sonicoscar
Ok ok... so I was thinking that on runescape they could have a couple of new picks... not dragon although they should but I've got different ideas First idea is: Aqua Pickaxe (axe aqueous) LVLS: 50 mining, 50 crafting Same as an addy pick, but when mining clay it automatically becomes soft clay, I reckon it could work. Second idea: Pyro Pickaxe (pick molten) LVLS: 50 mining, 40 crafting, 50 smithing Same as and addy pick, but only has a 25% chance of mining ore, if it succeeds, the ore is automatically converted to a bar, this only works with single ore required ores, Gold, Silver, bluerite and iron. [hide=Your problem, mine problem (the minigame)]Smorlorf the dwarf has some trouble he needs help with! Oh nos! Talk to Smorlorf in Keldagrim to help him with his problem. Minigame: Your problem, mine problem NPC: Smorlof There's is an easy option and a hard option Smorlorf will tell you that he needs some ores for his mining shop! But needs them fast for some orders. You'll have a time limit to mine him certain ores, never rune, clay, gem, granite, sandstone, essence, limestone or elemental. You get free cart passage in and out of Keldagrim temporarily. On easy you must mine him ores that are coal or lower (not bluerite), and he doesn't need much. (never more than 15). Time limit is roughly 15 mins. When you bring them back to him you earn DP (dwarf points) depending on time left, type of ore etc. On hard it can be any ore (except the afore-mentioned never ores), the hardest is probably bluerite. It's always more than 18 ores (up to 25). Time limit is 20 mins (25 mins for bluerite and bluerite is 15 ores. DP values 2 mins left: 5dp 5 mins left: 10dp 10 mins left: 15dp 15 mins left: 20dp 18 mins left: 25dp Copper: 2dp Tin: 2dp Iron: 5dp Silver:8dp Coal: 10dp Gold: 12dp Mith: 15dp Addy: 20dp Bluerite: 20dp You may trade in dp for rewards from Smorlorf Copper ore: 4dp Tin ore: 4dp Iron ore: 10dp Silver ore: 16dp Coal ore: 20dp Gold ore: 24dp Mithril ore: 30dp Addy ore: 40dp Bluerite ore: 20dp Bronze pick: 50dp Iron pick: 100dp Steel pick: 150dp Mith pick: 300dp Addy pick: 500dp Rune pick: 1,000dp Bluerite pick: 200dp (new Smile inbetween Steel and Mith lvl 11 to use) Aqua pick: 10,000dp (the ancient picks quest required) Pyro pick: 10,000dp (the ancient picks quest required) Ore sack: 1,000dp (holds 2 ores) Dwarf gloves: 2,000dp (makes your mining better) Dwarf boots: 2,000dp (In Keldagrim + any mine your energy decreases slower) I added some more Smorlorf only items to make his mini-game have better rewards. Very Happy That was long-winded. Oh yeah and you need a mining of 30 to play. All of the Smorlorf exclusive items are non-tradeable. You may only have one of the special picks at a time. If you destroy one by accident, Smorlorf will say he found one with your name engraved on it and return it to you.[/hide] [hide=The Ancient Picks (The quest)]The ancient picks-Quest requirements: 35 thieving 30 attack 30 strength 30 defence 40 smithing 40 mining You talk to Smorlorf, he tells you that he needs you to help him make some special deliveries to some special Dwarven lords. He tells you that the first dwarf is in a small house just north of the tree gnome stronghold. You must mine Smorlorf 12 coal and 2 adamant ores and 2 elemental ores, he will use his master smithing levels to create two ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâelemental adamant bars̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. You must then take them to Tungden, the hermit that lives in the house. Tungden will combine the bars to make it ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâpure̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ and tell you to smelt it into the shape of pickaxe head whilst adding in a cut diamond and 5 soft clay. You must make your way through the dungeon to the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâocean furnace̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢, it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s is amazingly cold. If you place them in you will get a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâaqua pick head̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢, take it back to Tungden and he will say he needs 5 magic logs to complete the handle. Once you have done that you will receive the legendary ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâaxe aqueous̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢, it turns out Tungden was make a lord for being the master of the ocean forging clan, all long dead except for Tungden. Take it back to Smorlorf and he will praise you and ask you to deliver 12 coal and 2 adamant ores and 2 elemental ores (again), he̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll make the bars and you must deliver them to Flamush the Dwarf lord that lives by the Bandit Camp in the Kharidian desert. Flamush will refuse to let you into his house because he is angry. Asking him why will make him tell you that this is because King Roald stole his 'Olde Hammer' which was given to him by the 2nd great dwarven king. He tells you to leave. Upon hearing this you deduce that he will let you in if you get it back for him. To get it back you must infiltrate the Varrock palace by joining the palace guard and becoming close to Roald until you have the opportunity to steal it back (this requires a thieving of 35). There are 5 parts to this section. You need a guard look (like in black knights fortress) and lvl 30 attack, strangth and defence. 