  1. This... ^ ...is a bit more towards what I was getting at. :-s And here's the de-flawing piece of information this thread needs: Jagex has changed things in their games lately, and in a manner that has sabotaged more than just one stable config I have access to. But, even worse, it has sabotaged a large chunk of the RuneScape Community, of which I am only one person in a huge pile of utterly angry users who have been more-or-less left behind by the major change to the game code. Making a game unplayable in this manner, when Mod MMG said that their game would be back-compatible with at least Java 1.4.x (Earlier, actually... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfg73DE7iv0&fmt=18 ... Start listening from 9:10 [m:s] in to hear it...) series, is worse than bad business. Even worse bad business when you consider that some of these ancient systems need to run the game in HD mode and utilize the hardware acceleration they have, or they will crash so hard that I could attach a tv show reference to describe the crash... And heck, I happen to have one of those anomaly configurations here, which I happen to use! ~Mr. D. V. "PCs don't fit a single line of ideas... Proper compatible software design is the only solution." Devnull
  2. You're not the only one that doesn't like it. And I'm upset due to technical reasons. Most people don't have tons of money they can spend on upgrading stuff left and right. Further, people don't like being flipped the "go upgrade" birdie... ~Mr. D. V. "I'm angry with you, not at you..." Devnull
  3. I'll assume you're making a poor joke... I checked the numbers on the Official RuneScape Game Manual while writing my post... If someone uses my advice at the fastest possible rate they can, then they can expect more like 50k to 100k exp/hr... Possibly More... And that doesn't include all the mining exp they're racking up during this. B) You're very welcome. Glad to be of help. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  4. 5228 ... More posts, plz? ~D. V. "Must... make... thread... move!!!" Devnull
  5. It could be due to a potential permissions issue, which is part of why I began the thread. Of course, I don't think I made that potentially apparent... Anywho, I'm waiting to see if it will fix itself... no dice so far. :( ~D. V. "whoops..." Devnull
  6. I came back in Late February/Early March... Let's just say being able to do combat again without having to be so jittery helped a lot... (Constitution Update FTW there...) There were other reasons, but that's private between myself and Tip.It Forum Staff... Glad to see you again, though, Ouchy_S ... BTW, I'm having to go after Jagex about a few major fouls they've made, one of which I have started a thread in RS B&S about... Come and support please? :) Was, anyway... until Tripsis did a "C-C-C-Combo Breaker!!!" (UT3-style joke... LOL  ...) ~Mr. D. V. "Good to be back, LOL..." Devnull
  7. Did that when I bypassed the cache with a shift-reload... so that's already tried. :( Wish I had one to try... Internet Explorer isn't allowed here where I live with my parents, and we don't have any alternate browsers because I can't get my dad to install any... (Of course, I can't blame him... There is NO perfect equivalent to AdBlock Plus on any other browser right now. At least, that I know of...) I haven't changed anything here... And I know my dad hasn't... So the problem definitely isn't mine, since everything else here is working well beyond perfectly... Might be my ISP, Verzion, that's doing it, but I'll have to get my dad's help with that. :geek: It would appear that, long and short, I'm pretty much screwed then... Oh well... I'll just have to pray it starts working again. -.- ~D. V. "Why does trouble always find me?" Devnull
  8. Angat14, if you wish to have full self-sufficiency, avoid using anything more than a very small amount of gp, and avoid combat that could mess up your pure's stats, then I personally suggest the following methods of training your crafting levels: 5 to 7 -- Clay Pots (Make sure you fire them as well!) 7 to 8 -- Pie Dishes (Could do pots, but this will be faster...) 8 to 16 -- Bowls (Fastest exp during this period... You'd have to lose a lot of time in mining if you did Gold Amulets...) 16 to 23 -- Two options here: More Bowls (If you don't mind repeating this some more...) Holy Symbols (Great for prayer extension while in combat... Make sure you both string them and get them blessed!)[*]23 to 40 -- Three options here: More Bowls (If you don't mind repeating this some more...) Holy Symbols (If you don't mind repeating this some more... Again, great for prayer extension while in combat... Make sure you both string them and get them blessed!) Tiaras (Awesome if you're going to also RuneCraft them later...)[*]40 to 50 -- So many options here that it literally isn't funny. However, you now have access to the Crafting Guild, so you can speed along with just about ANY crafting method all the way to level 50... DO SOMETHING YOU WILL ENJOY HERE OR YOU'LL GO NUTS... (I personally had to spend time down from RuneScape because I did go nuts from it...) Yes, mining gets severely involved here, but Leather must be avoided in order to not end up training combat or taking a severe hit to your gp available to you. But, only use these suggestions I've made if you can find enjoyment in them, as they can become quite tedious. Otherwise, they won't be worth the time spent being out of combat, even with the fact that they can be pure profit as long as you didn't spend gp in buying materials to train via these ways. I do hope, however, that this information and these methods will become of some use to you. :) ~Mr. D. V. "Yeah, I'm a Crafting nutcase..." Devnull
  9. Hello, Tip.It Forum Staff... B) I was just logging on to the Tip.It Forums this morning, and suddenly found a load full of these "Icon" phrases on my screen, in place of where images should be present. When I went to right-click in FireFox and select "View Image" with a middle click in order to put it in a new tab in an attempt to get it to load, I instead got the following, and not the image that was supposed to appear: I looked at it once, hit shift-reload (bypassing cache) to attempt to get it to load, even tried the added functionality of the Show Image extension I've got loaded in this version of FireFox, and upon getting over at least half the frustration I was feeling, started this thread. So, the problem is either at your end, or due to some pesky router between me and you. Anywho, could you please check that the image is present on your server in the first place??? ~Mr. D. V. "This looks ugly on my screen... Help, please!?" Devnull
  10. IMO, those reflections had better not come before HD compatibility with older Java is restored. Too many people are having PC problems right now because Jagex forgot to maintain compatibility. And NO, most people are unable to just upgrade on a damn whim, so don't even start in with that load of cabbage... ~Mr. D. V. "They can forget it if they don't fix their HD compatibility." 11. 5241 Hi, Lady Ninane, glad to see you in here! <*hugs her*> (... Click for next page ...) ~Mr. D. V. "Always glad to have more people in this thread..." Devnull (p.s.: As of this post, the next page doesn't exist yet... Stay tuned!)
