Is that why she took the pork money anyway? Please, I won't give you that he flip-flopped on public financing either. States doesn't really write checks to the Federal Government to return earmarks. While Governor she did cut the amout of earmarks Alaska takes by like a hundred million dollars or something. And Obama completely flip flopped on public financing. Before he had a 3 to 1 money advantage it was 'Oh ya public financing is great! It lessens corruption and the influence of special interests and all that stuff. Of course I'll take public financing.' Then once he has an advantage not only did he go back on his pledge, but he blatantly spread lies about the RNC.

Some magazine already did this to McCain but they edited it to make him look worse. I don't think they ran the cover though. It was just a matter of time until the media went after Palin the same way. Not that it really matters anyway.

...loads up his rifle. ...loads up his rifle. What? When the goalie gets a save and passes it top a dude and they just go, that is like a fast break in basketball. And what happened to gun control?

I've never really been a big hockey person until the end of last season. I went to a Sharks playoff game against the stars and that was one of the best sports events I've ever been to. Maybe it was because I was in a suite but now I'm a Sharks fan. I am gonna try to go to a few games this year. I don't really know much about hockey, I just kind of like the flow of the game. It's kind of similar to basketball.

I haven't had a good Halloween in like 2 years. I hope you guys aren't joking about it being on a friday.

That's not really terrible at all. You probably just saw that commercial. In reality they do that to make sure that there are plenty of moose and caribou for Alaskans and tourists to hunt. Wolves eat like a dozen moose a year each. That's a lot of extra "meese" if you will, to hunt each year. And the program is only over 9% of Alaska. http://dwb.adn.com/news/alaska/wildlife ... 8810c.html

Nobody really does that, not even Sean Hannity, so I'd have to say anybody who does is stupid. I would hardly call the bridge to Ketchikan a flip flop. She wasn't running for Vp when she did it. There wasn't any political gain. The reason she changed her mind was because the cost went up like $100 million dollars. I remember I heard a guy on the radio talking about Mitt Romney. Romney said he could still remember the room he was in when he went from pro-choice to pro-life. That's not a flip flop. A real flip flop would be Obama saying that he would take public funding in the general election and going back on his word when it was clear that he would have an advantage. And then spreading lies about the RNC while doing it. Not really. No scientists say that the earth isn't warming or that man has no affect. There is however a lot of disagreement about how much of an affect humans can and have had.

Rod Parsely isn't even comparable to Jeremiah Wright. He is not even McCain's pastor while Wright was Obama's for 20 years. He only endorsed McCain. Same with Hagee, although I'll never understand how anybody can say he is anti-semetic. Even if you take Wright out of the picture, look at the church Obama went to. It is like the main church in the country for teaching black liberation theology. That's almost worse that having Wright for a pastor. Black liberation theology basically says that if God is not on black peoples side and is trying to kill white people then black people need to kill God. And McCain's actual pastor is very respectable. http://www.christiantoday.com/article/m ... /17481.htm

They aren't lies. It's not really a big deal but it is true. It was some wacky guy who bombed some government building. I think it was the pentagon or something. I don't thing is group didn't even killed anyone. I guess he and Obama were both teachers at Chicago University and Obama had some party or something at the dudes house. It's not really an issue. If they are trying to connect him to anyone they should try to connect him to Jeremiah Wright.

This just brought to mind the prop 8 ad that has Gavin Newsom (mayor of SF, famous for his affairs and providing alcohol to minors) yelling out to a crowd saying "Whether you like it or not!" I hadn't heard that the board of education had done this but I wouldn't be surprised if it was at his initiative. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the movie "Major Payne" about JROTC? Not to trivialize it or anything but that is one funny movie.

The only thing that article says is that one of the economists who is an Obama supporter had second thoughts about signing it. Not because of anything wrong with the plan but because he supports Obama. That he signed it in the first place says something.

^^ Dewey in a landslide. Thats why he should have picked Romney. That would have given him Michigan.
-
Ahh yes. We were all eagerly awaiting the Msnbc poll. Obviously the best one. The real measure will be the daily kos/moveon.org joint poll. 1. okay 2. Doesn't really make sense. Just an attempt to smear Bush. We worked with other nations on Afghanistan and whatever people say there was a coalition going into Iraq, we worked with other countries regarding North Korea, and we worked with the EU about the situation in Georgia. 3. okay 4. Completely loaded question. Not really a major issue. Would just an attempt to trick Palin into saying that if a local community wanted to give intelligent design equal time in a classroom she wouldn't stop them. 5. okay 6. Not really an issue. Just an attempt to portray Palin as a Bible thumping fundamentalist. I doubt there has ever been a case of someone not being allowed to run for office because they were an atheist. And gay marriage would only have to do with the establishment clause if it was the government saying a gay church couldn't marry people. Not to mention that Biden opposes gay marriage. 7. Either say that nclb is the reason we are lacking in education or call teachers, parents and students all stupid.
-
Anyone with the kind of monetary stake in the outcome of the election should have recused themselves from a position like that. I think she was pretty fair though. And those aren't very good questions. If you are a debate moderator you are not supposed to ask loaded questions.
-
^^ Well obviously Msnbc. You don't even have to watch it to know.
-
I think Palin did all right. There were a few missed opportunities where she really could have gone after him or Obama. The one thing though...She said NUCULAR like 10 times. I winced every time she said it.
-
The debate is ridiculous. The moderator Gwen Ifill is writing a book about Obama. Can you imagine the uproar that would happen if anything happened like this towards McCain? I don't know how much people make from a book but if someone had gone to Leher and said "you don't have to do anything but if McCain wins the election then I will give you a million dollars" it would have been a huge deal. Anyone who has that kind of money at stake should recuse themselves.
-
My high schools mascot was the Padres. If it wasn't for the baseball team I think it would be pretty unique. I have to say for college the WCC has the best conference. The Waves, the Torreros, The Dons, and the Gaels are all pretty cool names.
-
No, not really...considering Paul doesn't want a Federal government to exist whatsoever. Oh, by the way, how can branches of the military give to politicians? Methinks your picture is a POS  No company can donate directly to a candidate. Obama has already tried to smear McCain with that lie. When you see things like that it is the total contributions of all the employees.
-
I said conservatives, not Republicans/Democrats. Your aimless titfortat on this thread shows what the real underlying cause for the rejection of this Bill is. The real issue here is not Republicans vs. Democrats, or she said this and he said that; it's the simple matter of a general election coming up in a month's time, and congressmen don't want to have to go home and say, "Well, we could have saved spending your taxpayers money, but we decided not to. Vote for me again please!" Obviously. They are getting calls and letters 10 to 1 against it. It's not conservatives only. People like Dennis Kucinich, Shiela Jackson-Lee, and John Conyers all voted against it. The Republican leadership mostly voted for it and I would hardly say they aren't conservative.
-
Well if the Speaker would bring the Republican bill to the floor I bet it would pass.
-
I'd be a little more concerned about Biden's gaffe saying that he and Obama don't support clean coal. edit: or opposing tha AIG bailout
