  1. What makes you think kids haven't been having sex as far back as 10 or 11 since well before you were in school? I know at least blow jobs were happening when I was elementary, and sex was definitely on the table in junior high (12-14 roughly). Now, it's not all the kids. It's not even most of them, but it happens. It's not going to roll back any further than it already has because of the biological clock. Think about let's say grade 3. This would be a time when the boys think girls have cooties and the girls think boys are gross and stupid. Sure, the hormones do start a bit after that, which is why you are going to see a few early bloomers right around 10-11, and your going to see a few more at 12, but things don't seem to get going for most people until at least 13-14 (girls) or 14-15 (guys), and even by the end of high school you probably have a lot more virgins than you think. I figure it's been that way for as long as people could get away with it, and it will be that way for as long as people can continue to get away with it, and it hasn't ended the world yet. It just, to me, emphasis the need for education before puberty hits (around here, it starts in grade 4 which is ~ 9 years old, which seems about right).

Looks like a really neat idea 999. Minecraft with a RuneScapy feel, and it would be nice to have such a mod that is quite comprehensive. Any plans to add things like a magic and runecrafting skill, maybe making your own alters to make runes for spell casting, and a way to research better spells and wands to cast them (thinking a bit of thaumcraft right now).
  3. If this only lets the first level of support, I'll not lose any sleep over it. They'll be charging people enough that I'll not worry about whatever resources they send that way. Pretty much the same for the second level. I hope it's from just before the GWD was added, because honestly, I kind of want to see the complaining people will make about it being missing by like a week (added Aug 28, 2007). It will cheep to maintain, so if it actually turns out to be popular then swell, they're subsidizing the game I play ($5 is what I pay for the main game). It's actually kind of neat to see Jagex offering this. I think they are really curious about how much support their actually is. Interested enough that they seem to have already done up their estimates about what proportion of people will actually pay for this, and for how long. Gotta admit, I'd kind of like to see the numbers myself, and I want to see how many people will put their money where their mouth is. I'll never return to pre GE though. I can't stand the thought of bank standing to sell my stuff again.
  4. That's one of my favourites. I think Live and Let Die is one of my favorites, as is The Spy Who Loved me. I think Live is also the one with the car chase where bond is driving with Sherif J. W (it has to be that or Golden gun, being the only two he is in), and the second has the submarine Lotus Esprit, by far the coolest of the trio. I also really like Tomorrow Never dies.

All roads get plowed here sooner or later (priority based on usage), except roads not owned by the province (private roads must pay for their own plowing).
  6. Okay, yes, I can see someone attacking me to steal my armour and sweet ride. That comes with the territory. But I don't expect it to be a single mugger with a puny knife. The assassins get a bit better credit, since this is what they do, though they would have more luck taking me down with stealth rather than engaging me in head to head combat, since I am at least as powerful as a dragon priest. No, the only people who should really be taking a swing at me are bands of people on par with the companions, or someone with some serious voodoo of their own, such as being a dragonborn, a powerful undead like a dragon priest, or maybe a daedric lord. A daedric lord would be a pretty freaking tough fight. They also can't be defeated being truly immortal. I would however like the chance to send one to the soul cairn, and see if the ideal masters couldn't hold them. Assuming they have a soul at least. Probably need something a bit more potent than a black soul stone to pull that off though. Perhaps Azuras star could manage it. Actually, assuming they have souls, that might work to kill them if you can deliver it to the masters rather than it going back to oblivion when they are destroyed. The Ideal masters consume souls, which might permanently prevent resurrection. Assuming they are powerful enough to do such a thing of course. And I've never been asked if anyone stole my sweet-role.
  7. As a technical point, it's more sociopath than psychopath. Psychopaths are violent, where sociopaths have no conscience or empathy. And I actually can't understand getting any sort of enjoyment from putting other people down. I can't make someone feel bad without feeling just as bad, or worse, myself. There is no rush, no sense of satisfaction. Just guilt and regret. It also manifests in making it very difficult for me to hold a grudge. I really have to work at it, or be driven to the point of apathy which has only ever happened once. It even effects me quite strongly online.