1. Proving yourself to the head guard, where you must slay a particulary nasty dragon that has been causing them some trouble. 2. You must then do your first night watch, in which you foil some disputes and even a robbery by the black arms gang!(of the museum) 3. You must help the king out and find him some special roses that grow only on white wolf mountain for the queens birthday, this gets you in his good books. 4. The king will then ask you to to transport a 'mysterious rune' to a place just east of Canifis, this will require a normal journey, but there will be a lot of 'thugs lvl60' encounters for you, including an ambush and a road block at the gate east of the sawmill. 5. You will then be asked to stand guard at the kings chambers, where you will have to steal the hammer while the other guards are distracted (either you have to find ways of distarcting them or random stuff happens that distarcts them, not sure which). Take it to Flamush. He will combine them again, and, again, you must make your way through a dungeon, this time with a silver bar, an iron bar, a bluerite bar, a gold bar and a cut diamond to the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâinferno furnace̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. You will create a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâpyro pick head̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ if you do this, give him 5 magic logs to create the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâpick molten̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢. Flamush was a lord because him and the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâinferno clan̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ guarded the secrets of the eternal flames, deep beneath the desert. He explains that both picks must never be used t the same time, or risk the anger of the gods unleashed upon you. Smorlorf will congratulate you on your arrival and you will be rewarded REWARDS: 30,000mining xp 30,000smithing xp 2,000dp The ability to buy the axe aqueous and pick molten from Smorlorf in exchange for 10,000dp. The ability to smelt aqueous armour and molten armour.[/hide] SUPPORTERS: 1) Sonicoscar 2) Abyssalwhip 3) justj2 4) ThruItAll 5) Maleficus1055 6) boris5000 7) penguingeek3 8) Gyroman26 9) ickdeep 10) aquariusman 11) Gehackte 12) icecold638 13) blosssom2581 14) arrowbld 15) \n_odie \ <<<<<< 16) Natasa777 17) flava0falcon 18) nacfan 19) hal020owns 20) dragontotem 21) Albel_8492ed 22) Blipi2 23) Gazzy 24) pierre_rn 25) dave0293 26) Zzzuperman 27) Peterpan538 omg lots o support \ Barrows, crystal and obby pickaxe ideas can be found here! aquariusman
Very good (Support) With the mini-game suggested, all of your ores in your inventory when you start should be held with Smorlof until the minigame is over, and any ores on the ground/ in your bank will disappear until the minigame is over. This will keep players from cheating. Also, there should be limits to how many ores you have to mine for a specific ore, based on the average respawn rate. So say you have 18 minutes and you have to collect x amount of an ore with a 60 second respawn rate. You should only have to collect 9-14 of that ore to account for competition and travel time. Maybe even you get a bonus of DP for extra ores? I can also see another direction a mining-based minigame like this could take, which is very similar. You are given a time limit to mine as many ores as you possibly can and return them to an NPC. If you return any ores before the time limit runs out, you are given a time bonus. The time bonus should be such that if you are skilled and/or lucky, you can keep on with the minigame for quite a while. Points would be accumulated based on: A) How long you were able to play for over the original time, B) The median of how many ores you were able to collect per trip (Back to the NPC) and C) How much extra time was leftover when you decided to end the minigame. This would be very good for high-level miners or those who can plan very well (They would create very efficient cycles to keep themselves playing the minigame). There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. drapit
Maybe you'll have to dip a pickaxe into some sorta enchanted well to make it aqueous. The enchanted well may well be part of some HIGH level quests. This "pyro" axe can be made by using a bronze pick with some HOLY flames. As usual, it can be part of some quests. Players can only have one of each at ANY moment, whether in bank, or in invent. Also, i'd rather they be names "axe aqueous" and "pick molten"
sonicoscar
I like the names drapit, and the 'only one at any time' idea is cool, makes it fairer. The quest idea sounds pretty good but I did like the mini-game idea. Maybe you have to do quest for Smorlorf before you can buy the picks, making them for him and so on. Pyrolikespie
..by the way, the "Aqua Pick" idea has already been done, kind of. It's a Sapphire Bracelet, if you enchant it, it becomes a "Bracelet of Clay" which turns all clay that you mine while wielding it soft clay automatically. I'm pretty sure there's a limit to the number of clay you can mine but it's already been done. Aside from that, I really like the idea. I also suggest some sort of pick that finds gems more often, as the only thing I've heard of that does that is Glory Ammy. Maybe a bejeweled and then enchanted pick? Officially retired on 12/10/07, no drop parties because that might be "covertly trading wealth". What does one person's happiness(until they quit) mean compared to the hours I wasted while runecrafting, anyways?
