funny_fell0w
lol all the f2p's are saying its a rubbish idea. Tbh anyone who cant pay cos their parents wont let them is absolutely pathetic..im sorry but ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã3.29 a month LOL There are plenty of ways to pay, without ur parents even having to agree ....... and what do you supose would happen if the parent *DID* find out? they would be kicked off runescape probly is great, i am a member but i got plenty of friend that cant find a way to paytrue. i will die if my parents find out. so i rather not risk it. At one point I did try chucking the credit card out of my moms purse.... My parents are too strict on me playing games.. i think I'll wait till my sis turns 18, then she'll have a credit card, and she can pay for me, and I'll give her 5$/month.my sis is on my mom's side so if i ask her to secretly pay for me, i will die a worse death  Forever F2P skill total: 1053 My Stats + Bank <!-- m -->http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=516379<!-- m -->
Ambit
As someone who was a member and is now back to f2p, I find f2p is way funner to me since it's just fun to play with a lot of people rather than just no one really. I just didnt find it really worth the effort to lick a envelope for 1 month of runescape+ I like all the people and some of those members skills like agility and heblore are just way to friggin annoyin level

Shiva
Word your looking for is superior not inferious :P I stubbornly notice your spelling of the word "inferior." But, yeah, I guess "superior" would be the word I should have used. But the aforementioned works fine if I replace "than" with "to." "who cares..." Wozza cares, for you see... xpure_strx
I'm sure if u could pay the 5$ to the neareast shop 99% of the f2pers would have members.
zhinz1
Apparently a lot of people here don't understand exchange rates. The 3 pound price he mentioned is the same as the $5 American. I don't know about whoever said it was $12 Canadian. That doesn't make any sense. Why would Jagex want to charge Canadians more? The point is that if you're older than like 12, it shouldn't be that hard to odd jobs that would result in you getting $5 a month. $5 a month! You can't go to a movie once for that price! If you can't afford that, you must not do anything (go to movies, go shopping, rent video games, etc) Now the level cap, yeah it's dumb. But if you're F2P, you shouldn't expect any updates in turn. Because the cost of the ads that they have probably barely covers the cost of all of the free servers. So if you're not providing any money to Jagex, don't expect them to make updates for you. monkeybud1
Stupid Idea, without f2p there would be no RS period. Im not saying F2p should get updates all the time (maybe twice a year). And for most F2pers money is not the issue. Its either parents dont want them to pay, or they dont really want to pay if they can play for free (both those apply for me). cya_tremend
I feel that putting a level capp on F2P is nonsence... I'm a member and have been for a while now (1999) and I have seen a lot of updates on F2P but when I became a member the updates stopped and Jagex started working on members. That is a bit unfair to all the F2Pers out there but the times went on. A lot of updates on the P2P side, but none on the F2P side.... I say that Jagex should put in like a new quest every 4 months to F2P to make the experience for the players who cant pay to have more fun with the game. Guest Al_Kharid_Dueler
Sad to say, but I agree.. Like most games, I think rs f2p should be some sort of a "demo"
123kreisman
I cant understand why so many people play F2p. Its only about 3 pounds for a months worth of membership. imo i think they should put a level cap on lvl 40 for all skills. This way, the freebies will have to pay, and more servers could be changed from F2p to P2p, which is needed. which is needed???why??? if like 200 ppl on a server (when i play) is nice.if like more than half non-members gets members then yes it is needed.but do u want like 20000+ lvl 40s to run around the place and like 1k+ peeps on a server??? :? wormy
ok... the lvl 40 cap is a silly idea, a cap of around 70 would make a lot more since, lvl 70 in all combat and reasonable other things would prolly take no more than 6 months, thus making f2p "realy" a trial version. i dont think anyone here espceialy the people aruging for this idea want to get rid of f2p they realize no f2p=no p2p. the f2p peeps wernt posting the middle step, with a cap of 40, not too many people would continute to play, less people =less of everything. now the full server idea, this would cause people to quit because full servers are oftain laggy at leasat for me, plus it is a pain to train with them full. which means people will not be having much fun which means a few more people would quit, so jag might cut another server more quit, blah blah. blastermaster
ok... the lvl 40 cap is a silly idea, a cap of around 70 would make a lot more so jagex should just cut off my 86 str 81 atk 83 hp and 80 def... sure perhaps u guyz would understand if u would be f2p and have stats over 80 but nooo, u are either member or n00bs
wormy
jag can do whatever they want to do. sure it would piss a lot of people off, but how many times did they do that by now. boo hoo they going to cut stats reminds me of a rollback a little while ago. I am still in favor of a lvl cap. I might be a noob this is quite true, i am no member however.