It's been a...fun few days. The water pooling in our sidewalk has mercifully drained before the temperature can drop back bellow freezing, so we won't have a solid inch of ice at our door step. Yay! Visited my dad today right at the end of a false fire alarm. Was kind of funny walking up to the building and suddenly realizing that there were a lot of people making their way towards the entrance. I also had my first midterm, which I think went alright, though that certainly could have been better. I've been awake much longer than I would have liked to be for a midterm day (or rather, I was awake for a very long time yesterday and got up early today). It's kind of funny though, I am a lot more tired physically than mentally. I can feel my mind, and the rest of my body, crying out for sleep, but my mind itself is not at all dead. Still, I'm pretty sure if I actually closed my eyes right now I might suddenly realize I've lost a few hours. On the up side, I am going to sleep like a baby. Speaking of sleeping, the Sims 3 is now my personal record holder for dream invasions. Most game don't make their way to my dreams immediately, if ever. I don't really mind; from what I can remember the dreams are pretty awesome, it's just really weird. I think it's just been a very long time since I was this with a new game (I played the original, but not 2). I've also has some of the music from it stuck in my head for a few hours the last few days. That's probably going to wear thin at some point.

We got more snow last night. There isnt enough space between the sidewalk and road for everything to be clear, so right now there is snow encroaching on the street and the sidewalks at the same time. The mound at the corners of our shared driveway (us and the neighbors) is about 4ft high, though it was mercifully shorter where cars are supposed to go. Got that clearned, and now I need a break. The rest of the driveway has a foot of snow, the backyard is between one and two. Good times, though this will perhaps be a little more exercise than I would like.
  10. I just encase my character in a full suit of armour, though I actually keep my helmet hotkeyed. I guess it's something of a personal RP, I will remove my helmet in the presence of those I respect, and keep it on when talking to people I do not. Also, someday someone can explain to me how full ebony, daedric, and dragon armour is not automatically intimidating, or how any mugger on the road can see me on Shadowmere, or even better, Arvak, and go "yeah, I think I can take them". What part of riding around on an undead nightmare horse in exotic armour suggests I can't fight?

I think Bonez and I are probably the newest regulars to the section, though I was once a regular of sorts several years ago as well. Got that snow storm. It's hard to say how much snow we actually got. There is a nice mound from the plowing, but nothing too special. I think they had every plow going last night though, it was pretty much an endless army of them. The front end loaders also made an appearance last night and this morning, but now it's just the bob cats working on the sidewalks. There is still light snowfall, and the roads will probably be cleared again in the evening. Looks quite nice actually.
  12. Randox replied to Leoo's topic in Off-Topic
Yeah, supposed to be a big storm tonight. Which is awesome because I finally realized our kitchen is cold because the door doesn't seal properly. The front door doesn't either, but at least there are two of them, though the second has no weather seal on it. Old houses man. But yeah, should be largely set for a few days. I have also discovered that greek salad dressing (or any feta filled oil dressing really) is apparently my ketchup. I ran out of butter when I was cooking fish (and forgot to buy it today, oh well). I normally use that as the flavoring, so I decided to use salad dressing instead. Weird? Yes. Good? Not bad at all. Tastes like greek dressing (because white fish have soooo much natural flavor). I've also used it on the string beans, and while it's not quite as good (it kind of just pool under them), it's still decent. Coincidentally, "why are you putting salad dressing on your fish?" is not something I want to answer on the spot.

True  The nice thing is though, their services are free as long as you actually pay the bill off in full and don't use it to buy anything under normally $10. It's the merchant who pays for you to be able to use the thing.

It's all about risk Kaida. They are taking more risk by loaning you money, so they want a bigger reward. Today I managed to go grocery shopping when the place was crowded (3pm? Seriously?). I discovered that the store I normally use is not large enough when it's full of people and carts, and I really don't like being there. Was a nice day for a walk though, aside from being -10C which gets a bit chilly. I am also starting to wish I had my shoe spikes with me for those icy patches.

It is worth developing a credit history if only for the specific occasions when just about everyone will need a loan. The first is buying a vehicle, and the second is buying a house. Unless you plan on having all the cash up front, you'll need a loan, and that will be the day when you discover having no credit history means that blank just get's filled in with a credit score of zero. If you get a loan at all, they will hose you with the largest interest rate they can find. You don't have to use the credit card for credit. You can front load it with money before you even use it, or at least make sure you never spend more with it than you have and ensure you always pay it off strait away. If you stay on top of it, when you finally need that loan, you'll have an established credit history in perfect standing. Even if it's 5 years of grocery bills, that's infinitely better than that car being your first ever loan.
  16. Nexus or workshop? Any mods from the workshop that get updated will automatically get puched to your computer if your still subscribed. Once you have dawnguard, and have it activated in your load order, BOSS will alert you of any mods that are known to be incompatible, or require an additional piece, and will point you to them so you can replace/download them. Still a pain, but not as bad as it could be. I assume whatever program deals with nexus mods also has an ability to update them, though not using them, I can't say for sure (my thirst for more graphical mods being totally eclipsed by my own laziness).

