Your best way to train...

Recommended Posts

Post here your best, mabe innovatio method of mage training!

I'm first :)

I prefer Alching ( this is not innovation method!) to train my magic lvl. It is not slow not fast and very tranquillity and CHEAP! I like cheap methods becouse I'm so poor...

As sad as it is, PC beats every method I can think of. At least when I'm getting 160kish exp per 100 points anyways.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Yea i like PC too, and i will train on mage train arena (1 lvl more :P) :)

I heard from friend about ice bursting or ice barraging skeles in Damis lair or other "multiarea monsters". Who try out this method?

I just use my own advice, as pegged at the following URL:

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=3980205#3980205

Pasting it again here, though. The last person I was helping regarding this was some guy by the name of Rednik. (Looks like they got banned, however. LOL  ...Seriously, I have no idea why. :( ...) ...Have a Look:

I just went and grabbed my ultimate definitive answer from another thread (http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=3779339#3779339), so here you be, Rednik...

Best Possible F2P Mage Clothing Layout is as follows:

+ Blue/Black Wizard Hat

+ Blue/Black Wizard Robe

(... shirt section)

+ Monk Bottom

(... Best option since normal mage bottom option gives no stat boosts!!!)

+ Anti-Dragon Shield

(... Absolute Best Option for an F2P mage!!! No Penalty to Mage Attacks!!! Blocks Fire Attacks better!!! Provides Mage Defense Boost!!!)

+ Leather/Colored Gloves & Leather Boots

(... Any other option for hand and foot wear causes penalty to mage attacks!!!)

+ Cape

(... Absolute Essential! DO NOT FORGET!)

+ Magic/Defense/Power Ammy

(... Choose as you wish, but everyone knows a "Power Ammy" is the best. I only mention the other ones for those who don't like the top option for some reason.)

+ Air Staff/Fire Staff

(... Either of these will do, but the "Air Staff" has the best versatility. Only use the "Fire Staff" if you're a "Fire Attack Only"-type of mage...)

Also, Wizard Hats can be bought from Betty in Port Sarim. As for the Wizard Robe Shirts, you MUST kill 'Wizards'/'Dark Wizards' to get one or buy it from other players.

I think that says it all. Just gather your runes/food/other-items-you-need and go!!!

LATE EDIT: (Pulled this from yet another thread that I replied to... Answer from http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=3942547#3942547 includes additional help beyond the other post...)

For an F2P mage, here's the best possible layout I have figured out:

-- Blue Wiz Hat

-- Blue Wiz Shirt (Robe)

-- Monk Bottom

-- Power Ammy

-- Anti-Dragon Shield

-- Air Staff/Fire Staff (Take both if you can!)

--------------

Rune Layouts (If Air Staff): 300 bodys, 835 waters, 735 earths, 1500 minds, 4505 fires, 55 laws ... You'll be casting Fire Strike and using curse/confuse/weaken ... the full combination is known by my direct experience to make an enemy an easily-killed punching bag. If you get beaten up, use some of the extra 5 of each type to tele out of an area.

Rune Layouts (If Fire Staff): 300 bodys, 835 waters, 735 earths, 1500 minds, 3105 airs, 55 laws ... You'll be casting Fire Strike and using curse/confuse/weaken ... the full combination is known by my direct experience to make an enemy an easily-killed punching bag. If you get beaten up, use some of the extra 5 of each type to tele out of an area.

Notes:

Now, if you're using a fire staff, feel free to add nature runes (max of about 60 to 100) to your stocks for high-alching stuff you pick up.

Also, Telegrab as needed. But hopefully, you won't be doing too much of that?

--------------

Recommended additional carried items:

-- Full Rune Armor, with kite/scimitar selection for rapid combat safety in situations where getting to your drops is a pain and you want to save laws...

-- 10 swordfish/10 lobsters, minimum. Take your pick. Carry more if you don't use full rune armor.

-- Chisel ... Great for gems and whatnot.

-- Axe/Tinderbox ... gotta cook with logs ...

-- Harpoon or Lobster Pot/Cage ... (Argh, all those item names, makes my head spin ...) You still need to be able to get food if a bank ain't near. :?

=================

Outfit as you'll need to, based on specs above. I know I haven't covered other staffs, but I only see certain ones as effective as the F2P'er I am.

BTW, a few tweaks to the second specification set, and you can pull off deadly Fire Blasts.

(Before I say more, I had to strip some emotes in my quoting due to Tip.It's Forum-wide settings... sorry. :( ...)

Put simply, start with loading out like that...

(Just a tip: For mainland non-wildi operations, make sure you have a lot of food pre-banked (like 200 swordfish/lobsters), then you can leave the Axe/Tinderbox/Harpoon/Lobster Pot(a.k.a. Lobster Cage) all in the bank and carry more food. ...)

...then head down and train against the "Ankou (Level 75)" monsters. You'll have good stuff in no time. Oh, and BTW, use melee first until the Ankous go non-aggressive, then switch to safespotting as a mage! :)

D_V_Devnull thank you so much! Cool method to rain mage on f2p i will try out when i will be f2p (15 days remain  )

You're very welcome. :)

As an added note, make sure you train runecrafting up by making tons of member runes before then. You'll need them as an F2P'er. Especially the Natures, Laws, and Chaos. Deaths are reserved normally here for when you're really ticked off and/or have run into something/someone who wishes to die.

BTW, while you train, if you need to rush up to something to grab stuff under it and get back to your safespot without being harmed badly, equip a ton of "bind" rune sets along with the "curse/weaken/confuse", "high alch", and "fire strike/bolt/blast" sets. (Sorry I missed that in my original info. :( ...)

All of you try to stay with me on this.

EARTH STRIKE IS BETTER THEN FIRE BLAST FOR TRAINING!

How?

1 death rune costs 250gp-300gp.

1 mind rune costs 10-25gp.

The max hit with fire blast is 16. Therefore the exp for this is 16 x 4=64.

The max hit with earth strike is 7. Therefore the exp for this is 7 x 4-28.

With the 300gp you use to buy 1 death rune you can buy 15 mind runes for 20gp each.

So now it is still 7 x 4=28 but now you have to multiply that by 15 because you have 15 mind runes. 15 x 28=420.

So in the end would you rather get 64 exp or 420 exp?

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

joes, I will say the same thing as i said on the other thread.

1. Magic spells don't give 4 xp per damage. They give a base exp, + damage*2

2. You are forgetting the (second) most important commodity in runescape, time. Training with death is 4 times faster than with minds, meaning more dragons killed, and probably more profit.

you could always telegrab

I don't always think of that. #-o ... Although, being I am F2P, I have to look at Law Rune Costs. :( ...

(Since these quotes feel aimed at me in some odd way, I'm replying to it too.)

Even further, Joes_So_Cool and mchainmail, I assume with my strategies (even though I do not make it a paramount rule) that most people are going to put work into their RC skill and make most of their runes in the first place. Also, if they are F2P, they will buy the Laws, Chaos, Natures, Deaths, and Cosmics that they will need to do their in-game operations.

I also assume that they are trying for speed in their kills, which will save them time in the long run. Fire Attacks like "Fire Strike", "Fire Bolt", and "Fire Blast" are all the most effective, especially when used within the definitions of my strategies.

Just thought I'd note this. :P
