3 ways for fast nat crafting without abyss! *now with times*

Ok, i was following the advice of most crafters and using the abyss to make these, but i was using a lot of runes in telles and i kept losing my pouches. I thought, god there must be another way, and then a friend pm'ed me bragging about how good the fairy rings were for getting around. I looked on tip.it's fine fairy ring map ( ) and noticed there was one fairly close to the altar.

By Jove! i thought, i must try this out so i made a nat tiara and headed on down, and i have found it much more enjoyable than the abyss.

Requirements

Ok, you need to have done Fairytale Part I - Growing pains, because you then need to have STARTED part II. my farming and herblore starts are miles off the required for part II's finishing but i could start it and thats all that matters. Get as far into the quest so that you can use the fairy rings.

Dramen Staff

A nature tallisman or tiara.

Pure ess.

And then we're good to go.

What i carry and wear

natcraftinggearfs4.png

I included the boots of lightness as i can run for longer. Also, in ur inventory, carry as many ess as you can, in as many pouches as you can. I just couldn't get a medium pouch :(

Where to go

Ok here is my route, ill try to number it and draw it etc.

natcraftingroutecl8.png

Number 1 is the bank.

Number 2 is the chief fairy ring. Here i put in the code CKR (two turns for each wheel)

Number 3 is the nat altar fairy ring. Just clicking Use on it will bring you back to number 2.

Number 4 is the altar itself.

The yellow lines indicates the route i take, there and back. I feel it is the most direct route of them all ::'

A small tip

Getting to the nat altar fairy ring (number 3) on the way back can sometimes be a pain, and so, try this...

natcraftingtipmv3.png

as you round that final corner near the gemstone rocks, through the trees look out for the ring and click use, and let ur character guide you round the small maze of trees surrounding the fairy ring.

Method 2 - The castle Wars method ( inspired by vlad_the_old)

Requirements

Ok, you need to have done Fairytale Part I - Growing pains, because you then need to have STARTED part II. my farming and herblore starts are miles off the required for part II's finishing but i could start it and thats all that matters. And then we're good to go.

What i carry and wear

natcraftingcwinvcs5.png

The ring of dueling is the most important thing here. It is the premise for the whole method. Also, carry as much ess as you can (found the medium pouch!!! \' ) and be able to run for a long time.

Where to go

Ok here is the route, ill try to number it and draw it etc.

natcraftingcwroutecv5.png

Number 1 is the castle wars bank.

Number 2 is the Castle Wars fairy ring. Using it will take you to the main fairy ring in zanaris, but you DONT have to leave it. Just click on it again, and then enter the code CKR (two spins of each wheel) to get to....

Number 3 is the Nature Altar fairy ring.

Number 4 is the nature altar.

And again, the yellow line is my route. After crafting ur natures, you simply right click your ring of dueling, select operate and telle back to the castle wars bank in step one and start again \'

A small tip

Be careful when telleing to castle wars! You don't want to end up going to the duel arena as it will waste 2 uses of the ring. Look carefully when selecting where to want to telle to.

Method 3 - The non-abyss edgeville method! (inspired by zou_lou)

Requirements

Ok, you need to have done Fairytale Part I - Growing pains, because you then need to have STARTED part II. my farming and herblore starts are miles off the required for part II's finishing but i could start it and thats all that matters. And then we're good to go.

What i carry and wear

natcraftingedgevilleinvuq2.png

The glory is the most important thing here. It is the premise for the whole method. Also, carry as much ess as you can (found the medium pouch!!! \' ) and be able to run for a long time.

Where to go

natcraftingedgevillerouiw8.png

Number 1 is the edgeville telle point and bank.

Number 2 is the edgeville fairy ring.

After crafting ur natures, you simply right click your amulet of glory, select operate and telle back to the edgeville bank in step one and start again \'

A small tip

Two things here. When crossing the bridge inbetween step 1 and 2, be careful not to stray into the wildy. Some pkers stand here and wait for abyss rcers looking for the safer route.

Also, be careful where telleing to with the glory as you may well end up in draynor or karamja instead of edgeville. :ohnoes:

Finishing off

I would like to thank tip.it and the runescape world map for providing me with the pictures i used in the guide, and also the two tipiters (vald_the_old and zou_lou) for their ideas on the other two methods. I also thank anyone who leaves constructive criticism or praise as this is my first guide \'

A well-written guide, recommended by Crewbie vlad_the_old as well.

Comparing times for a series of runs using each safe method would be good info.

Not sure if this needs to be in the AOW, but it's a very good player guide and will definitely help people. We'll be keeping an eye on this one. ;)

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

woo thanks pokemama and those who recommended :3>

as for timings, well ill just have to get me some glories ::'

also, to answer the question asked by mysteriousman16, after testing the 2nd method today, i have found that the 2nd one is a bit faster than the 1st one, but id rather keep my rings of dueling so used the 1st one more.

