Fgfuyfyuiuy0's Guide to Gold mining

fgfuyfyuiuy0

This is for smithers who don't want to loose money on buying materials and instead get levels and make profit efficiently.

Are you on a tight budget? Would you like to mine gold ore without walking more than just to mine the outcrops? Well, look no further!

This guide will efficiently teach you the route to mining gold and an easy way about doing it. I found myself on a tight budget and needing 10k plus gold ore. I looked around, pieced together some items, and used them to produce a route to a mining location and to the bank in no time at all. I've only ever come across 1 person! 1 person mining there. All I did was change worlds.

The guide's content is written in this color and also has sections and paragraphs for easier finding. So, if I reference to something, I will do it in the context of [s;P] ([section;Paragraph]). Example. If I was referring to Section E. and paragraph 2 to reference the Ring of Dueling Banking route, then I would say [E;2].

40 Mining

40 Crafting

[2] Required Items:

This is if you are going to smith this gold. The gold gauntlets give twice the xp. when smelting. This guide doesnt cover smelting, but this is for if you would like to smith the gold you acquire.

[5] So, this is what you should look like:

[section B]

----Mining Spot----

[1] Now, you may ask "What is the mining spot you are referring to that requires no walking and has plentiful respawns?" If the content didn't give it away already then I would answer "The Crafting Guild!"

The crafting guild is the perfect place to mine, but it's far away from a bank. So, how would you fix this? Teleporting! The great thing about the Crafting Guild is that there is a teleport right to it thanks to the Skills Necklace:

(2a)

teleport_locations.png

[section C]

----Overview----

[1] What about banking? Well, there are a couple alternatives that differ on the person. One would cost some money and the other you may already have. The first option is not reusable while the second is. The first doesn't take up that extra inv. space while the second does. It's the Ring of Dueling and Amulet of Glory. Both of these objects teleport you right by a bank. They're very helpful, but can be somewhat costly in bulk.

[2] The Ring of Dueling teleports you into Castle Wars where you can bank immediately. It's time efficient as you don't have to go recharge the Ring of Dueling, but they do disintegrate. The thing is that you have to spend money to make money. All the gold ore you smelt into bars can be sold for profit which will pay back for the loss that the Ring of Duelings cost. Plus, I only spent like 200k(?) on 50 of them.

[3] The Amulet of Glory is a rechargeable amulet. It provides teleports as well as a bonus in mining more gems when it is charged. You can recharge the Amulet of Glory in the fountain under The Hero's Guild. These you can keep even after you use them, but they are costly for a lot. Again, spend money to make money. The profits in the end will surpass the cost of these items.

Alright, so you will need to buy these items or you can possibly craft them yourself, but you will need to use some math to figure out how many you will need. No sense in buy more than necessary!

[section D]

----Math Equations----

[1] Ring of Dueling equation

[a] You will need to first find out the ore you wish to acquire. If you wish to acquire a certain level, then use the Tip.It calc to figure out how much ore you need.

[.b] Now, divide your total ore amount by 28. Example:

[c] I need 10,000 gold ore. If I divide by 28, I get 357.1428---. This is how many trips you need to take. No matter what, in this situation, you while round up. Since you can't take .1 of a trip and since it is considered a trip that you already went there then it's correct in this situation to round to 358.

[d] Now, divide your total by 8. Example:

[e] Say I had to take 358 trips. If I divide by 8, I get 44.75. Now, you can't have .75 of a ring, so again round up no matter if it is .0001. So, I would get 45.

This number you get is how many Ring of Dueling you will need to buy.

[2] Amulet of Glory equation

If you are deciding to buy Amulet of Glory then this would be your equation:

[a] Divide your total by 27.

[.b] I need 10,000 gold ore. If I divide by 27, I get 370.3703---. This is how many trips you need to take. No matter what, in this situation, you while round up. Since you can't take .3 of a trip and since it is considered a trip that you already went there then it's correct in this situation to round to 371. It takes more trips with Amulet of Glory as your necklace place is already occupied by the Skills Necklace, so the Amulet of Glory takes more trips which means more time.

