  1. No cards currently use the extra bandwidth of the PCI-E slot, except for maybe the GeForce 6200 w/ Turbocache. These budget cards have less memory on the card than the ones without turbocache, instead using your system's main memory (much as integrated graphics do). I believe I read that this constant transfer of data from the card to your RAM takes advantage of the extra bandwidth, I'm not sure though. That is a moot point though, because you shouldn't even consider buying a 6200/X300. Two effective benifits of PCI-E are upgradability, and power transfer. As already stated, getting a PCI-E mobo will make sure that you will be able to upgrade, a long time from now. Also, PCI-E slots have the ability to transfer more power to cards than AGP. My PCI-E 6600GT requires no extra input from the Power Supply, while the AGP model does.
  2. That puzzle took me a half a minute to figure out. It is impossible, due to the example having the two outside cups facing down and the middle up, and you having the opposite to begin with. Simple, not so hard.
  3. If you like it so much, we could give you a fancy avatar to match  Please don't make threads about how your sig was removed, either accept the reason you were given or pm a mod if you have any queries. Locked.
  4. My computer died in December, so after three months it was hard to get into PS again, especially with all my files gone. This was actually a 600x800 image I was making, but was tired, so decided to rotate 90 degrees and scale down. I still plan to improve the sig & picture, as they are a bit dark. I give you the horizontal tree: Also, here is something I made a long time ago, but couldn't get under the limits. I may try again sometime:
  5. Do not get that video card (FX 5200). Not only is it from the last generation of GeForce cards, but it is at the BOTTOM of the last generation. For just over $100 more you could get a 6600GT (like http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 089&depa=1 for example). It is considered by many the best bang for your buck. I myself have a Leadtek one, that I just bought, so I really haven't used it enough to give a solid opinion. I have had no problems with any games I've tried on max settings & resolutions though :P There are some games that the FX 5200 would struggle with on low settings. If you got a motherboard with a PCI-Express 16x slot instead of AGP (two different types of slots that all modern video cards connect to), you would save about $15 on the video card, because they are cheaper in their PCI-E versions. You would also guarantee upgradability in the future, as PCI-Express is slowly phasing out AGP.
  6. You should have replied to my PM instead of making another topic. This thread has gone way off topic, anyway. Locked.
  7. It's a paintbrush and a computer mouse.
  8. By custom I meant, you supply your own 260x200 picture and I put it on the bottom screen. I didn't plan to, but it seems since a bunch of people asked I will fit whatever text you want on, as long as its short enough (on the screen, somewhere else if you also want link/mario in the screen). To the person who asked for a ranging link.. I'm sorry, I only have the one link, and one mario.. 13 different colour templates in one file already chews my 64mb RAM so much that photoshop is barely functional, I can't have a big library of images, sorry :( I will make you the sig with the cel-shaded link for now, if you don't like it you can get a new one. And finaly, the reason why I'm posting two days later, with still no sigs done :P I have been reaaally busy with school the past two days, and will be tommorow, so I will work on and complete all the sigs that have currently been requested here or in PM by Saturday.
  9. You can find most information about it here: http://ds.ign.com/ Just read up on some of those articles. As you will notice, it is the Nintendo DS, not the Gameboy DS. The true successor to the GameBoy Advance won't be out for a few years. The DS however, is scheduled to be released in late November this year for $150-200 US (The release date & price have not been confirmed). Just some quick facts to get you started: -It has two screens (DS = Dual Screen) -The bottom screen is a touch-screen, some games & applications have you use a stylus on the screen, like someone with a palm pilot would. -It is backwards compatible with the GameBoy Advance -It's graphic cabalities lie somewhere between the n64 and the dreamcast. -It has built in WiFi & Nintendo Proprietary LAN, so you will be able to play people wirelessly within a short distance, or connect to a WiFi "hotspot" and play anyone around the globe. One last note to the people requesting sigs, I'm going to bed now, and have school tommorow, so it could be a good 20 hours before I get them to you. EDIT: And yes Banana, they are free :P
  10. Thats right, ladies and gents. I spent the last three days playing around with this recently released picture of the DS, and decided to make some free sigs to help advertise my lov- uh, this wonderful machine :P You will have your choice of themes: A. Blank theme on an Indigo DS: B. Mario theme on a Cobalt DS: C. Link theme on a Flame DS: D. Custom theme on an Azure DS: (Colour has been discontinued.) NOTE: Custom images you submit must be linked in your request, be appropriate, and be exactly 260 pixels wide by 200 pixels high, if it is not your entire request will be ignored. And your choice of 13 colours: + Wyrm's Bananachu Special, available for a limited time only! So, if you want one, just PM me or post here with: 1. Your Theme (Blank, Mario, Link, or Custom) 2. Your Colour (Any of the thirteen shown above) 3. Your Custom Picture (If Applicable) And I will have it done as soon as possible. I will try to tend to this thread once per day, if it even stays afloat. Don't hesitate to get sigs made for friends who don't use these forums, whatever neccessary to spread the word. When we recieve more concrete information about the release date and price of the DS, I will create a new series of signatures. Special thanks to GreatSilverWyrm for showing me how to format images so they fit the screen, and his Bananachu Special :P Long Live Nintendo!
  11. It was never intended to be a sword blade, but whatever floats your boat :P Also, I consider Wyrm to be the best signature artist to grace these boards. Not saying all his works are superior, but he is very consistant and rarely makes things that are "not good". Or at least, rarely he shows them to us
  12. After a large order of sigs I made over a month ago, I got bored and stopped for a while. This is my first project since then, and I think it's decent. The background was a simple custom gradient + lighting effects, what do you think? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/ ... eoZei2.gif
  13. I really like number 3, the other two aren't so good though. The grass looks a lot like the fake stuff used for mini golf courses, etc.
  14. you should maybe change their proportions.. 2 pixels high, for every 3 pixels wide.
  15. The first one is the best :P Needs a border though, it would only take a minute in Paint.
  16. It's currently oversized, PS seems to like lieing to me about what the size will be when I save as a jpeg. If I win I'll get a gif under 30,000 bytes up. EDIT: rofl.. I forgot to post the sig. Here it is:
  17. Animations are always slower when viewed in image ready. Thats why you should preview it in explorer by clicking on the blue logo/button.

    Ghosts...

Well, the closest thing to a ghost I've seen was when a roll of film in my mom's camera was used twice, so pictures overlapped each other. The solid picture was of my one year old niece sleeping on the floor, and the second picture apeared as a translucent hand lifting my translucent niece out of her opaque body  It looks cool. But for real, no, I don't believe ghosts exist.
  19. I am selling only the signatures already listed below. Leave a post with what sig # you want, and what you want on it. Animated signatures can have only a name, static (not animated) can have a name and two stats, or a name if a quote if you so desire. No limit to the number you may purchase. I will host the sig free, also. Cost Animated: 30,000 gp in RS Classic or 45k in RS2. Static: 20,000 gp in RS Classic or 30k in RS2. Animated Signatures #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 Static Signatures #7 #8 #9 #10 #11 #12
  20. I like the one your using now better, the moon and cloud in the new one look dull, not enough colour contrast in the whole sig.
  21. I probably listen to music the least of any forum user, but from the songs I've heard I like linken park the best.
  22. Also, the top planet has a hole in it, you can see the stars behind
  23. Layer Styles :D When I first got PS all my layers were 'Normal' and I just changed the opacity on them, but now on almost every sig I fiddle around with the styles, my most common used ones are Screen, Overlay, Soft Light, Difference, and Colour. Using layer masks is also neat, you can make an image fade into another image or the background etc.
