  1. Actually, that's kind of awesome about the pin you have. Not from the event itself, but its nice to have a memento from the day at least. All the rest of us have are (mostly vague) memories in our heads.
  2. I had wondered about that, though by not doing so, you get results closer to what a normal user can expect (ideally I guess you would just wait for it to stop). This would explain why other people have been able to get both full costumes in under 400 spins though (or so I heard from someone who got them).
  3. If memory serves, I definately played RS that day, and I think I was even playing while it was happening. I would have been f2p back then though, and the news wouldn't have reached me very quickly since most of my friends were f2p as well.
  4. Guys, this is still a bit ridiculous. If your not going to contribute to the topic, then don't post on it. If you want to complain about people buying spins, then please take it to rants. We have a whole forum dedicated to complaining about things, trivial or not. Please feel free to use it. In the mean time, there are people who like to have this kind of data. There are a number of people who like to do calculations on the impact of the wheel on the game, and there are people who are thinking about buying the spins. You might not agree with paying for them, I might not agree with it, but at the end of the day, it does support the game, and people who buy spins are just as welcome here as anyone else. You do your fellow users a disservice by bashing people who give us their information. They don't have to keep track. It's a pain in the ass to keep a tally of every item you get when your getting nearly 1000 data points. There are people who use this data, and it would be appreciated if you don't discourage them from posting it by harassing them about it (aside from trying to promote a friendly atmosphere here in general). And if people feel so strongly about this thread not being here, then please find a more creative way to deal with it than complaining on the thread itself. You can report it, or petition a moderator or an admin. I can hold a great big private conversation on the topic later if people want, but this thread will not be the place to do it.
  5. My understanding is that the odds have only changed once. While the odds for items change as they move categories, I've not yet seen anything to suggest that the odds for the categories have changed, except the one time it was announced. So the common/uncommon/rare/ultra-rare should stay valid for at least a while.

I am having a perfect moment. Just sitting up here on the roof (with my playbook), soaking in the sun, the view, and browsing the forums/Web. It can't last, but damn, I need to do this more often.

Don't feel bad about mixing up months. I used to mix up July and January. I normally got January right, but winter would always make a mysterious reappearance whenever I had to fill out forms in July.
  8. We get it. This isn't the first time this has been done, and a lot of people really dislike seeing this or hearing about it. From this point on, you can either comment on the test and its results, or you can not post on this thread. This is a really stupid issue to get yourself in trouble over, and I don't want to need to remove more posts from this thread and end up handing out warnings as a result. Thank You.
  9. I really don't think this is an option. Your body has two imperatives programmed into it. The need for survival, and the need to reproduce. Unless your asexual, you have a sex drive. It's not going to turn off, at least not until after your old enough that reproduction isn't really an option anymore.
  10. I know I mess them more than I would lie. I just think of the words, and my fingers will pick out the spelling. I never actually think about which letters I am hitting on the keyboard (which is good because I type faster than I could think of them anyway). I will default to whichever variation I use or like most if I am not paying attention. I imagine most people are like this, and a lot of the mistakes you see are just that, mistakes.
  11. RuneHQ will be there for sure. Someone over there organized the whole thing. I would also expect Zybez to show, and the RSwiki could put a team together as well if they want to. Not sure who all was invited though.
  12. Another thanks in order I think. So thanks for the grats :D And thank you for the music, very nice. However, if I had to pick my own themesong, I think I would go with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiSTywA6fHY I love those games so much. And they have the most epic themesong ever. Now its mine
  13. Yes, the price will rise. But it will be mostly artificial in the first year or so, which will lead to a very unstable price. On the other hand, they have the potential to become a slow flip item I think, since as part of the rare market they might rise and fall a lot against the demand of the other rares (namely santas in the winter. Party hats don't really every do anything exciting). Not really an expert on merching, but the instability might be exploitable by the savy.
  14. I see Sam has lost his color camera again
  15. I think most of us use the website for a while before veturing here (if we ever do). I think I was almost a year in that regard. Welcome to the cool part of the site :shades:
  16. A thought on the fish mask situation. While I do like the article, something that was only touched on partially is the initial suply relative to eventual population. Realisticly, RuneScape is not going to get much bigger, at least not like it did after the other rares. When all the other rares were released, the total population of the game was a tiny fraction of what it is now. The game will never again multiply its population many times over as measured from now. So your relying solely on people retireing the masks by quitting with them still in the bank to make them more uncommon. Thats' really where the game is at now, is that the population doesn't really get much bigger (hence all the marketing compensation), it just cycles through players. What I suspect has happened is that they did the math, and realized that the game will probably cease to exist before the masks can truly command full rare status, since it will probably take at least a couple decades to even really start on that journey. I also enjoyed the dungeoneering article. There really was a lot of missed opourtunity because of the way they approached its integration into the game. I'll read the game theory one a but later. My mind is not currently up to that particular task.
  17. Yep. This is the designation of 'crazy ex'. This means that under no circumstances should the two of you ever think about getting back together, and you should do your best to make sure she has no part/impact in your life.
  18. Lovely. And I think I am being unfair. In the great scheme of things, most people would probably turn out to be decent drivers learning from their parents, obviously pending on the parents skill and teaching abilities. Between that, and just reading the book, you'll probably be alright until you get some experiance. What the classes are really for here are two things. First, if you take them it cuts half the time off the required waiting period between your begginers and learners. Here, you do the written test for a class 7 license, which has all kinds of restrictions, such as you have to have just one passenger, and they need a full class 5 license. 6 months after you get that you can be tested for your 5N licencense, 3 months if you do some form of accredited drivers ed program (and they normally also provide the car they've been teaching you in, so that you have experience with that particular car). 2 years after you get your 5N, you lose the N and get a full class 5 that has no curfew limits on it. And I might have the classes wrong, but you get the idea.
  19. I meant I had never observed a case myself where driving like their parents seemed like a boon. By bad habbits, I am talking more about style than legality. You get your rough and abrubt drivers who treat the pedals and wheel like an on/off switch. Another one I notice is if either of the parents are a really nervous driver, their children often end up nervous too. The other thing you run into are great drivers that will still fail the test, because they aren't perfectly by the book. A common one is if your pulling out of a side streen, and someone has their blinker on indicating they are pulling in there, some peoplejust pull out counting on them to be slowing down and turning. Most will normally wait to be sure they are slowing down (this is where I am now), but on a test, if they are close enough that your counting on them turning, you damn well wait for them to actually engage the turn, because an alarming number of people will actually go strait. Speeing is one that is common as dirt. Around here, you don't go within 5km/h of the speed limit on your test, because if they think you've gone over, you fail. Then you have your rolling stops, merging without checking blind spots, not using blinkers, not turning your lights on in reduced visibility (like rain, where you di it not to light your way, but so that people can actually see you), not pulling over a bit to the side when the opposing lane has a car parked on the side (to make room for the other lane to get by). All these little things. The point is, their job is to do everything by the book, and start you off in the best possible place. They tend to be much better at it than everyone else, because they are trained for it.

