June 15, 200719 yr *Brag brag brag* I dinged level 40 and got my mount today. :D I'm pretty happy about it, though I've stayed up pretty late tonight and I have to wake up early tomorrow. :P I also got Burning Crusade like three days ago and started a Blood Elf priest on Suramar. I'll start a Blood Elf on Burning Blade too. :D I'm not sure what I want to be on Burning Blade classwise though. :P And I'm not sure what I want to spec in with my new Priest. Can anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of Shadow and Holy Priests?

Can anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of Shadow and Holy Priests? shadow = great dps, great solo levelling, great PvP holy = the best healing in the game (arguably), fantastic survivability, the best running away skills in the game. im a 64 holy priest and i have to say its fantastic. I love playing a healing class and i can outheal most paladins at my level. I respecced shadow once.. but i didnt notice THAT much of a difference in my ability to kill things. Also, be sure to take a few points in discipline as well as whatever tree you choose to spec in. The improvements that disc give are really really useful.
June 15, 200719 yr I'd say, to begin with, you should spec shadow. Up until around 30, perhaps, and then respec to holy. From there, you can try out which style of play you prefer, then stick with it. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
June 15, 200719 yr Author /yawn people in this game are cute. I try and bring up a point in this thread on the WoW forums how a large, large portion of this game is based off of gear. It doesn't take amazing skill to do well in PvE or PvP but simply to know your class and have good gear. Of course everyone points out how bad my gear is how I can't talk, ect. Cheers to them for backing up my point completely! http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... 1&pageNo=1 The thread in question if anyone is curious.
June 15, 200719 yr Best thing to do? Go raid, get freakin' awesome gear, and then re-post the thread. Not only will you prove them wrong, your post will be more poignant, even to them. (Easier said than done, though :P) This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

(Easier said than done, though :P) Yeah, especially since raiding is god-awfuly boring. They couldn't get it through their head that this character has been 70 for not even a month now. :wall:
June 15, 200719 yr Seeing as you are pretty experienced in the game now.. Do you think problems like this will cause you to be disillusioned with WoW? As in, do you think the end-game problems that exist could see you ditching the game? I seem to recall that you stated your lifespan on this game is limited already. I guess the only question I have now is, got any other games lined up if you do quit? This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

As in, do you think the end-game problems that exist could see you ditching the game? I seem to recall that you stated your lifespan on this game is limited already. I guess the only question I have now is, got any other games lined up if you do quit? Right now I don't really have anything lined up other than age of conan in 5 months. I've been thinking of giving DAoC a whirl, however. I am starting to like the game less however. The problem is is that if I were to stay I would want to become active in arena play. However I'm severly out geared, and in WoW you need gear to compete. What that means is that I would have to spend a good entire season just to get to where the players were at the beginning of the season! When a new one comes out I would again be behind the gear curve. I may write a review of what I've experienced at 70 for end game. I can say it won't be near as positive as when I was 20 and writing it. But yes I am on the verge of leaving. If I found a game I enjoyed I would hop to it instantly -- no questions asked.
June 15, 200719 yr Yeah, I figured you'd be into AoC. Still remember that post you made :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
June 15, 200719 yr I really can't explain it better than I already can BlueTear. You never really did answer me though, whats your gear like? I promise you that no well-geared lock is going to fear a rogue. Also a large portion of your damage comes from DoTs. My resiliance does nothing with that. While I'm losing a large amount of damage, you aren't. But once again, when I'm fully stunlocked til I die, I do no damage. I don't know if I ended up watching the full version of that movie, or just a trailer (patching TBC on my newly aquired laptop starting with only originial WoW discs from 2005 so I'm trying to preserve bandwidht >_>), but there's a couple of points worth raising. First of all, I'd like to point out that the warlock did pretty much exactly what I predicted; The spell left at his disposal was shadowburn and the _instant cast_ DoTs - and since CoA does 40% of it's damage on the last 3 ticks, CloS'ing out of it means more than you might think, reapply or no reapply - no immolate nor anything else with a casting time until the last drain in the fight I saw. And by then he'd used the felguard stun to gain some distance (Though I wonder how the heck that was possible... Crippling poison FTW?). I didn't quite expect him to solve that problem by spamming shadowburn (lol, I'll have to try that. It's as likely to piss me off as the rogue, but occasionally, it'll be worth it) but it worked out. It was not, however, always a win, nor a crushing victory - 452hp is pretty much a lifetap margin remaining. Second of all, why are destro/affliction 'locks not getting anywhere in the arena? 'cause they die, plain and simple. If warlocks are _forced_ to chose a particular specc to beat rogue/warriors (and both felgaurd and shadowburn are talented), and then and only then they have a shot, well, I'm not really seeing that as a case for rogues needing a buff. Especially not when it's still not a guaranteed victory nor a crushing one. Really that explains it better than I ever can. Like I said you really can't have any idea if you are running around with a low amount of hp and resiliance. I'm totally clueless because my PvP gear isn't extensive - and it isn't, resilience is still somewhere below 75, but mostly, I'm not soullink - but you know exactly how troublesome these issues are, without having the same gear as where the troubles would arise? Please, give me some credit for more than a year and a half of playing as a warlock. -This message was deviously brought to you by:
June 16, 200719 yr Author Guess what blue, I have to spec a certain way for the arena too. Its either 41/20 or 17/44, pretty much all the other specs suck for high up arena play. With 75 resiliance (what I guessed by the way) of course you are going to get destroyed. And yes I do know what the problems are. If you have played a rogue you know that in a fight if you get a stun resisted than there is going to be hell to had. Either way I really can't explain it any further than I already have.
June 16, 200719 yr Author I'm currently downloading the DAoC trial. Not sure if I'll enjoy it but it might be something to tide me over until age of conan. I've canceled my sub to WoW. It still will last until the 30th but yeah.

However a little down the line is Warhammer Online (Beta is out...) Age of conan is coming around october of this year, waiting for that. Scratch the DAoC idea though. Their servers have like 2k people on them peaked out :S. edit: going to look a bit more into Everquest II, perhaps.
June 16, 200719 yr Author You guys may be seeing more of me around WoW still. Tried EQ II some more and its just boring. Going to play around on some alts and just figure which one I enjoy the best. #-o I am going on vacation next week though so that will be a much needed break.

June 16, 200719 yr can anyone direct me to a good AH add on that tells you the usual selling price and stuff?
June 16, 200719 yr Right now I don't really have anything lined up other than age of conan in 5 months. I'm looking forward to this game also. Though I will have to get a new computer just before it's released so that I can actually play it. :P

This website used to have a tip section for that game :P) This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

June 16, 200719 yr Good stuff  I haven't been able to find the answer on the site, but will the game be broken up into realms/servers as it is in WoW, or will we be able to pick servers regardless of location? Would like the odd siege or two with you man :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
