Sy_Accursed
Originally I played rs for pure fun and to escape real life stresses for a few hours each day. But now there are more reasons: Friends - RS offers a place to make new friends regardless of age etc etc, for example in rs when I get talking to some people I eventually learn their old enough to be my mum or something. Also helping people is a big part of why I play rs these days, sure I've not done all that much lately. But normally I try to write guides to new quests if I do them before any good guides have popped up and if a friend or NICE person asks for some sort of help I try to give it. Does it bug me that every other person that pms me through private about one of my guides on tip.it leaves me on their list as a 'friend' and expects me to do stuff with them? sure. Am I gonna put private to friends and not help them? no. Chubbysanta
I realised after no lifeing a fair bit of Sunday that runescape is only good in half hour doses-and every 6 months a quit, usually. Then come back for a while and repeat the process. I Quit. You should too.
Cryptogram
I play because I like to meet people, find out what they do, and make use of my experience in the game by helping others (there's no point in hoarding experience imho because it's us vs. the world). Yesterday, some idiot was stood in the flax-spinning room in Lumbridge castle, shutting the door and making it difficult for people to come in and go out. He said (amongst other rantings) that he was depressed because he had a shattered knee and couldn't walk properly, so he didn't see why anyone else should have an easy time. There are aspects of personal behaviour in Runescape that have their similies in real life; this guy would probably be a miserable bully, and socially excluded by his own choice, rather than getting on with life. I asked him to add me, then I switched worlds so that I didn't have to put up with his behaviour. To my amazement, he did add me, and told me in great detail what was troubling him. After chatting for a while, he said he felt better and was no longer causing a nuisance, and that he was off to the wilderness to see how many players he could kill. So, Runescape stops being just a game when stuff like this happens, and becomes a real, live community of people. That's what I feel is its biggest success, and what really appeals to people. Of course, there are those who take it really seriously, and don't take time to get to know anyone... No judgements though. Don't follow me. You might not make it.All your accounts are belong to us now.If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator
