Constructions advantage for RuneCrafting.

I haven't found a post with this information on it so I thought I would write up a little post about it for everyone to see.

 

 

 

I stumbled upon a nice little advantage for RuneCrafting. I was building my garden (destroyed all buildings, my entire area was nothing but normal gardens - looked nice imo), while browsing the RS Knowledge Base for Construction. I noticed a nice little feature in the quest hall.

 

 

 

Decided to try and work up the construction level for it, and see how it worked. Much to my suprise it has worked out far better than I expected. Now for the explanation - though I'm sure some people have figured it out or know about it, I think it might be nice for those people who don't know about it.

 

 

 

You will need;

 

47 Construction

 

40 Magic

 

Runecrafting bags

 

House teleports

 

Uncharged Amulet of Glory

 

3 Teak Planks

 

 

 

 

 

1) First you need to get 47 construction, and after you have that build a quest hall. Make sure that you place the quest hall as close to the portal as you can, as the closer it is the faster things go.

 

 

 

2) Once the quest hall is built, get your uncharged Amulet of Glory - must be uncharged - and the three Teak Planks. Go into your quest hall in building mode, and make a Amulet of Glory Trophy. This gives you unlimited glory teleports in your house.

 

 

 

3) Use it to teleport to edge, bank all your construction items and any other item you don't need for RuneCrafting. Withdraw the appropriate items for RuneCrafting (Bags, ess, any items you use to get through the abyss etc etc). Make sure to grab at least one set of House Teleports (lvl 40 magic).

 

 

 

4) Run into the abyss, get through the little "maze" and run to the appropriate alter of the runes you wish to craft. Go inside and runecraft all your ess (including ess in the bags).

 

 

 

5) Once all that is done, use House Teleport to goto your house. Once inside run to the Amulet of Glory trophy and use it to teleport back to edge. Back at edge, repeat back to step 3).

 

 

 

 

 

Thats about it. I find it very effective, you only lose three runes per trip - but you also eliminate the chance of losing charged glory amulets to pkers. If you do happen to die, all they get is a few ess and some tele runes. (Basicly making the reason of RC Pking obsolete, since they won't even get the free easy money of a glory now.).

 

It is also almost just as fast as doing it "normal" way (as in teleporting using a glory amulet). Just much safer, and cheaper.

 

 

 

I know some people will have known about this or figured it out themselves, but this post was mostly for the people who like to RC but haven't found out about this yet.

Bad points:

Tips:

It is a good idea, however I find that the time I would lose using that method, including the loss of extra slots I can offset against the cost of buying a glory.

 

 

 

As well as this Glory recharges are free, where as tele runes are not.

but how can they get your glory? doesn't it protect over rune ess?

 

 

 

EDIT - just realised that you'll probably be wearing armour to protect from the abyss monsters. Is that right?

I have to get practically naked when I'm cooking bacon.

Here is a point you missed, make house tele tablets, dont use runes, +2 ess per trip. Also put your chapel and alter next to your entry and recharge prayer each trip, if you are attacked, just pray an dyou most likely won't die.

You only get one chance to live your life....

But, endless opportunities to screw it up.

Says who? You?

 

 

 

...Tele runes are free if you do your own mining. Obviously its time spent gathering extra runes for power training, but its time well spent (especially since its free runes and free RC exp).

 

 

 

EDIT: And for the tablets you only need to get two runes... that is if you can use a elemental staff to make these tablets. So craft Laws and Airs and use a earth staff. Why craft Airs? Because you can make more per essence.

It's a good idea, I thouht of it when I read the KB on con's release but promptly forgot it overnight. If I ever do construction , I will use this method for sure, at the moment I still use ancients teleport, which actually makes you use more run energy than you would think getting from tele spot to the bank, so this method should save there, plus an extra inventory spot. :D

wow good idea, i hadnt thought of that, even though i have mounted a glory ammy, just used it to save to spaces when training construction, thanks for the idea

Nice idea...but those of us with 82/84? magic have been able to do this a long time. Paddewwa teleport with ancient magicks will teleport you just a little south of edgeville, so that's always worked pretty well for me...

Even with that edit you are still wrong, the moment you enter the abyss, you get auto-skulled.

 

 

 

On-Topic: I thought of this the moment I found out about tele-tablets + infinite glory teleports. Great idea still and the prayer recharge just tops it!

i dunno about you guys, but that loading house screen takes a long time...maybe its my dial up...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ill stick to glory to edge, or just not runecrafting. that skill, is like a blessing in disquise(sp?) of a kick to the crotch. might not be that bad if they doubled the exp for makin runes

I knew about house tablets, didn't mention though since I haven't personally used and don't have required stuff to make them atm.

 

Aussy brought up some good points with them though.

 

 

 

I personaly just like this method over glorying because;

 

1) I'm a cheapskate. I don't like losing glorys :lol:

 

2) I dislike recharging, i'm lazy like that.

 

 

 

I prefer it over ancients because;

 

1) I use normal magic way to much to keep changing back and fourth.

 

2) I don't like wasting so much energy. In the long run I get more runecrafting done via this way or glorying because I have much more energy.

 

 

 

 

 

Some other points that have been mentioned are;

 

Use a elemental staff to save one more space. Could craft your own runes if you don't want to buy or have an abundance of them.

 

 

 

Just use whatever method you personally prefer :)

I guess Jagex had to give us something in return for that pure essence update... I still haven't forgiven them :( .

you havent done abbyss crafting have you?

 

hte abbyss zaps your preyer down to 0 and skulls you at the same time thus there is no protecting it unless your going to carry a prey pot with you the entire time to sip and turn on item protect right before you die

 

 

 

its a good idea i thought about it myself too; also what some of the others havent realized, Ancient magic requires the completion of the Deasert treasure quest and higher magic lvl to cast

 

and yes home tele tablets only take up 1 slot, and that lose of 1 rune per run out weighs the possiblity of loseing an ammy and the fact that eventaully your going to have to recharge them

you can just use a ring of duleing. do abys trip as normal. take of ring and then tp to CW's. get glory out and tp to edge.

 

 

 

adds about 15seconds a trip.
