February 13, 200719 yr Hi all, I am a lvl.36 mage and I am looking to improve my outfit a little bit, for more defence against rangers and warriors, while still keeping most of the magic bonuses. This is how my outfit used to be (I'm a black mage): Black hat Black cape, magic ammy Fire staff, Black robe, anti-dragon shield Black skirt Leather vambraces, leather boots. Now as the skirt gives no magic bonus at all, and the robe and hat give hardly any, I was looking for some better alternatives against rangers and warriors while getting no negative decreases in magic. This is what I was thinking of: Leather cowl / blue magic hat Monk's robe / Blue-Black robe Leather Chaps / Monk's skirt. I would like to keep at least one mage clothing in my equipment, but I would also like some defence bonuses from the leathers. Also, I don't really know if monk robes are worth wearing since I only have 27 prayer and no protect prayers yet. Any advice would be appreciated.
February 13, 200719 yr Yeah, mage robes. You know the kind the wizards wear at the tower in draynor, and monk robe bottoms. So it would look like this. Wizard Hat Wizard Robe top MonkRobe bottom (there is no wizard bottom, people just wear blue skirts) Then the new F2P boots. That's pretty much the F2P mage pking standard. =)

Can't I better wear some leather what I mentioned for better defence? Also what do you mean with 'new F2P boots'? Are there any boots besides the normal leather boots in F2P that I don't know about?

February 13, 200719 yr Fooling Items These items are mistaken for items that give magic attack bonus, yet they don't. Blue Skirt This gives NO magic attack bouns, it doesn't even give any kind of def bouns. Priest Gown (Top) This only gives prayer bonus, and not magic bonus, yet most people say it does. Priest Gown (Bottem) If you look at the stats for this it only gives prayer bonus, not magic. Anti-dragon shield This shield dosn't give magic attack bonus, is just the best shield for defense that doesn't less your magic attack. Real Items This are the ONLY items that give magic attack bonus. Wizard hats This comes in black and blue, the black and blue ones give the same magical bonus. Wizard robes This is the blue wizard robe, this also comes in a faded black color, not to be mistaken for the Priest Gown, the faded black one says "dark wizard robe" if you put your cursor over in in-game. Magic Amulet This is the best amulet for magic. Best Defence This is the best defence with out taken off the max magic attack bonus. Head: Wizard hat Notes: Black or Blue Amulet: Magic amulet Notes: none Cape: Any cape Notes: none Body: Wizard robe Notes: Can only be blue of faded black Hands: Leather chaps or gloves (read on for what to pick) Notes: Gloves work goos also, but they only give defense for stab attacks, leather chaps give defense for strenght attacks. Shield: Anti-dragon shield Notes: none Legs: Leather chaps Notes: none Feet: Leather boots Notes: none

February 14, 200719 yr Use Green Dhide Chaps and Body best defence for least negative attack. Still good against full runers which should be the only people your fighting. :roll: I united Mongolia, sent my Mongol Horde across Asia and made it to Europe... February 14, 200719 yr this is for best mage atk stats, may not offer best def: blue/blk hat doesnt matter blue robe top for sure monk bottom for sure(im pretty sure leather wud lower mage) mage ammy elemental staff(not magic staff or "staff") new boots lower mage i think.. u shud check that shield gives mage def bonus, but i think it lowers mage atk bonus pure:demon_x_king

Would I still be able to hit 8 with fire strike and 12 with fire bolt (lvl 41 magic)? Also, would a amulet of glory significantly hurt my mage attack compared to a magic amulet?

February 14, 200719 yr i use typical mage robes/ monk's bottem but every now and then i use run armor since my mage level is high enough that i don't have to worry about casting fire blast
February 15, 200719 yr Author Glorys are members, if your a member then forget every thing we all just told you because we though you were f2p. I am f2p but I made a mistake saying Glory amulets, what I meant was an amulet of power made from a diamond. All I am just trying to find is a good compromise between keeping high magic attack and adding a little more melee defense.
