  1. I just checked that out and it says there are 13% obese children in Finland and rising.
  2. Is obesity spread evenly throughout all of Britain, or is it far worse in certain areas (like in the US)?
  3. Yo-yo's were always very hard for me. I could barely get it to go up and down, never learned a trick  .
  4. Go to rosetta stone :P. I took a class for 2 years (and it was very hard :( ) And they are correct about french words being confusing to english. Manger=to eat #-o .

They're complaining because they lost. People have been doing it since the beginning of time. Politicians, athletes, kids playing games, everyone tries to find an excuse as to why they lost. Think of it this way, if China didn't get the gold, do you think anyone would be complaining about a girl being underage?
  6. Yah, I thought this was going to be about the Olympics. I suggest changing the title to something like "British Children Taken Away For Obesity" or something like that.

I'll bring the flag burning into this again. Why can't people burn a flag in private, rather than at crowded places.
  8. I don't know what the title has to do with the article, but it is rather smart to take away obese children to make them happy. I'd support the idea.
  9. You're implying that anyone who is outraged by this is a liberal. You can play the word games all day, but you're still going to be as see-through as cellophane. Besides, if so few are taking advantage of it, why even implement it in the first place? If even one life is saved, than it is worth it to me.
  10. It wasn't just the teachers at my school. I just meant the teacher's I've met that were like that. Some of the teachers at my old school were great (mainly just the ones I had). I won't lie though. The office staff was horrible, the old librarian was a [bleep] to my sister, and it was an all-around stupid school. EDIT: Were you talking to me or somebody else? I was talking to you.

Burning a flag doesn't have intentions of hurting others then? (I love how we're finally bringing the original topic back into this  )
  12. Why do you have a china symbol? How often do you actually use it? And I suggest getting a new ring for your snare, that pos ring made me cringe seeing it on such a nice kit. As for me, my kit is packed away and don't have any shots of it :(.
  13. Powman, I don't want to get in to the teacher responsibility argument again (check back a few pages), but if a teacher is that crazy, I doubt they would allow her to have a gun :? . Btw, I feel really sorry for you since you go to such a messed up school :-# .
  14. What good is a taser when you're staring down the barrel of a gun from 20 feet away? Sure a taser could do some good, but it wouldn't stand a chance against a kid with a gun.
  15. I just reworded everything you said because besides the bad grammar, you hit the nail on the head.

Arguing just for the sake of it...? If the government decides what people can complain about, then what would be the point of freedom of speech?

Maybe Nastia's routine was easier? A couple mistakes on a harder routine could still give the same score. As for the picture of the 16 year old chess player, I believe she is the same age as the Olympian. As someone earlier said, excessive training can stunt growth.
  18. Considering that you're just out of high school, that's pretty much impossible. $3,000 in a few months is far from impossible if he works full time, even at minimum wage.
  19. Dangerous schools in large cities could definitely use teachers holding some sort of self defense. And as for the the student knowing the teacher had a gun wouldn't happen since the teacher has the weapon concealed. But if the schools didn't want to pay for some teachers to get concealed weapons, the teacher should have the option to in fear for their own life. You're right about teachers not bring there at lunch, but in most school shootings, the students are in high school and eat lunch off campus anyways. I do agree that it wouldn't be realistic to mentally evaluate all students, though.
  20. We'll just let them kill each other off with their precious guns ;) Is flaming people who wish teachers to have some sort of defense really necessary?
  21. Don't bring other cultures' beliefs into this, especially when you don't have a clue about it.

Why no protection to the KKK? I understand back when they were violent, yes, but why now? That's what's confusing me. People pick and choose what they think is morally acceptable and think everything that they disagree with should be banned. That's not free speech, that's communism. The KKK should not be protected because what they stand for is hatred and intolerance, they arent protesting a social issue such as abortion or gay marriage, simply saying everyone that isnt white is inferior. They are protesting other races, it's the same thing. And ginger, you know what I mean. If the government doesn't let people exercise their right just because they don't like the subject, then we're no better.
  23. You talk like a teacher is a crazy lunatic waving their gun in the faces of children =D> . I don't see why a classroom would be terrified of an adult carrying a concealed gun with proper training. It's not like there's a big bin of guns being passed out at the door to the teachers :) . If a group of kids are not nervous around their teacher who they know has a gun, whether they know how to use it or not, I think shows a serious problem in society. Guns should never be the norm, especially in a classroom. Kids don't care about things like training, it's the fact that that teacher has the potential in his pocket to easily kill someone. I wouldn't be afraid of the person that has my potential future in their hands if they have a gun. If you're trusting your career to a teacher, you might as well be entrusting your life. Er, right. You do realise that anybody who has a gun has your potential future in their hands? Living is so much more than careers, you know. You're missing the point, why be afraid of someone who holds your financial future just because they carry a gun?
  24. Off-Topic doesn't have to be news articles, religious debates, and political crap. Sometimes it's nice to have threads like this.
  25. What a terrible world we live in where we have religious, political, social freedoms, can say what we want without fear of censure or someone breaking down our door in the middle of the night. I'm sure the rocket-scientists at NASA would get a kick out of this thread  . Anyways, I'm glad there's a few people out there who actually know about the Texas education system.
