I think skill capes are winning, but not by much...

i like the versatility of a rare. with my green mask, i am able to have multiple outfits, ive thought of about 10+ thus far. with a cape, its, in my opinion, harder to match cape with something. i mean, its pretty hard to match the fletching cape, unles you like gold trimmed adamantite, or matching the theiving cape with purple robes, yet some of the capes are really easy to match.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

but, when it comes down to which i would like to show more, probebly the 99 cape. firemaking would be the one i would go for too. i just like the way it looks. :mrgreen:

I think a rare would be better because mostly you could sell the rare to get 1+ skillcapes (buyable) in the end.

There's nothing more rewarding than spinning around, covered in lightning and enjoying every moment of it.

But it will depend on what rare too:

you can't buy a fishing cape (unless you go fishing at shilo and count the feathers. even then it's only like 2m)

I would use the money to 99. Yeah, rares show off your wealth, but in my opinion skills come first. After you get the high skills come the money to get the rares.

How about this, I would get a 99 in a skill where I either gained money, or did not lose any money. Then, I'd buy a rare.

Well my vote goes for having a skill cape. Rares are particularly impressive to have, but you have to remember that some people did just get them free a few years ago and when you think of it like that, it somehow seems less of an achievement.

 

 

 

With skill capes, you know how much time people have put into them, some are clearly better than others though. Although rares do increase in value, you can at least use your 99 skill to make money as well e.g. fletching bows or cooking sharks. Therefore, skill capes ftw (although i am miles off getting one)

I would get a skill cape of something that can make money (Runecrafting, Slayer, Herblore, etc.), but something like Cooking, or Firemaking, where you can't really make money, doesn't sound that good. I'd choose Skill Cape over rares, as long as I can get one in that skill. :D
