Dizzle229
I am really pissed off at Soul Wars right now. I tried to play it today for the first time, and man, got a big piss off. I'm level 86, so why the hell am I so goddam ineffective at this? It takes a lot of hours of playtime to get 86, and I can't even be of any assistance here! I'm just not hitting on people, and when I do, it's rarely anything worth mentioning, the best I've had was a 14 in SW, and that was LUCKY. RAGE!!!! P.S. I'm not suggesting that anything should be changed about it, I'm just here to vent. Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Then again, if you admit it, a mod can lock it, so I guess you won't. Curious way of bending the rules to prove your point about the rants forum :P I agree with you, though. I just wouldn't risk pissing off the mods to prove a point ;) Anyway, for the sake of the fun of debating, we'll see if I can corner a smart person acting dumb 8-) Ok, so your not doing well against people at or below your combat level? Since I'm assuming you have fairly normal, balanced stats, you must be having bad luck. How large is your sample size? You can't simply play half a dozen games and go 'wow jagex sucks cauase im not hittin'. Unless you have significant proof (READ: 100+ hours of carefully standardized testing) you can in no way assume that your account or levels are being penalized for any reason. X3EN
I assume you are using whip or a scimitar. Did you know they are the worst (except cheap ranged) weapons to use in sw? Look on the bright side: I am lvl 95, more or less balanced. Without anchor I never hit anyone except lvl 60s. I wouldn't be able to kill a lvl 60 in meelee armor with a whip, only a less than lvl 60 ranger with red dhide. Forget about whip, it's never gonna work. D mace is NOT better to use, because while it manages to hit it is far too slow and too weak. So you can either use dds spec + anchor or anchor with it's spec (consumes 50%). Still, the spec is extremely inaccurate so I would recommend dds. it might look that the anchor sucks at first, but it's the ultimate tool if you don't want/can't buy a gs. (I've hit 24-21 on this lvl 113 once) anchor is alot more consistent in hitting your opponent than slash weaps, and it hits hard enough. R.I.P. oO000oO0oO00, RS2 range pure transformed to a maxed PvM char in EoC, ten years of time completely wasted.Good to be gone :)
compfreak847
Did you know whip + defender is the absolute best weapon, sara sword is the 2nd best, and d scimmy + defender is the 3rd best? Godsword is somewhere behind d scimmy. Anchor is far, far behind that. Don't give out faulty advice; the scimitar has been tested and proven to be the best weapon next to whip\ss. Then again, this whole post is a joke :x Drops: 1x Draconic Visage, 56x Abyssal Whip, 5x Demon Head, D Drops: 37, Barrows Drops: 43, DK Drops: 29GWD drops: 14,000x Bars, 1x Armadyl Hilt, 2x Armadyl Skirt, 4x Sara Sword, 1x Saradomin Hilt, 8x Bandos Hilt, 8x Bandos Platebody, 9x Bandos Tassets, 4x Bandos Boots, 43x Godsword Shard, 82x Dragon BootsDry streak records: Saradomin 412 kills Bandos 988 kills Spirit Mages 633 kills - Slayer Sucks
Dizzle229
Yes, I'm using the whip. You can see my Combat stats in my hiscores link, pretty balanced. Anyway, I'm not complaining to Jagex, like I said I don't want anything changed. I'm just annoyed that I can't hit anything. Get back here so I can rub your butt. Troacctid
Well, the combat system in Soul Wars is no different from the one in Castle Wars, Clan Wars, Fight Pits, PvP worlds, or anywhere else, so I don't know what to tell you. If you can't effectively kill the other team members, then you can always play the supporting role and collect shards, bury bones, set up barricades, or heal your teammates with bandages. obfuscator
At level 86 you should be able to camp the slayer monsters for shards. It seems to me that people rarely get killed there, and you can be of huge assistance to your team by gathering shards and using them on the obelisk once the rest of your team gains control. Dizzle229
That was the role I wanted to play, but most of the time my team doesn't even control the obelisk. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
Troacctid
Well in those cases you can bury bones to restore your avatar's level, I guess. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
fenrir321
If you have high enough defense without prayer, you can try to tank by camping at the enemy's supply tables indefinitely. This is a fairly good tactic because some people just can't resist the temptation to attack and try to kill you. As long as there are more of your people at the obelisk than the opponents', it doesn't matter if the opponent is dead or distracted. And I'd suggest using zeal points on nothing but melee stats for survival. You can do the summoning later and the gamble is only about 40k per try. Kiriyama
Well, to put it simply, you suck. Level 86 is nothing. Repeat after me. Nothing. Equal stats never work out in the end. If you want to hit more, get higher attack. Really, for PvP minigames, its like Attack > Defence > Strength. Really, wheres the point in being able to hit high if you can't hit, or if you have low defence and lower attack. In short, your problem is you need to train. Kiriyama
