Need a little help clarifying something - "MouseKeys"

Featured Replies

Some of you may know about MouseKeys - this is an Accessibility Option that comes with the Windows OS which allows people to use the 5 key on their numeric keypad to act as a left-click with your mouse.

I know this eases the gaming experience, but I'm not sure if this actually violates any Runescape rules. I haven't seen any clarifications on this, and I only got an irrelevant auto-reply after sending a query to Jagex.

Does anyone know if it is legal or illegal to use? :?

It's legal.

After querying Jagex regarding this issue, the Tip.It Staff has been informed that they have no problem with people using a keyboard instead of a mouse.

It's using a macro instead of a user that is the problem.

I have personally sent in a query to Jagex out this exact topic, and they say that as long as you are infront of you screen, typing the keys in manually, it is perfectly legal.

Ditto, because I use it when I alc or sell stuff to the store so I won't move the cursor when I am clicking.

while there isn't much point, if you turn on "one mouse button" you can do it.

If you want to right click with MK, you press the "*" key on your mousepad. If you want to left click again, press the "/" key on your mousepad.

And yes, it's completely legal.

Its been legal, they can't enforce it anyway 8-) .

java cannot identify what clicked the screen, all they get is a mouse click input. of cause, unless jagex add an active x scanning your system process, which is illegal...

anyway, they key to use any tools is to not saying it aloud, so they dont get alert of it...

yes, it's legal but i've been wondering...

what if you get an auto typer (illegal so don't take my idea(not that i'd use it)) and set it to 5 on the key pad then put it on  semi macro?

Yayyyyyy...

yes, it's legal but i've been wondering...

Then you'd be a macroer :ohnoes:

yes, it's legal but i've been wondering...

Rule 7 - Using Third Party Software

You must not use other software to gain an unfair advantage in the game. This includes automation tools, macros, bots, or auto-typers.