Lol, when I first saw you guys talking about a fight, I assumed it was some kind of computer game match and someone was using pac-man as their gamer name  And thanks Sbrideau. And out of curiosity, roughly how do you say your name (going to be hard because it's french. I can't figure out the Sbri part though).
  21. Very happy to see one of these again, having participated in I think 2 of the past MSSW's. I guess we're iron now. Tip.it has historically been able to dominate these battles with pure numbers, filling up the server hours prior to the event so that the other fanistes combined have only a fraction of our army. Not sure we can count on such overwhelming numbers this time, but we still have a reputation to uphold. If I can make it, which is a stretch unfortunately, I will certainly be in attendance. If not, someone else is going to have to fight twice as hard for me :P These events are a lot of fun though, and a great show of fansite spirit, especially since we will likely pull in people from the site who don't use the forums at all. If you can attend, it is most certainly worth the time

If you try to build another costume room or managerie, you will have the option to move them. For all other rooms, they have to be built from scratch in their new location. And the rule I followed when I made my house has to put all the things I would be using frequetly/repeatedly, in the most conveniant spots. So your chappel, managerie, and house portals should all be close to your entrance. If you link them all with a quest hall like I did, orient the quest hall so that the mounted glory is on the external wall of the chapel. The distance probably doesn't make a huge difference, but its the most conveniant wall clicking wise when your in the chapel. Other purpose rooms such as the workshop, costume room, and study, don't need to be as close. Also, if you want to, since you can have your servant follow you to a different floor, your study in particular can be located up a floor and still be useful, in case you want to pretend to have a better view, or like me, wanted both lecterns, but not on the same floor. Though when I did it, the servant only serviced the main floor so I put the demon lecturn up top, since it gets used far less.
  23. The nice part about creating an account and never using it, is that when you do use it, you have that nice join date. I guess this is your formal welcome to the forums, so: Welcome!
  24. As a pairing to this (very true) statement, also remember that the feelings of other people are ultimately beyond your control. Not everyone will love you if you just do something different or whatever. I find people lose sight of this sometimes.