barfbag
Oh please! I personaly am not allowed to get members until school's out.. so it wouldent be fair to us hard working citizens of runescape that still play f2p. Plus, what id a member with 99 in a skill quit members? To stand in the valley of death is one thing, to not have been able to stop the chaos is another. Marduk_God
Have you ever cared to take into consideration that there might be other things that prevent people from becoming p2p besides the sheer unwillingness to pay for a cartoon game? For instance: Some parent are rather... conservative, and don't trust the internet. Thus, their offspring are forbidden to pay to play. If by one of your previous posts you insinuated that those unfortunate souls should try to get it behind their parents' backs, your wrong. I, for one, will never lie and deceit to be able to play a cartoon game to the fullest. However, you are right that there is ample opportunity to do so. Some people are willing to pay by creditcard only. For those people, the sheer unavailability of many creditcards is very frustrating, and it prevents them from becoming p2p. Again, this in itself is not a reason not to become p2p, since there are plenty of alternatives. You joke about it, but there still are people to whom 5 bucks a month is an investment they cannot afford. I am thinking of certain students, who have to turn every penny in order to make a living. There are also many ppl who simply cannot afford to spend hours behing a screen playing an online game. Most ppl tend to have jobs and extracurricular activities, and when they do have some time to themselves, they must spend it on doing some "basic stuff', like cleaning the house, cooking, ... There isn't all that much time left to play once you're finally done. There is also a certain number of players, like me, that has decided to never take up membership. This, not because of some technical problem, but from principles. I have pretty decent stats as a f2p, although I'm certainly nothing to brag about, but i have decided to remain f2p for as long as possible. I will never say never, but the chance that I will become member in the future is slim. As some ppl have mentioned before, here you're someone if you have decent stats/skills. When you're member, being someone is/can be a lot harder. Not to mention any of the thousands of remaining problems... I'm sorry if my opinion is taken offensive by some ppl, this is just how I see it, and I believe, with me, many others. The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is for Good Men to do Nothing. I hope your kidden, So what because you have access to a credit card and pay everyone else that doesnt should be disadvantaged? Truth is F2P usually dont play runescape as much as paid to play and there in no point in paying if you only go on, on the weekends and i know pleanty of F2P's that are in the high 90's for skills and they only play when they have spare time. To cap the skills wouldnt throw people into membership if would throw people away from the game. If there not going to ever pay and theres a cap to lvl 40 whats the point in playing? Roxanne
erm. to be honest i been members for 3 month and was bored. i prefer f2p. why? because i dont like the new skills, i find many people greedy (no offence). If i would like, i could be able to pay for 5 members account a month easy. Why i dont? cuz i dont need members, many people arent p2p for the simple reason, they see no interest. pkusax
this is one of the most dumbest idea i have ever seen. you think that just because you are able to pay for members and its cheap, every other single player that is playing the game should be able to pay for the game? if thats the case then you are thinking wrong. i was a member for 5 months using my parents credit card with their permission but they asked me to stop playing since i played too much. i would certainly wanna have a job but right now i am not ready for a job yet since i just turned 15. i have never complained about f2p not getting updates because i cant expect much from something that is not paid for. there is already too much to do in f2p that keeps me playing for about 3 - 4 hours everyday. in other words, this idea would mean the end of runescape. DarK
It's not the cost that stops people from trying to become a member, there has been a poll in the past on the runescape site and it showed that most people just didn't have the access to someway of paying. So don't think that f2p players are cheap, they just can't find a way to pay. yeah this guy is right... when members came out i didn't have a credit card and my mom wouldn't buy it for me... that and she doesn't trust the internet... But some where in asia it might be what a man get paid in a job of week. For exemple the price of membership is for me around (in stuff with is easy valued all over world) 1 Coca coal 1,5 liter half pack and a 250g bar of chocolate, or a bit under one normal size big mac meal... While its is my neighberhood country you can get with this ammount of cash 2 big mac meals and some chocolate or i quess maybe like 5-6 liters coke and a few chocolate bars... I quess you all got my point. And yes also the hardness of paying p2p. jfp221
I only do f2p because I don't spend enough time playing this game. Paying the 5 dollars a month wouldn't be worth it for me because of how little I lvl in the game.
Guest IStakeHats
To everyone that can't get members cause of no credit card, just send money by mail. I suggest not sending real money but it works. Ask your parents for a check for a school project then fill it out and send it in. Another possible way is to pay someone in rs gp for a pay by phone members code. I have done this many times before. I will not be giving away any more information on this subject. To mods=Just explaining a possiblity. I do not recommend doing this unless the person is trusted you will most likely get scammed. On topic= Level cap is a stupid idea. Most people have to play for a while to find out that members is worth it.
