Runescape at its best?

With all the complaints about the community and immiturity, there still is a place you can go to find respect and people with some moral value.

My lvl 96 recently lost membership for a month, so i figured what the hell, why not go f2p pking?

I found that (at least amongst players 80+) nearly everyone fights fair and respects each other. People agree to rules, such as no armor, prayer ect. and almost always people follow the rules. The fights are in good nature and after almost every fight I see the dieing body saying"gf", and guess what the victor says? Not "NOOB!" or "free rune pl0x" they say "gf" right back.

My question is, why is this, the place where you are out to kill other players one of the few places you can find good gaming on runescape?

(ps don'f flame my spelling or grammar please)

Look its rob!

If you do not understand the rules of the game, do not play it.

In a death or alive battle, people used to take alot of honour towards their opponent. In the end, you are equel for that moment. You play by the rules as there is no other way to. You lose honour if you do not.

Besides, a fight is way more fun if you do not swear or humiliate (spelling?!) your opponent. I have had this with several other games to. One of these being BHD. I use a microphone and we more then once congratulate the other person for a nice shot, a good action or excellent teamplay. And also joke around. But insults, not that often. Ruins the game.

Whoa, you mean, BHD=Black Hawk Down? :P

on topic: I see this too sometimes, but only with higher lvl's though. Most of the times I see the pures flaming at eachother for safe-eating or something <.< .

Those who deserve respect are the ones that stay fighting, even if they ran out of food. They'd rather die with honour then run like a coward =D>

Also, don't forget that high leveled f2pers are probably the most experienced/mature bunch of players in RS.

They obviously have more perseverance than most, as they have stuck with the limited resources F2P has to offer, and made the best out of them.

The reason is that a loss of 100k, or even 250k if they are in full rune is not a tragic loss to them. They can easily get that back in an hour or so. I die all the time in F2P, and always say GF to the victor. As a ranger I lose all of 30k when I die, so why would I care about protecting item or using o/h prayers!!

Personally I dont know what everyone is complaining about. I'm 126 and I rarely run into any rude or mean noobs. I also went to world 1 lumby with my white phat and prayer cape and did the emote over and over  . Nobody was rude, nobody was mean. I even got the whole place to do a jig  .

That's because you don't see alot of 126'ers in F2P

For most of them it's like:  =P~ Whoa, you're 126 :o you're like... GOD

They show respect for you, because you are 126 ::'

oooh, well, I went one time to a friend of me(he's lvl 123) and we went on a F2P world, and nobody was begging or something, all I saw was people saying 'nice cb' or something like that ::'

There will always be beggars,... so why even pay attention to them?

If you just say nicely 'go work for your money' or something, nobody gets hurt \'

Beggars dont bother me, the only thing that bothers me is people who are being rude/mean. I had a guy making fun of me because I dont like to pk, saying that I was a loser and stuff for not pking. I got him muted \' . Thats hte onlky case I've had so far.

Sounds like F2P pking is much more lively and fun :D

Also, there are less unbalanced thigns such as the dragon dagger... and ancients which totally screw with the combat triangles and stuff.

Yeh ancients reallly does screw the triangle, moreso that pures are able to use them.

The "gf" stuff is happening in P2P more regularly now, I like it alot. It's much better than the person who got killed saying "ffs" and the victor going "haha" or "noob", but there is still the issue with PJ'ers, "teletubbies" and safe eaters.. What so someones going to bring the food out and not eat it til theres a chance they are gonna get killed? Don't be stupid.

I don't see why people think that f2p is full of noobs and beggers and all that other junk... It's really not that bad for me. I went from 3 to 90 in f2p... I never really had any trouble.. sure there's a few people here and there, but that's just a couple of people.

I can't really say about PKing, because I don't PK, but I do notice that high level F2Pers are normally quite mature, or at least polite. Something I can't say from low level F2Pers. Which is just about the whole F2P all together.

the dueling arena is also like this, rarely do you see flamming and it is a common sign of politness to type gf after every duel no matter the out come.

its true that runescapes over all maturatly level has plunged into the ground ever since a certain advertisment move was made, but there still are people that know how to respect other people, a rare trait but not yet extinct.

This is not entirely true.

I was PKing on my level 34 Ranger(50 range ftw?) and the convo went as such:

Me - You skull?

him - y3s

Me: ok we have to go to level 7 wildy, cus our cmb is to far apart

him - No noob your trying to scam me, im low on food, only 1 lob

me: ok u skull no food

him: ok

*we walk there*

i hit an immediate hit a 12 with my maple short

he hits a 15, i hit 2 more 12s and then i see

Him Eating

So, ofcouse, instead of breaking the rules and getting mad, i kept fighting him abiding by the rules of which we made first. He ofcourse killed me, and said in pms

"hahahah noob i was eating the whole time"

"i know, i wasnt gonna break the rules like u"

"well ur a no nothing noob"

"Atleast i got dignity"

"Free Dhide and arrows PLOX"

Stupidnoob has logged out.

eh?

we were given this privledge to get easy exp, everything has a cost.
