new mem having trouble deciding

wat shud a lv80 train on in mems? i jus want something with good drop and a place were i can get food convieniently. dont say stuff nonmems can kill im bored of it, i cant rememebr how much moss giants ive killed #-o

start on slayer itll give you a variety of things to kill and places to find

The dungeon in Taverly is also a good place as there are many monsters that are new for members. But I agree with asianboy7o7 try slayer out first and explore that way.

Slayer opens up alot of members stuff for you.

And possibly training on rock crabs though you're higher than normal for them.

so how does slayer work do u get xp for every kill of the type u have to kill or just get a whole [wagon] load when u finish your job. i started slayer and i gotta say its just a bad excuse for a new skill.

Yes you get experience for every monster that you kill while you are on task. Btw what Slayer Master are you using?

Theres only one slayer, maybe Ghostly Warriors for 80 def then buy Barrows?

isnt it 70 def? but anyways, i feel that training on experiments or yaks would do u good

Slayer, take it or leave it.

Slayer is meant to be a money-making skill, at least it was when it first came out. The whole idea being that the higher your slayer level, the more access to high leveled monsters with really good drops you got. Hence why it's worth training up high so you can go destroy Spiritual Mages for Dragon Boots, Abyssal Demons for whips, Dark Beasts for dark bows, etc. A majority of slayer task monsters have really good drops.

You will never be able to kill abyssal demons and get whip drops if you never level up Slayer.

Funny how all the TOP SLAYERS have maxed melee stats(because of slaying) and are some of the richest players in RS. I would do this "quest w/a plot" whole day if it could make so much money. Yeah i can see how making money and getting combat exp is considred a useless skill.

Also an option beside slay:

do a lot of quest

that way you'll unlock new training-places (and monsters) and ways to get there.

It's also a way to find out which member-skills you like

For slay at your level, I advice to use vanaka (dungeon under edgevil, near the pipe to varrock sewers)

If you do lost city, you could switch to chaeldar)

I tried doing Slayer. Butt hen I got Kalphites and I don't know how to get to them. One thing you could train on is experiments. AFKable, 100 hp, level 25 with no attack or strength. Do the Creature of Fenkenstrain to unlock them. The best spot is right next tot he entrance, because there are two spawns close together.

Experiments are for losers. ;)

And plus, I love slayer, but it is generally just an excuse for more people to train combat - and pretty much is just someone telling you what to kill. Not really a "skill" as much as most of the others.

Actually same, just remembered the 3 hours it took from 57 to 60 attack there.... And yes, they are not afkable.

OT: Maybe do some quests? They give exp and you might get a better idea of what to do.

ehh who cares about spelling on some forum. well, not very good w/ spelling in school but writing essays are wayyy more important :thumbsup: . why ppl getting so butthurt over fact tht im calling slayer nto a skill? i think slayer is just like all combat things except u get rewards...its not a skill, would u consider doing holiday events a skill(beside the fact u have t ouse tht tiny brain of urs)?

Spelling is important actually, it's not so much spelling words incorrectly, just simply not using "u" and "tht" etc. Actually, to show how important it is, I'm going to write my whole answer in chatspeak:

You get to kill higher leveled things as you level up, for example you try killing a dark beast at level 1 slayer and prepare too be destroyed. It's a good money maker, and is more fun than powerleveling. That's why it's so popular here, great money compared to just powertraining something, more experience as you get experience is slayer too, basically free total levels, the ability to kill better things for better rewards, plus levels seem to come quicker as you are not concentrating on them as much.[/hide]

good luck trying to convince this guy to train slayer as he think summoning is useless and serves only to mess up your comb lv. just try the skill before passing judgment. I used to hate farming before actually trying it. If ur going to train your comb u will see how useful summon is, that is if you are ever going to train it.
