I don't know if I'd want to live for the sole reason of taking resources from the society. Of course, the idea of killing them is ridiculous, but at least make them do something productive, or live on their own savings. We got to keep the influx of future workers coming :) As it is every working american supports 3 retired/disabled/unemployed people, let alone the 14+ million illegals who are quickly getting such benefits as free medical and free college in many states. *gag* blame the liberals for that crap. I have 4 children (15, 12, 7, 1yo) and we are planning on another next year, love kids. Lost two at an early age due to Infantile Tay-Sachs disease, lose a few kids and it makes you appreciate life more. We can afford them, we make 6 figures a year, have investments, two new cars (2005 toyota highlander - wife, and I got a 2006 honda civic si-had to wait 4 months to get it because of the waiting list...love it by the way) a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home, go on a yearly vacation together (did a week at disney last year..awesome)and the kids go to different programs. Rich? rofl...oh my god no, comfortable? yes...money isn't everything, we could really have a nice lifestyle, and I could really have a nice car if we didnt have any kids....but you can't put a price on love and family. Wouldnt trade it for anything. Can't imagine the government telling me sorry, no more kids. Now as far as the ones who keep popping them out, and get on welfare? they should institute an automatic government paid for, reversible sterilization. Want welfare? no problem, snip snip...no more kids though. Get your crap together, and apply for a reversal. :) EDIT: now for the insightful comments about killing off old people *backhands* guess what? I know you can't imagine this, but you will be surprised just how fast life flies by, and you're one of those "hated old timers" clogging up the roads. After a life time of independence and the ability to walk outside, climb into your car, turn the key and drive where you want, to get to the age and realization that it is time to give someone the keys and stop driving, must be the single most depressing moment in anyone's life. To lose that mobility, the ability to just up and go to the store......sigh. As far as killing off the oldtimers because they are old and as one astute person said :wall: ...need to get a job...guess what bright child..they have worked... their whole lives and have earned the right, and the respect to retire and relax. To enjoy their golden years with their grand children. Who are you to take that away? remember, it will be you one day. First on my list would be even considering it. Find someone who smokes a packet a day, and walk up to them and tell them that they should only smoke half a packet a day. Even though smoking is bad for them, I highly doubt they'll listen to you. Now try walking up to every single couple in the world and telling them that they can only have X amount of children. I will guarentee you that at least half of them will swiftly and surely tell you to shove it where the sun don't shine. I for one feel that the choice to have children is a fundamental right of the couple themselves, and not something that can, or should be, regulated. . People don't like it and blame Governments when it happens then disapprove of things like ID cards to help stop it. People don't wan't to overpopulate the world, but not at the sacrifice and deem this as an infringement of their liberty. Same with straving people in Africa and the debate about the middle east and whether they should be "allowed" to catch up. If we wanted we could erradicate all poverty. However make all those people free to live and lessen the threat of disease ect you will have a very overpopulated world. At the end of the day it's down too the individual, and humans are selfish. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason.