Ill borrow a load of glories off a friend soon and and actually time all 3 methods, then post em up.

Thanks for the credits pompey_spud, I really do appreciate! :D

I believe the method I have suggested (number 3) is the fastest because the route is shorter, but I did not time vlad_the_old's method (number 2).

Here are three small additional tips for method 3 (non-abyss edgeville method) :

1) If your agility is not very high, you may find useful to keep one (super) energy pot in your inventory so you can keep running at all time. You may loose one rune per trip, but on the long run it worth it. If your agility is high enough, just keep an eye on your energy level and take a sip or two of energy potion when needed while you are banking. \:D/

2) Just in case you would run out of glory charges or tele to the wrong place make sure to wield a ring of dueling. To be able to bank in Castle War and to grab a glory to tele back to Edgy will spare you the trouble to have to run back to the fairy ring from the nature altar (it will also save you a great deal of energy). :-w ;)

3) Keep your charged glories, rune essence and (super) energy potions next to each others, preferably on the last row of your bank, far away from your uncharged glories, it will save you a little time and this way you won't grab one uncharged glory by mistake. ;)

Here are a few tips on how to repair your pouches at very little risk :

As soon as one of your pouches get damaged leave all your items in the bank including your pouches. You do not need to take them with you for the Mage in the center of the abyss to repair them! :P 8-)

Grab your best dragon hide top and bottom (no vambrace needed), and a woodcutting axe. (3/4 iteming for the win. A little food, one-click teleport, and a tinderbox can be helpul but are optionnal).

Run to the teleport mage while praying mage protect (the bridge route is the safest) and use your wc axe/tinderbox or thieving/agility skills to get to the center of the abyss. Get your pouche(s) fixed and tele to lumbridge (no runes needed).

Recharge your prayer in lumby and run to the canoe station to get back to Edgy and to go back to nat crafting. 8-)

One last tip on how to get your pouches :

Wear a ring of wealth, your best armour, your best weapon and some little food and go kill leeches in the fairy ring abyssal plan (code is ALR). You won't be able to runecraft here, but you won't be pked on the way! :D

Good luck on getting your guide to the AOW! :)

I have used all 3 methods and for me quickest seemed to be the glories, followed by rings of dueling and then just running using the bank at zanaris.

The method I used for the last 3 RC lvls I got was the glories - so you can tell which I prefer!

Abyss is still actually quite a lot faster.

but good guide!

ive been doing the ring of dueling way today and i think its very close to the speed of the abyss, only thing that slows you down slightly is enterting the codes into the fairy rings :x

I did a lot of nat running using the fairy ring and glory method. I was surprised to see that I was as fast as some other runners using the abyss.

  • 4 weeks later...

I've grown adept at the abyssal route and even ignore barrages sometimes :P (Instead of teleing). The only danger is teleblock followed by a *RAPID* successful 15second stop, and me messing up massively somehow. It's unlikely, yet, nevertheless it did take a few deaths to get it down ::'

So, basically, i like your guide for providing alternative methods :)

FYI, i get abyss runs in 1:32 but that was one slow-ish run and I didnt think to time myself for more then one. I usually abyys while doing somehting else so i've yet made a serious study.

Edit:^ Agreed with above post. But perhaps, better, would be "Fast SAFE Fairy Ring Runecrafting" Since you're sort of still getting fast speeds and safeness.

Nice guide, after trying all three ways (before I read this guide, and thanks to Vlad the Old =D> ) I found the glory way to be the fastest.

I would recommend having at least 10 glories, I'm working towards having 28 at the moment so I can recharge all 28 in one trip to Hero's.

But if you have 10, that's 40 trips, barring unexpected trips to Karamja :notalk: . I swig a energy potion at Edgeville bank every time I get back there and never stop running. So if you have small, medium and large pouches that's 43 nats per trip. :D

40 x 43 = 1720 nats before you need to recharge again!

Cool guide, might gonna use it sometimes, but I like to get pked every once i a while using the abbyss, it keeps me focused and makes it waaay less boring.

Nice guide! Its really good. And you can also make your own nats this way: Take all your ess. Noted and unnoted. And use the general store way

That is soooo slow, used to do that, couldn't make more then 2k before getting bored, just made 10k with abbys with only getting bored a very bit.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

The pouches hold essence in one slot (small pouch holds 3, medium 6 etc)

As far as method three is concerned, why not build a quest hall and put a glory in that room. It has infinate charges that way and saves some $$ :)

94 mage

106/100 combat

67/70 prayer

52 Barrow drops

249/249 QP
