Guide to 99 Hunter.

This guide will help you on your way to 99 hunter. This is how I got up from 17-62 in 3 days.

Table of Contents-

1. Requirements

2. Places to hunt

3. Best xp

4. On the way to 99

Requirements-

Ok, you need to start out with about 1k-30k Gp. When you have that, make your way to Yanille or Nardah,

Where you will find hunter shops.

To get to Yanille, you can either

A. Grab 2 Earth runes and 2 law runes and teleport to the Watchtower

B. Use the Charter ships to get to Port Khazard and walk south

C. Teleport to Castle Wars and walk past the ogres.

D. Teleport to Ardougne and walk south

Once in Yanille you can head the hunter shop which is right next to the Magicians Guild. I will not mention

Nardah as it is not worth it. It is simply too far of a walk. Once there, buy 15 Butterfly nets, 10 bird traps, and 10 box traps. You will

Use all of these on your way to 99 hunter. Also find about 10 small nets and 15 ropes.

Fairy Tale pt. 2: Cure a Queen

Swan Song

Watchtower Quest

50+ Construction

100-200k

Places to hunt-

Ok, at level one, you have two alternatives, which arent very good xp as they are only level 1 creatures.

1. Head to Feldip Hills which is south of Yanille. jungle_region_map.pngwaysofgettingtoyanilleil8.png

2. Head to the polar area which is all the way up by Relakka. snow_region_map.png

Once there, you can either hunt the Crimson Swifts hunter_crimsonbird.gif or Polar Kebbits. hunter_polarkebbit.gif I will go in depth with both.

Birds:

19868905fw5.png

birdtrapcn3.png Just set your trap and go to town

Polar Kebbits(Not Recommended):

Polar Kebbits are much more complicated. You have to search a hole like this:

holepolarkebbitgq8.png

trackprintskw5.png Follow these tracks.

You'll eventually get the polar kebbit.

Best xp-

From level 1 to level 9, stick with one of the previous creatures.

At level 9, head to the woodland hunter area, just south of the Picatoris Fishing Colony. Heres the map-

woodland_region_map.png

Stay there until level 30 hunter. At 9, you should hunt Copper longtails hunter_copperbird.gif until level 15.copperlongtailareagi3.png

longtailsprungks7.png

At level 15,

Stay in the area where the Copper Longtails are, but go with your butterfly net and jars and hunt Ruby Harvests hunter_rubyharvest.gif For some extra xp, setup your bird trap and wait for them to land, but keep catching the Butterflies. Release them when all your jars are full.

At 30 the xp starts flowing. Make your way down to Canifis. Go to the hunter spot southwest of the bank. swamp_region_map.png Once here, Click on the flimsy looking trees and clickSet trap

Young Tree Eventually you will catch a green lizard. hunt_swamp_lizard.gif At your level you should be able to set 2 traps. Stay here until 45, using more traps as needed. youngtreepc7.png

sprunglizardqa4.png

Once you get 45, head over to the Woodland hunter area again, but this time head to the falconry pit. falconryyi8.png

Talk to Matthias and he will give you a falcon for 500 gp. You can keep the falcon inside the pit only. Go north.

You will see Spotted Kebbits.hunt_spotted_kebbit.gif Click Catch Spotted Kebbit And the falcon will attempt to catch it. catchspottedkebbitscb3.png

Then just retrieve your falcon: falconryretrievedx3.png

Stay there until 53. Once 53 some good xp keeps coming. Take your box traps and head over to the Copper

Longtails, but catch Chinchompas.hunt_chinchompas.gif

greychinfx9.png

caughtgreychinyp9.png

These are good until 59.

At 59 you should hunt red Salamandershunt_red_salamander.gif at the Shrine of Scorpius, the chaos alter north of Castle Wars.

Stay here until 63. At 63 you have smooth xp.

Once you hit level 63, the Exp flows in. Be sure to pick up yourself a set of Larupia armor. This helps your camouflage.

Hunt here:

spotsuz4.png

Set of four box traps and the red chinchompas, or Carnivorous Chinchompas hunt_redchinchompas.gif

Will be attracted to the trap. Just like the other chinchompas, they stack so you can keep them. trapcm7.png

Method of trapping

First, I'll start with a bad way of doing it.

badwaysl7.png This leaves you little room, which allows for slow exp due to the 1-2 chinchompa spawns.

Good Method:

trapsia7.png

See how this worked for me?:sprungyd6.png

Stay here until 99. At 99 you wouldve caught about 48,000 Red chinchompas. You can either use them

For range xp or sell them at 700 each for a whopping 35M. This shall take around three weeks playing 6 hours a day from 1-99.

But does it really only take 2 weeks. I think not

It's highly possible. If a person can get it in four days, reaching 99 in two weeks is more than easy for the dedicated hunters/skillers.

Anyway - to add a little to the guide - include transportation methods to get to that location faster (fairyrings, gnome glider, etc).

Written by someone who can't even catch red chinchompa's themself (62 hunter).

Good guide anyway, too bad the pics aren't working. And don't say that just to get a few bumps.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

All skills 80+

I think your are right with cathing red chinchompas till 99 hunter, but somehow it doesnt feel good when a guide just says: "catch 48 chinchompas and your done"

EDIT:

red chinchompas are about 300-400 ea, not 700 ea.

Check out the RSOF, 750 ea seems even more resonable then 700 ea. I know that the RSOF are far from perfect, but I think they are pretty accuraten when you look at a topic or 10

You guys are so pessimistic. It's a really good guide, and sounds like whoever wrote it had at least some experience in hunting (yes, I plan on lvling mine in the next couple weeks). Transportation methods would be nice, and perhaps an alternate lvling spot. But everything else that wasn't covered in the guide is already on the main website.

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

AMEN!

2 weeks huh? lets try some math:

i tried today to catch some red chinchumpas and i caught about 130 of them in an hour. so, at 265xp per you are getting 34,450xp an hour.

xp at lvl 63: 368,599

xp at lvl 99: 13,034,431

minus them out and you'll need 12,665,832xp from 63 to 99.

divide that by 34,450xp an hour and i came out with 15days and 8hours (rough estimate).

so, he was almost right, 2weeks if you play 24/7 catching 130 an hour....

You cant get in two weeks, seriously...

At 80 I was catching about 250 an hour - 65kxp about

At 90 I was catching about 320 - 80k about

At lvl 98 Hunter I was catching 400 per hour - 100kxp about.

The xp at 98 hunter would still take you 120 hours, or 5 an a half days non stop at all. I find it unlikey that its really possible...

It too me 3 1\2 weeks, about 6 hours a day

And I'm sad now cause I sold 5k for 400 each :( Its a real toss-up whether to get range up or the 30M for rest of them lol.