[c] Now, divide your total by 4. Example:

[d] Say I had to take 371 trips. If I divide by 4, I get 92.75. Now, you can't have .75 of an amulet, so again round up no matter if it is .0001. So, I would get 93.

[e] Now, this if you are doing the Amulet of Glory route, I am not telling you to go buy that many amulets. This equation is showing you the MAX you want to buy. If you buy 10, then that's fine. The equation is just showing you the max that you shouldn't buy over.

[3] Skills Necklace equation

[a] Now, divide your total ore amount by 28. Example:

[.b] I need 10,000 gold ore. If I divide by 28, I get 357.1428---. This is how many trips you need to take. No matter what, in this situation, you while round up. Since you can't take .1 of a trip and since it is considered a trip that you already went there then it's correct in this situation to round to 358.

[c] Now, divide your total by 4. Example:

[d] Say I had to take 358 trips. If I divide by 4, I get 89.5. Now, you can't have half of a ring, so again round up no matter if it is .0001. So, I would get 90.

[e] Again, this is just like the Amulet of Glory. I am not telling you to go buy that many amulets. This equation is showing you the MAX you want to buy. If you buy 10, then that's fine. The equation is just showing you the max that you shouldn't buy over.

[section E]

----Crafting Guild Route----

[1] Now, you may teleport to the Crafting guild from wherever you are. If you are going with the Ring of Dueling method then make sure your wielded items looks like picture (1a) back in [A;5].

Once in the Crafting Guild, I tend to follow a certain path. This allows for the rocks to all be mined and I end in a full inventory from completing this route. This allows for them to respawn back in time so that after I bank, they are already there.

(3a)

mining_route.png

X = Start; O = End

[2] Banking simply requires you to teleport with the Ring of Dueling to Castle Wars, bank your 28 ore, replace any jewelry (if necessary), then teleport back to the Crafting Guild with the Skills Necklace.

[3] If you are using the Amulet of Glory method, then you would teleport to Edgeville, bank your 27 ore, replace any jewelry (if necessary), then teleport back to the Crafting Guild with the Skills Necklace.

[section F]

----Recharging Necklaces----

[1] Your Skills Necklace will run out of recharge points at some point. To refill them, you simply go to the Legends Guild and use the necklaces with the totem from the quest. It is in the main building. There is a bank in the Legend's Guild also, so if you have more than 28 then just go upstairs, bank, and go recharge.

[2] If you are using the Amulet of Glory method, then you would go to the Heros Guild, go under the building, and recharge your amulets. Make sure to bring them all as well.

[section G]

----Hourly Ore Amount----

[1] From different runs, I got an average of 7.5 trips an hour. I was level 63 mining at the time of these tests, so it could be faster for higher levels. So, the equations below are based off of a level 63 miner and based off of 7 or 8 trips in an hour.

[2] Ring of Dueling method allowed for me to get 28 ore a trip.

[a] 7 trips = 196 ore. Gold is 65 xp. each, so I got 12,740 xp. an hour.

[.b] 8 trips = 224 gold ore. Gold is 65 xp. each, so I got 14,560 xp. an hour.

[3] Amulet of Glory method allowed for me to get 27 ore a trip.

[a] 7 trips = 189 ore. Gold is 65 xp. each, so I got 12,285 xp. an hour.

[.b] 8 trips = 216 gold ore. Gold is 65 xp. each, so I got 14,040 xp. an hour.

[section H]

----Why?----

[1] Thats a very good question. Why would you do the Crafting Guild route? Its simple. Its easy. All you do is you teleport right in front of the guild and then you teleport back to the bank. There is no walking and it isnt time consuming. The Brimhaven mining site requires walking and time. It requires you to recharge amulets, so the Crafting Guild is no better in time recharging, but it is faster in the long run.

Good luck miners and I hope this guide helped you!

I love it when new guides are made, it's great reading them. So, I'll start my constructive critism...

Don't use too much abbreviations. "AoG" and "AoD" makes the guide much more complicated than it has to be, when you could just spend an extra ~30 seconds to use the replace function on word, or 3 to do it manually.

