HatshepsutLecter
Right now I am playing on my f2p nub fishing on the docks and I struck up a conversation with someone. During the course of this conversation, they said that two of the people on the docks were belonged to them. In short, they had just admitted that they were playing on two different accounts at the same time. I reminded them that this was against the rules, and they said that it was fine since the two accounts were both logged into separate computers. Well, now I am just confused. Does this guy know something that I don't know? I know that it is against the rules to be playing on two people on the same computer, but is it a fact that it is fine for you to be logged into two accounts at the same time on different computers? I think he is probably wrong but I had to ask on here to check. :P The Internet: where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.First Dragon Drop 5/6/2006 -Dragon Med from Bronze Dragon :DFirst Barrows Item From Chest 2/20/2007 - Verac's Brassard :D

Guest
If it is a rule it's a stupid one. If I have 3 computers I shouldn't be limited to playing runescape on only one of them at a time. What if I'm killing abby's on my main and cutting willows on free on a noob.
Bulb
As long as they stay on different computers and there's no interactions between those two, I think it's okay.
HatshepsutLecter
Well, even if that is not against the rules, he just said one of the accounts he was using at the time was really his brothers so I had to report him for account sharing. Now I am really curious about this. I wonder if there is a way I can get an answer from Jagex..... Kuroi_Ame
It is against the rules. You may create more than one RuneScape account, but if you do, you may not log in more than one account at any time, and they must not interact with each other in any way. This includes 'drop trading' or any other method of item transfer. Quoted from JaGeX's Knowledge Base. if there on the same ip its against the rules Wrong. If they are on the same IP, you'll just be found out sooner. You are not allowed to log onto two accounts at the same time. PhelimReagh
if there on the same ip its against the rules Lots of brother/sister/father/mother combinations play Runescape together on multiple PCs in the same house, using the same IP address, but using a router. Also, users of most dial-up services like AOL and earthlink have a only few IP addresses for thousands of users in a local area. So using the same IP address can't, and shouldn't, be used to ban folks.

baron8000
If you had two accounts logged in at the same time you would be technically AFK training one of them anyway - unless you had some kind of scary nerdy dual pc thingie - also illegal

Yassin765
Well since my best friend comes over like every day and stays for around 8 hours a day,we have to both use runescape at the same time. My friend uses my laptop and I use the computer. We use the same router on the same IP,and we have been doin it for months without even getting a black mark. But, if YOU log into 2 accounts at once,it is against the rules. I bet it's some totally awesome 20-stringed, dragon shaped instrument that doubles as a flamethrower/laser phaser. Or some really lame Chinese bamboo thing.

Mirror
Well the problem really comes down to who is playing which account at what time. Jagex can not determine who is playing each account at a specific time *unless they have security cameras on me*. They only way they can determine that is if you say something in game. It is illegeal to have two accounts on the same computer logged in at the same time, and it is illegeal to use another of your siblings or friends accounts. Anyway you look at it, what you were doing was illegeal. What I am not sure is what I think Trix brought up. What if they were both of your accounts and you had two computers in two seperate areas. As awkward as that sounds I have no idea. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
wakka102
I have two comps right next to each other. My brother plays his guy on one and I play my guy on the other. We aren't going to get banned because we don't interact.
Dalcyte
interesting errr..thing. He broke the rules, simple as that. You may create more than one RuneScape account, but if you do, you may not log in more than one account at any time, and they must not interact with each other in any way. This includes 'drop trading' or any other method of item transfer. they were good up until the bold part. You could feesibly do what trix said, but since he had two of them at the same place, where they could trade with eachother, its breaking the rules. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

Macmaster92
Jagex states that anything that gives players advantage over others is against the rules for the most part. I dont think its illegal for multiple people to log on to one IP address.