  12. Aww, you didn't notice my post in that thread :( I'd love to know the QFC for that thread... Sounds like it would be fun stuff to read for any 21+ male... :P @ Myu -- I have to run ABP as part of house policy (or I would never be online) here... I do, however, get how you feel about that advert spot... Had to add a new rule to get rid of it, only to find a spare patch of open space below. :( @ Den -- Yeah, it definitely IS possible that MMG decided he wanted his face modeled into the new home page for an update. LOL  @ TOPIC -- This new homepage reminds me all too much of that ugly Flash-based "BattleOn.com AdventureQuest" game I saw someone else playing... Definitely a bad move on Jagex's part to do this, especially if they want to attract any crowds that hate the other game I mentioned... <_< ~Mr. D. V. "That new page sucks..." Devnull (p.s.: If my post sounds like I'm being a pervert, it isn't intentional... I was trying to comment in as few words as possible which crowd that thread likely appeals to...)
  13. GAH! She's gonna banhammer us all! :ohnoes: Nah, just joking. LOL  Congrats, Lady Ninane, on becoming a Super Moderator! Any chance I could talk you into joining in the fun on the "Countdown From 15K" thread? We simply don't have enough people moving the count along. It is like waiting an hour to hear a Grandfather Clock go off, while sitting in a dark room... Or like watching paint peel off the walls, which can also be scary stuff... ~Mr. D. V. "I just hope she doesn't go crazy from all the additional power..." Devnull
  14. 5245 Some music for you all to enjoy: " " (You'll need to select "480p" once it loads to hear the full sound picture... Nothing I can do about that, sorry.) This piece was created for the "Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2" game, but it sure is awesome to listen to even when you're not playing the game... ~Mr. D. V. "I just love screaming along in a McLaren F1 LM!" Devnull
  15. 5247 Awesome video pick, run4runes ... Napalm_Death just got PWNT with a "Step It Up!" sandwich... LOL! ~Mr. Devnull
  16. 5253 C'mon! Step it up again, already! ~Mr. Devnull
  17. There must be 5256 ways to be upset... because I'm not happy as I'm typing this. <_< ~Mr. Devnull
  18. Are there at least 5259 ways to get drunk? :???: ~D. V. Devnull
  19. 5267 Sounds a little too square to me. :P ~Mr. Devnull
  20. Perhaps add SpeedFan to that list? ~Mr. D. V. "Maybe that one can help, too?" Devnull
  21. <*gags and chokes dsavi_x4 off to sleep*> Rainy_Day is correct here, as they didn't pay anyone, and it isn't just for cool people. Names that have underscores currently were made pre-IPB... (Yes, we had a forum conversion recently. I suspect the TIF Admins are still working out all those nasty little bugs...) I'm a little surprised, though, as someone would think that IPB's creators would have thought to leave such a character enabled. I hope an Admin sees this thread and makes underscores available again soon for other users. Heck, I would have been ticked off if I couldn't have used underscores in my username, because in "D_V_Devnull", the "D" and "V" happen to be initials for a first and middle name. ~Mr. D. V. 22. Only if a contact on the graphics card is only intermittently connecting to the matching pin on the motherboard's slot for it. Just to be on the safe side, though, click your PC off long enough to open the case, drain the static (by touching the outside of the Power Supply casing in the PC) off your body, and reseating the graphics card back down into its' slot. And if you don't feel like you can do it on your own safely, get help from someone who has a ton of experience with doing things like this. B) Just my honest opinion, but it is more than likely that what you're experiencing with your graphics card is just simply due to lack of competence at Jagex's HQ... Why? Because they wrote their own OpenGL library files and deposited them in a directory on your PC in order to give RuneScape the graphics support it has. Sadly, it seems to me that whatever they did in those files wasn't clean and proper, as there has been a mass epidemic of people having issues with RuneScape since the RuneTek 5 release. (Check the past 50 Tech Support pages in the RSOF if you don't believe me... I've been having to raise havoc for other reasons there.) Issues of which have ranged from shutdowns to disconnections to crashes to glitches to etc. ... The list goes on and on, and it ain't fun at all... Knowing my luck, somebody at Jagex HQ doesn't want to uphold Mod MMG's words about Java Compatibility, and is trying to force everyone out there to buy new hardware and upgrade their software, even when they can't for some reason or another. :( ~Mr. D. V. "But that's just my proof-driven conspiracy theory..." Devnull (p.s.: Sticking in a report to have this thread moved to Tech&Comp... Like the above person suggested, you might get better help there.)
  23. Uhm... you, of course. :P Last time I checked, no one said I was cooking your sandwich anyway. :shame: 5276 ~Mr. D. V. "LOL" Devnull
  24. Wasn't thinking of cooking (or shooting other people) with this gun, so you have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, I might be a danger to myself, so watch out... because when I have a gun in hand, it can't be grabbed out of my hands. :P 5289 ~Mr. D. V. "Suicide, anyone?" Devnull