I want to see the list, but they disabled the link because it was generating so much traffic. Looking at the pictures, I think it's safe to assume that if no one buys all that, he could open up a museum, or maybe a museum will buy it.
  18. For Christmas, I would expect to see the number of breakups go down for November and December, and go way up come January from people who are holding off ending it until after the holiday season clears, for reasons ranging from not ruining other peoples holidays to not explaining that you just broke up to every single person in your extended family. I believe Valentines is the traditional day for women to start looking for other men, something like registrations for online dating doubling on that day.
  19. I never realized that had a name. Seriously, who feels the need to name three dots strung together? :P Everything has a name, the trick is finding it. Not all of the 450,000 some odd english words you don't know are science jibber jabber :P
  20. Mine is still made up entirely of videos I have watched from people I have subscribed too, including the subscriptions page itself (the first 4-6 will be the most recent ones, and after that can be months old). Fortunately, I was never big on suggested videos in the first place, so it hasn't really done anything to bother me.
  21. A very long story short, I would lean towards legalization for the simple reason that where prostitution has been outlawed by law, we have inadvertently created an underclass who can be abused with almost no fear of consequence. They can't go to the police without incriminating themselves, so they stay silent. It would also create the potential for some measure of regulation.
  22. In anticipation of Dragonborn coming out for PC, I thought I'd get back into this. I am now back to blissfully ignoring the main storyline in favor of dawnguard. I am quite enjoying the story, and the voice actor for Serena is superb, as is the actual dialogue itself. They've done a wonderful job humanizing her, though at the back of my mind I am still waiting for the betrayal, or maybe there really wont be one. I am also in love with the crossbow, or as I like to think of it, my "Medieval Shotgun". I like to start a fight with ranged attacks, and it's perfect for getting a shot or two off before drawing my sword, though it's really fun if I am against enemies I can one hit with it in regular combat. It's also useful for killing weaker creatures I don't want to soul trap with my sword. Not sure how I felt about being told I was still a vampire hunter at heart no matter what. I mean, I've only been hunting them for like two weeks as Skyrim would see it. I'm really more of a dragon slayer, but some people just don't get that. I've also realized I'll have to wait a few days when Dragonborn is released before I can play (if I don't wait for a sale), since I have a couple mods running I am pretty sure will break, and I would miss them dearly (a new map, and enhanced blood effects).

Halifax eh? Depends on what your looking to do really. I'm assuming your not going to do the tourist things. If you can, Halifax has a pretty spectacular night scene from the charming bars and pubs to full blown night clubs. In the winter, you might also be able to catch a hockey game at the Metro Center if you buy tickets before you arrive, something in the top of the lower bowl is fine.
  24. An interesting read, though I did know most of that. My question, or at least the intent behind it was based in my puzzlement at people who would rather turn the graphics down so low that Crysis looks like minecraft to achieve their 45 or 90 fps, than deal with a game on the very edge of being a slideshow, where I am perfectly willing to run a game hard enough that it occasionally stutters into visible range, or isn't totally smooth if I turn really fast. I think the final verdict, at least to me, was that it does make the game look nicer, but I'll probably stick with making skyrim look as pretty as possible while still maintaining the illusion of movement.
  25. Perhaps they could overhaul shops as a whole while they're at it. They're so outdated that I can't think of a witty thing to compare them to. It'd be unpopular, but I'd like to see a small fee for using the GE. It would be a cash sink, and would encourage more player interaction. Out of curiosity, why do you see the personal interation of trading as a good thing? All I can remember about it was how big a pain it was, and how many hours of potential training it sucked up. And Ginger was totally correct about the drops creating money, or more correctly, creating value. The amount of money in circulation is not nearly as important as the amount of value, as long as there is enough coin available to match value being moved at any given moment. That is, as long as the coin exists to make assets liquid, it doesn't really matter. Getting a drop worth 10m has the same effect as getting 10m in coin if you sell it. You get the coin, and they get an item they can sell for the same value and so on.