Yeah, I've probably done at least 5 times that. Look, you may think thats enough time, but its not. I don't [bleep] that despite spending around 95 hours on FFX that I still can't beat the Dark Aeons. You want to do good, then you have to work for it. Level 86 means nothing. I probably spent around 50-75 hours on an account and got it to around level 60 in F2P without trying. That was nothing to me. I'd understand your rant alot more if you were around level 115 and had alot of decent stats, but really, the fact is, you suck. Kiriyama
No, what I'm saying is you have no right to [bleep] about people have put more effort into their character than you. That and you're probably using a whip against a platebody, which is pretty stupid. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
Dizzle229
I use a whip at Slayer monsters, Dbaxe for players. And did you read the entire thread? Troacctid
A problem, maybe, but not one that has anything to do with Soul Wars. Like I said, the combat system is the same there as it is everywhere else. :notalk: Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Kilo
I don't hit on my people my level or lower all the time and I'm level 121. yanksrule
sorry to kill your eyes and such but, here's a wall of text for your viewing pleasure. oxymoron? i think not! VVVVVV read this part to keep your eyes from bleeding there's some information in there that gets repeated later, so i made the unimporant stuff bold. only in the following paragraph however ^^^^^ so i did a little thing called research and i looked up this guy. sum up: 4.5m exp overall (6 skills not listed) [2.96m meele] lets look at me: 44.3m experience (16.33m meele) meele=str, atk, hp, def. now it took me 3 days to get my strength level that i got yesterday. safe to say about 4-5 hrs of playing each day. now about i really don't want to say that during all of that i did strength training. i also had a little bit of help. i had stealing creation armor (lots of it) to help me train it. so i trained at red spiders for a little while untill my 3 helms ran out of charges. i'd roughly say that took arpox. 2 hours (i know because i talked to my sister for an hour on the phone and my cell's right next to me). killed some cockroaches like i always do when i'm bored. then i bs'd with my friend there *later time* for about 3 hours with no stealing creation armor on (although i did have full dharoks on, i also had to teach my friend how to get into cockroaches :XD: he got the safety first emote). however because we were bs'ing i didn't powertrain, i didn't get all the kills i could have or all the damage (i also died because of neglegence that took about a good 5 minutes, but that's another story). that's a summary of my 3 days. for the record- i know how long it took me to get my strength level because it was the level before it became the highest one above all my other skills as well as it getting me to 1800 total level. fairly memorable. if you want to account for everything- i've been sick since friday so my reaction time isn't at it's premium. so lets summarize! [we're almost there!] so in about 3 days, 4-5 hours of playing, about 15 hours with each day, not totally training strength every minute of every day, and about -roughly because i didn't have a stopwatch on me- i'd say i trained for a good 8 hours. which means i got 861 experience every minute, and 14 experience every second. (variables will come in 2 paragraphs!) now using the highscores and tip.it's xp table- so it took me approximately 8 hours to get 413,482 experience in strength. you need 48,576 to get to your next strength level. with some added numbers it takes you 485,762 experience too get too 76. wowee! you can get almost 5 strength levels in the time it takes me to get 1  ! isn't it amazing!? i sure find it to be that way! ok some variability takes place: my strength level was 87 before with the other stats my attack is level 86. i used a saradomin sword, the aforementioned stealing creation armor (only one peice at a time varying from helm legs to plate), dharoks, and i used my dragon battleaxe special. my equipment was a netiz helm, dboots, fighter torso, barrows gloves, and glory amulet, wealth ring, quest cape (<3:). so if you want to add about 3-4 hours to make it accurate, it'd be fairly appropriate. some negative variability: i'm sick with a cold making me have a headache. i didn't power train (power train= being as efficiant as possible to train any given skill). i did the dharoking at 12am to 3 am under the influence of cough syrup. i went on myspace to check up on things that took about a half hour due to sending a complicated message. i did some farming here and there, herblore, and some merchanting. did penguins for a little bit in addition. so if you want to keep it the same, it'd be fairly appropriate. so about those 500 hours :/ who said you need 500 hours? You're basically telling me to spend 500 hours on this. No deal. Dizzle229
That and the fact that I just don't have the patience to play this game for hours a day.
