bridge, keep going straight north and then to the east a little bit, to the end of the peninsula there. It is the one east of the mining spot. There are two rocks there, and a single adult Ice Troll (lvl 82) spawn that is not aggressive, or become non-aggressive very quickly. You can safespot behind those rocks.    This area is just out of the range of the rock throwing females - if one does follow you there, if you go to the absolute end of the peninsula, they will quit attacking and hopefully wander away. If it doesn't wander away, shoot it once and it will retreat.    There is one more adult ice troll that can and will wander over from the mining rocks. Be careful to not get trapped on one side of the rocks with it. Of course, with timing you can use it to increase the speed of killing.    I killed 130 ice trolls with this method, and got 3 rune kite shields, about 20 addy full helms, several types of hammer (but not rune), and one granite shield. Plus the raw shark and balls of wool.    It may be just me, but the runts drop the rune kiteshield the most often. Maybe the granite shield as well. It is hard to get a runt over to the safe area, though. What I did try and do was wait near the edge of the big battle area until they were occupied with the guards, and sniped them for a hit or two to get the drop. I got a rune kite and the granite shield drop this way. But be very careful of the females!   Melee is possible at several locations, but they can gang up on you, and they hit *very* hard and very often. It's a good way to use up your excess food supplies if you are not going to pray.    However, melee may become possible when you stay in the middle fight area long enough for them to stop being aggressive, and then use the guards to absorb the majority of the hits. doom_leader1
Not sure if someone already posted this (No time to look through all responses) but a Fire cape is better than an achievement cape. 11 to defenses, 1 to attack bonuses, 4 to strength bonus, 3 to prayer.     All in all nice guide  Feel free to message me on Aim or Msn, or add me ingame. Thanks for the signature Mathias