Also, try to make the guide easier on the eyes. Use different sizes and colors to make the sections easier to read. The overall format isn't that great, try to work on that.

Alright, so how is it now? I color-oriented each field and put the same coloring for the Table of Content, so they can figure out what each color means.

Great guide, I do suggest a few things though:

1) Theres a bank in the Legends Guide (Wow, how many people know that? :o ) So if you have +28 skill necklaces, you won't have to be seen running to Andouge. Only up a ladder and a staircase instead ;) .

2) Like Kent said, try to find a different color of font for your guide. Black always does wonders, but if you want your regular font, like what I'm typing right now, a different color, pick a color; preferbebly one thats the opposite of gray. Whatever that it, I don't know. However, with the titles of a section, keep those a different color then the color of your font, and also BOLD them if you want.

3) If you can stand to mine more gold, do a couple of timed runs, then add that up to how much gold per hour. It always nice to know, and then with that, try to find a profit per hour? (If you just sold ores. Making into bars would add to the amount of work, you would be doing, although I guess it would help some people.)

Edit: My bad, didn't want to bother looking if you had them bolded, and, oops, you did.

Good guide. Might try when I return to mining.. If I ever do.

Anyway, you can also use the Balloon network to get to the Crafting Guild. One Oak log is required to go from Castle Wars to Crafting Guild.(After you unlock it of course)

That is true. Once I have time to take pictures and figure out the route, I will add it to the guide for people who don't want to spend money on Skill Necklaces.

In all honesty, it's even more confusing. Try to use only white colors for the majority of your text, but highlight the headings in a single color.

Does black look good? Stands out a bit more and less confusing than the blue text.

Okay. I am mining anyways, so this shouldn't be a problem to do.

For those who have completed the varrock diary, bringing varrock level 3 armor will allow you to occasionally get a double ore from a rock, well worth the inventory space of bringing it along.

Yeah, I was thinking about adding that, but I realized that it takes up a inv. space as the apron takes up the body part, so if the person would like to mine faster, but teleport more then it is their own decision.

  • 1 month later...

have you tried putting your house in brimhaven, i tele there and mine full load + terrorbird with varrock armour 2. at level 75 the rocks only spawn fast enough on a populated world, the crafting guild is too slow. i dont know what level guild comes to slow and brimhaven becomes more efficient. ill post back times etc...i use the first tab on bank and scroll to where my house runes are so it never changes and use duelling ring cos bank is only one click. doesnt seem to be crowded on any worlds now because of stars being added.

Well written, but I disagree with the content. With higher mining levels, 5 gold rocks isn't enough even on a full world. When I mined gold I used the Birmhaven spot which has double amount of gold spawns and on top of that a respawning gold ore, which you can just pick up without any effort. Best way to reach it is with fairy rings (B J R) and a magic whistle. I forgot the details how to get a magic whistle again after you've done the Holy Grail quest, but I'm sure it's only a little effort.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

You may want to consider mentioning the Mining Level boosting familars, as well as the Beasts of Burden familiars, as they are a great addition to the arsenal of methods exclusive to members.

Also, you might as well post an F2P version of the guide. Also, why limit your guide to a single location? Explore other Gold Mining spots.

I admired the fact that you considered posting and explained the entire idea of your guide- "Why I should mine Gold ore?"

It's pretty good, but would better fit as a beginning guide, work on it! :D

I think Brimhaven is much better. If you have your house there, you just teleport to your house and use dueling rings to bank. You don't need to spend time recharging your glories and/or skill necklaces either. The mine isn't that much longer, and there's a summoning obelisk on the way too. The Brimhaven mine also has two more rocks and an ore that spawns on the ground. You also don't lose an inventory space with an apron, so you can use Varrock armor. You could stock up on aprons and drop them each time you enter the guild, though.

With 93 mining and Varrock armor 3, I got about 8 trips an hour with my terrorbird, including banking and running. This got me about 320 ores/hr.

Overall, I'd say use the Brimhaven mine if you're going to mine gold on members. I might give this method a try though... See what numbers I get..
