  1. Actually nothing beats the Spybot S&D and the Ad-Aware combo :). Yea i agree with you there. I'm gonna third that, given my overall personal experience with those two. What one doesn't catch, the other will. ~D. V. Devnull
  2. Wow. :? ... Awesome bug. I'll have to watch for that happening. :geek: ~D. V. Devnull
  3. I think being able to hide Game Messages would be appropriate for this situation. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  4. I've never had this happen... But then again, I've never had a half-dozen tabs either. :P Maybe tabs = bad? :boohoo: ... Good thing I don't use them! ~D. V. Devnull
  5. I will support this because I'd love to know when I actually began RuneScape. I have an approximate date in my mind, but I could be wrong about it. So, I'd love to see it and confirm. : ~D. V. Devnull
  6. The automatic teleport to the next altar saved me. I can move inside the wall though :P The glitch is really simple and fun, I've done it like five times now  So... how did you do it? :? ~D. V. Devnull
  7. Heh... heh... heh... RuneScape Bugs & MSSW... both are good reasons to have a dedicated thread. :) ~D. V. Devnull
  8. Try a different video cable. If it works, you know the old one is faulty. 8-) If not, post back to this thread and tell us, please? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  9. Wouldn't he have to completely turn off the machine for a few seconds for the RAM to flush itself? That depends on the RAM in your PC... 100% of my RAM-based troubles are cleared with a simple reboot, without any kind of power down happening. : Could you tell us how you did it, even if it was with something we suggested?!?!? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  10. I agree on that idea. I also agree, seeing as an external hard drive connected over USB, E-Sata, and/or firewire will be faster. (480 Mbps, FTW! ...) ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  11. 11,775 Oh, but for the wish of more people counting here. <-- In the meanwhile... Anyone know my Location's reference? :-w ~D. V. Devnull
  12. Have you tried rebooting? Sometimes, things in RAM just get in the wrong way and a reboot is needed to clean it up. :) Also, if you don't wish to reboot, have you tried checking the ip which 'www.runescape.com' exists at? If not, call a Command Prompt, and type in "nslookup www.runescape.com"... (Preferably without the quotes.) You should then see something like this... ... as output from that command. If you're not connecting to any of those IPs, then you're probably not getting a link to RuneScape, in which case you need to do an "ipconfig /flushdns", and then try reconnecting. 8-) If you're still having trouble after all that, please post back and tell us? :-s ~D. V. Devnull
  13. Bloodredsword, could we have an HJT log to view? I'm thinking there may be something it spots that we can tell you to rid yourself of. :) ~D. V. Devnull
  14. What the hell??? 'StarField'/'Flying Through Space' is NOT "sucky"!!! :shame: ... You should see it on dual monitors!!! Mega-Case of FTW!!! ... Heck, I've made it my default screen saver of choice on my windows accounts on all of the PCs where I live!!! 8-) Don't let your choice of screen saver be swayed, hawkxs!!! The classics are as good as (if not better than) the new ones!!! : ~D. V. Devnull
  15. You'd better find if you can move more files off to the network drive. (Such as documents and other non-program files.) :( I can tell you with some certainty that trying to install a game's files to the network drive would only result in 'lag city', if the game runs at all. Especially since you'd be shoving data across a 100 Mbps pipe. (Note, that's Megabits, NOT MegaBytes.) Sadly, a 100 Mbps pipe is only as fast as an old IDE hard disk, which ain't that fast at all. And then there's the time to get it across the network adapter, through the CPU, and into RAM, as well as the return trips. Further, you'd have to be connected to the same LAN as the network drive to be able to use it, which means you'd only be able to play the game while connected to that LAN. :boohoo: Sorry for the 'bummer'. :| ~D. V. Devnull
  16. 11,778 Sorry, folks, but we haven't left the 11K region yet. :notalk: ~D. V. Devnull
  17. 11,783 ... New page soon................................................................................... :geek: ~D. V. Devnull
  18. Remember Devnull also thinks cookies are dangerous it really surprises me he doesn't use ntfs. Actually, I'm sitting on a PC that uses NTFS for the C: drive, and I've had nothing but trouble with the NTFS-based system volume. And this is even though my ID is a Power User. (Yes, not an Admin, but geez... Microsoft blew it. Power Users should have the ability to traverse anywhere they need to, give or take an Admin's personal folder, and maybe one or two deep-seated system folders!) That's why I'm calling it ugly, because it is giving me that level of trouble. Sure, it should be secure, but it shouldn't lock out people that should have access to certain folders, which is something that having the upper deck of priveleges is supposed to allow. :| And as for cookies, they're not all bad. I recommend prompt so that a user knows what's going on their PC. Not to be an annoying [bleep], which is contrary to what sloter thinks. (OT: BTW, you'll notice I spell-checked him for what he did to my online last name...) ~D. V. Devnull
  19. stan18, could you tell us what OS you're on? I have the feeling some of what you're trying to do may not be possible. :-k ... And what's worse is that, it sounds like you're on ugly NTFS on a system volume where you're having extreme difficulty. :( ~D. V. Devnull
  20. pitac83, I suggest you get all skills to a minimum of at least 50+ before you aim towards making any serious amounts of gp. However, after that, Steel Platebodies make a semi-good high-alch item to quickly make a keg of gp off of. Further, it won't put as much of a dent in your smithing advances as just selling the bars that you'd use to make the Platebodies. ~D. V. Devnull
  21. Your sister = scary, dude. She grappled onto FireFox's Capabilities faster than you could say "Monkey's Uncle"... :o (Gggggggaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!) ... I'd say to make it so that only your parents and you can install themes and/or extensions. Your sister (unlike tons of other ladies) appears to be too dangerous. :| Have you run antispyware/antivirus scans? Also, could you provide us with an HJT log, so we can see if there is anything identifiably wrong? :-s ... (Sounds to me like IE is either impatient, or is not configured right. :-k ...) That's a bit harsh, dsavi... Yes, 'Ouchy_S' should change back to the default theme. But, 'Ouchy_S' should give them a tutorial. DO NOT drop them into it in some cold manner!!! :shame: Get her an IE-styled theme for Firefox. ... She might not notice the difference. :-w ... It is the best I can suggest. :geek: ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  22. 11,798 Music of the Day: "Unreal Tournament (Original) - Mission Landing", posted by "TheMusicOfUT" o3P0JvGdABY Enjoy, everyone. ... BTW, if you really want to hear stuff that they chop from these low-bandwidth feeds, click the link, but open in a new window. I just discovered that I'm being pwned by their bloody server with the applet used in this forum post. -.- ~Mr. D. V. Devnull
  23. Nice try... However, you have managed to find me in a bad state of mind................. Time to drop you... <*DVD pulls out his "RailBlazer Shotgun", and puts 3 holes straight through non-critical points of Echocut's body. Echocut drops to the ground, bleeding lightly, and lays there unconscious. DVD then teleports Echocut to the nearby hospital.*> Can't believe them... Oh well... They'll learn... :-w 11,803 ~Mr. D. V.
