The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?

Hey everyone, since all the answers ive been getting on what we should havent really been answered straight, try to do so now.

It's a manifesto of sorts from a Staff Sergeant in the fight in Afghanistan. He had an experience recently while on mid-tour leave to see his wife and baby boy that was the last straw:

Things that I am tired of in this war:

I am tired of Democrats saying they are patriotic and then insulting my commander in chief and the way he goes about his job.

I am tired of Democrats who tell me they support me, the soldier on the ground, and then tell me the best plan to win this war is with a ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åphased redeploymentÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

I like it. It's not really a partisan issue, though.

We do need to hunker down and kick some butt though. Right now nothing is being done.

its just one person. And if a soldier dosen't like the war, then why is he there? How many people in the U.S. are forced to go to war?

Err...to like a war, a soldier is a sociopath.

War is their job. And it's frustrating to be away from your family while politicians keep you there. He wants the military to control the war so that they can finish it faster and get home sooner.

Which is the goal of every soldier. To make it home alive.

I don't mean to flame you, but I'm sorry; as a right-wing soldier (which judging by his langauge he clearly is), he's bound to be alinated against the Democrats anyway...

And because it IS one soldier, the other guy's right, it doesn't paint the full picture of what soldiers think in Iraq...

i see where most of you are coming from, but still, is it too hard to believe that this is the opinion of.........lets call it half the soldiers over there, 1 half is right wing, 1 half is left wing.

and still, i dont care if your a democrat or not, if you were on the front lines and this was happening to you, i think that you wold have some of the same opinions.

I understand that, but what im saying that if you're a soldier in the battlefield, why would you be protesting against it, unless you were somehow forced to go there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is your choice to be there, and you get the advantages and honor from it.

he is there because he want to be there, he has trained 1/3 of his life to be a soldier and he wants to stay and do what he is trained to do, he is just mad because the media and others wont support the way it needs to be done, all he wants is for that to change, so we can kill more bad guys with less casualties, and get back home faster to prepare for the next conflict.

No one LOVES war NO ONE wants to be there but that is why the draft is there. We need people to defend this country, and we need more people who control what is going like this guy here. I am also sick of George Bush being beaten and tromped on like he is the only one responsible for his actions. PRESIDENT BUSH IS NOT A ****** DICTATOR! Congress, his cabinet, and all other parts of the government of America is pushing him this way and that way and he decides whats best for the country. I'm sick of people like Bill Clinton who are scumbags getting treated like they are wonderful people. What would be happening now if John Kerry had been elected? We would be having homosexual marriages right now and be going even farther down the path of imoralness(heh.. new word). Every single day I hear someone ranting about George Bush, well you know what? If everyone hates him how the **** did he get into office TWICE???

being fair is more important than being "moral". Just because YOU don't agree with gay marriage doesnt mean that others dont. The are are more important matters at hand then gay marriage. People are starving on the streets of american and bush is worried about Gay marriage?? tell me there isnt something wrong with that picture...

neither do I, but I can't stand it when people comment like he did, especially towards gay marriage. :x Isnt america and life, liberty, and hte persuite of happiness? gays are people and have hte right to persue happiness, if marriage makes them happy they have a right to it. Humans were set up to reproduce with the opposite sex, not the same sex. They are going against the VERY grain of excisitince.

The are are more important matters at hand then gay marriage. People are starving on the streets of american and bush is worried about Gay marriage?? tell me there isnt something wrong with that picture...

I don't see you going to burger king and buying a homeless person a hamburger. People are starving EVERYWHERE not just America, and once again George Bush is not a dictator, America was founded on democracy and shall die on democracy. Something is wrong with the picture when two people of the same sex are kissing and having intercourse with each other.

Just because this came from a soldier doesn't mean what he said isn't semi-stupid.

We're there to kill enemies, not build nations? Technically, we were there to build Iraq as a democracy. There were no Plane-Diving Islamists in Iraq until we showed up. We sent them into civil war.

I'll agree with some of it though, like how being all PC keeps them from killing efficiently. Like he said, it's war, not hopscotch. The objective is to kill as many people as you can before they kill you. Winner takes all, and there is no second place.
